    I've had Dr Dan as a personal vocal coach in the past and can 100% recommend him and his teaching method. I have gradually increased my ability to sing over the years and am getting to a point that I am satisfied with my abilities as a singer (With still, much more growth to go!), and, I attribute much of this growth to the early practice I did with Dr Dan in our one on one coaching, and the knowledge he shares online. To this day, EVERY day, I practice Dan's vocal warmup exercises. I highly recommend him as a person and as a teacher!

    It's singing, so you'd think the full benefit might come from just listening to the audio But there's something being able to watch the practice that is very helpful. Especially in the lip bubbles and sirens. Many thanks for this.

    Dr. Dan,
    I love your earthiness and straight forward style of vocal coaching. You even admit to a mistake and for me that made me an instant and lifelong fan of you, your videos and your voice lessons. Please keep up the good work and thank you so for sharing your knowledge of singing and your love of music with the rest of the world:)

    Hey Dr Dan 🙂 thanks for this excellent video..these are my favourite exercises! They do a great job warming up the voice. 15 minutes well spent- guaranteed👍👍👍

    • @mariosaucedo6234
      @mariosaucedo6234 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How much have they helped you? Do you recommend me just singing along to the video? Just like he mentioned or do each one individually for 15 minutes?

    • @wooyulan
      @wooyulan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mariosaucedo6234 vocal warm ups are now my absolute must do before undertaking any lengthy period of singing ( before a vocal workout or a gig).. cool downs afterwards too BTW! They just gently stretch and warm up the cords, and it feels significantly easier to 'work' with a variety of songs.
      Helps prevent sudden strains too.
      As for recommendations, as Dr Dan said in this video you're best doing your own self customised warm up according to your own voice and how it feels. What he has done in this video is demonstrate how the exercises should be approached..but it is not a case of just copying what he does here..i would either download the exercises from VE 1 or ( you're lucky!!)... Checkout his pinned comment above which is his ten minutes warm ups in entirety. That'd be a great place to start! Good luck!

    Dr Dan--now that my voice is coming back and getting stronger, I use this video exclusively to warm up for my classes. I can't go very high, so I start at my comfortable range and go as high as I easily can, then drop back down again. But it helps so much!
    I hope that you will make a Cool Down video in this format, too. Right now, I just start at the end and go backwards, but it can be hard to find the right spot. A Cool down video like this would be awesome.

I listen to singing mostly at church and I really don't see groups or individuals doing warm ups before getting up to perform. I don't think a lot of choir practices have proper warm-ups to start with either. I know we didn't at the little family church nor at the very large church I attended years ago

    Greetings Dr. Dan. I'm so proud to be one of your students and you've changed my singing dramatically. I just got a very important question for you; I'll be having a VERY important Karaoke 🎤 contest next week so should I stop doing any kind'a vocal warm-ups or/and exercises until the day of the competition or should I do them everyday? And if thr answer is a YES then what would you recommend of doing everyday and for how long? i.e. 10-20 minutes? Thank you so much for your kind help🙏🌷

      I would encourage you to keep using your voice in a balanced manner until the date of the competition. And be sure to warm up the voice on the day of the comp. All the best!

    what is better for the vocal chords, a hot drink or a cold drink??

    • @DrDanRobinson

      Sandy, the best answer is neither. For example, when drinking water, always drink tepid temperature water (room temp.).
