I hope this man knows that I have been using this video religiously prior to every show (about two hours prior) absolute gamechanger. It’s my go to male vocal warmup. Thank you so much. I’ve been performing for around ten years and ensuring I’m properly warmed up is one of the most important parts of my rehearsal
I just got into learning the actual skill of singing to record first ep with my voice on it. I’ve always been lead guitarist with some background duties and it’s incredible how much a difference even a ten minute warmup can make. On guitar, I can usually just put a few mid tempo songs up front in a setlist to get the hands moving, but voice is more akin to pregame batting practice.
My man, your 10 minutes Warm Up has shown me optimal results. (No exaggeration). It really prepares and stretches the vocal system prior to singing. I thank you so much, Chris!
Love it! Simple love it! As a professional singer of 12 years, I can attest that these are some of the best exercises to both relieve tension and smooth out register transitions!
I been doing this warm up for almost 2 years now, it’s the one that I start off with all the time, but for every exercise I do 10 extra higher notes. From a newbie to a bit of a proficient singer. I’m going to post my first video of me singing soon, If I can ever make a living and fortune from being singer which I hope I can achieve 😔, I will give you the flowers you deserve for your contribution to my journey, thank you so much for your help 😁❤️
This is so freaking good. I’m in a band and I recently hurt my left hand so I wasn’t able to play banjo. It was just me and my voice on stage. I did this vocal exercise about an hour before we went on. I found this video and did it exactly one time. And I had the most incredible vocal performance of my life. I didn’t miss a note and the timbre of my voice just shown through. Thank you for the gift in the world with us I really appreciate you
I am the lead singer of the band “class of 85”. We are a new wave tribute band which requires a lot of low and high vocals. I use this video before rehearsal and every show! Thank you so much for putting this together.
Awesome warm up. I am professional vocalist 20+ years and worship leader at my church and I use this video every performance to loosen up my vocals. Well done. 🙌🏼
As a vocal teacher who hasn't been doing much vocal exercises I really appreciate something like this. Most of these I did with ease until the puffy cheeks. Thank you!
My humble opinion is that you get back to vocal videos like this because after using a different channel for months i felt like i was failing and tonight i used yours and absoultey smashed the vocals on my song and this video definitley helped me way more than the other channel. Whatever direction you end up going, thank you :)
Christopher these exercises are fantastic! As a woman, I use them before every voice-over audition to warm up my lower range and smooth out my speaking voice. This is such a great warm-up. Really makes my voice move forward without any push. I'm so glad I found you! Thank you!
As I started taking vocal classes this is really treasure exercises... My teacher keeps saying I have issues with proper air flow going through my throat, I always squeeze it.. Struggling a lot, but I do hope Chris' drill will take me through gradually. Thanks a lot for the valuable video.
So how did you fix your technique? , i have the same issue because of no proper breathing exercise and lack of knowledge in singing. Please reply if you fix your issue it will help me a lot. Thanks
I watch this video religiously 7 days a week while making breakfast. These exercises really get the grogginess out of my voice and prepare me to do more rigorous singing exercises.
I have my first audition in more than a decade of not performing or really practicing with intention. This was very helpful. I subscribed and will continue to follow you!
I think I may have commented this your video before Christopher, but I really love this warm up!! It’s extremely freeing in the voice. I use it every week! Thank you 😊
Just wanted to write a thank you for this fantastic video. I've been doing this video every day before sessions where I know I'll be singing (I am a music therapist, choir leader, record my own music) and my voice has felt and sounded great.
Day 2, I feel comfortable with my voice. I listened closely and almost gave up but this warm up is really for auditions or before you sing strictly; will be purchasing lessons. 9/10
@@tomasperez1121 that’s great. But this is not meant to be a vocal workout. It’s just a brief introduction. I have a full Course for this which is much more advanced with more variety and 14 different warm up exercises www.christopherdavidmitchell.com/offers/F6NQwezF
8:39 the look and hand gesture you give me like “look at that! and you told me you couldn’t do it! you’re gonna be an amazing singer and we’re gonna do it together” 😂
Thank you so much, thank you a million times Christopher and thank you again. Tried this yesterday for fun and boy how didn't I realize how much my voice was literally broken! And it came as a quick fix too! I was trying to sing Walking on the moon as best as I can and I realized how much I was struggling. I went through the whole warm up and gave it another try. Oh how much better it got, I was amazed... I also must mention you look like the coolest guy, the kind of which you'd love as a buddy. Have a blessed day, and thanks again for fixing my voice!
Thanks Chris. If you could hear me doing these your praise might not be so honest. But they get my whole vocal cavity and face mask vibrating. I have learnt that to get the high notes in particular requires energy. Beginning to get it after 8 months!
This is the most effective warm up i have seen on youtube, seriously. I've been using this everytime I need to perform or record. Congrats, it is AWESOME!
Thank you so much for this video. It REALLY feels like you're in the room with me. I needed this! Of course I have trouble with the lip rolls and tongue trills. I lose moisture and eventually I can't roll or trill at all.
You are amazing and have a very giving personality. You share your personal wisdom with others, which I'm sure is appreciated by a far and wide group of people. Thank you!
Love to sing from boyish. Rarely has problem with voice until this year as I turn 62. So I need to find some lesson of voice warming to be able to keep singing. And I found this vdo. It is amazing feeling good from the first trial. Thank you from Thailand.
hey mate just letting you know you are my favourite vocal warmup and i hope you are doing well as you have been unknowingly a part of my life for the past like decade hahah
This was absolutely phenomenal! Thank you so much. My voice feels fantastic and so flexible! This is a game changer for me if I’m in a pinch for time. Thank you so much!
Thanks Chris for posting this warm -up, it was really helpfull, especially humming with tongue out really realesed my voice, thanks & all the best, Peter.
Fellow vocal coach here, this video was awesome!! Also, good job and thats cool and you're doing great.... I think must be my top used phrases during lessons as well lol!! All the best, Ill be looking out for you!
Great teacher, thank you. I clicked on this cause I needed a warmup for my vocal cords and face muscles. I was only intending on something small and simple. What I got was way better. Thank you. Keep up the work. I hope your pursuits are great
Thanks Christopher, just did this.. Found it really useful. Especially liked that you added verbal encouragement along the way. Made me feel I was doing the exercises with you at the time same time. Thanks again :)
@@ChristopherDavidMitchell definitely will do.. One of my previous teachers was always trying to make me understand how to get the sound to resonate in the face mask more. I noticed this evening that by sticking my tongue out as you suggest in one of the exercises I could actually feel what I think resonating sound should/would feel like.. I may have that totally wrong. But it felt right to me. :)
I love you dude. After surfing through tons of videos like this, this warm-up video has become the one that I use literally every day. Thank you so much
Fantastic - have to sing this morning really wasn’t warmed up in rehearsal - went through this in the break and I feel good to go now ! Thank you very much !!
I have been using the mess out of this video!!! I wish I could follow along on my guitar I find it easier for me to hear the resonance when I have a physical instrument with me. I do get it a bit with the video. You've given me confidence to learn. I was told a long time ago I'd never be able to match pitch or sing... That drug me down for a very very long time
