I had vocal damage. I had a three hour show coming up and spent two weeks doing this every day and got through the show and my vocal cords are healing and I’m attributing much of this specific video to that healing.
It's a little late but I gotta say make sure you focus on technique, i.e. voice placement, diaphragm expansion, raised pelvic floor muscle, etc. Those are the 3 things I focus on anyway. edit 1 year later: now I focus on breathing into my tailbone or hips to maximize diaphragm expansion. Other than that, I drop my jaw, remember to open my mouth, and articulate like I'm speaking
Both, but definitely sing afterward! It's like improvising on an instrument after you've done some exercises. You put things into practice and learn what works
Hey Lindsey, if I'm doing an exercise where it goes too high out of my vocal range, should I switch to falsetto or just not do it at all? I don't know if it's doing more harm than good.
When you’re doing an exercise when you’re warming up, it’s actually a benefit if you go to your falsetto because it helps warm up your falsetto or head voice as well.
Hey. On the higher notes, say in We-ah, should we flip to falsetto or just back out if it feels too high. I don't think I should be straining for notes on a warm-up right?

I'm a Christian recording artist. Best warm ups!! Thank you!!
When is the next ten on ten? Been waiting since so long
So do these actually improve your voice or do they just warm you up before singing?
It does both! 😊
both
Both, but definitely sing afterward! It's like improvising on an instrument after you've done some exercises. You put things into practice and learn what works
We ya we ya
nice
That "minor pattern" gave me a surprisingly hard time. 😂
Anybody recognize the over the rainbow sound during the octave slide exercise?
I want to learn to sing
richard ortiz have you learned yet
I've seen a lot of comments about if it improves your voice, guys this is just to warm up, you gotta do this before your actual routine
piano is at different volumes. need headphones for this.
Why is this a part of Vir Das's Ten on Ten playlist?😂
I came here for #TenonTen but hey its knowledge
Why is this included in Vir Das's 10 on 10 playlist lmfao 🤣
Omg my mum just said
“Stop I told you to rest!”
Me: “I’m trying to sing”
Her:”really?”
Me: yeah did I sound like beyonce yet?
Her: UHhH yeA?
why is this in vir das ten on ten playlist 😂😂
Hey Lindsey, if I'm doing an exercise where it goes too high out of my vocal range, should I switch to falsetto or just not do it at all? I don't know if it's doing more harm than good.
switch to falsetto from what I’ve heard
You can drop the octave.
When you’re doing an exercise when you’re warming up, it’s actually a benefit if you go to your falsetto because it helps warm up your falsetto or head voice as well.
I'm wondering if Linsey is doing the female version or the male version- im confused, thanks
Just follow along one octave lower on the higher exercises..works great.. that's what I do :)
There is missing one Mi-Mah😂😂😂
For some strange reason my brain could not compute the aa-ee-ii- I had to skip it.
I believe there's a bigger joke incited with the previous 10 on 10 episode theme and the "mi mi mi mi"
And almost no one to get it XD
Or im reading too much into it and Vir Das just added this accidentaly to the wrong playlist instead of the private pre stand-up workout playlist
Is here actually from New Jersey
Is it ok if i do this w/ chest voice?
1:42 is when I start
Jungkook Daily vocal exercises please.
Hey. On the higher notes, say in We-ah, should we flip to falsetto or just back out if it feels too high. I don't think I should be straining for notes on a warm-up right?
I also assume we're doing it at your pitch and not an octave down.
Just try and stick with the notes, and if you feel any pain you're going too high or loud.
how long should a daily warm up last?
johannagrace nabua 20-60 minutes
At 6:14 are we supposed to have good or bad Vowels
Dependent on the style of music you are trying to sing but i would good vowels as it sounds better!
Try to say the vowels as best as possible while having the rigth transition and hold the tone.
Ok i was watching comedy by this dude called vir das, and for some reason this is the second last video, soooo
Is this for bass-baritone or tenor?
Busker Buddy I guess tenor
hiya how much to buy these vocal warm ups on cd in the uk please thank you ?
hey, i'm a girl but can i use this to improve my chest voice/lower range?
oh why of course!!!
That's what I do. I love singing low.
If you go to her other vids there’s one with female
Probably
I sing high tenor all the time (Steve Perry, Brad Delp)
I found out that im totally not from New Jersey
Will this have the same effectiveness if we did this exact exercise except with lip trills?
No; these consonants are important for proper resonance and breath control when singing real words
does it work?
Tarik Bas It does help me to add more bass in my voice at the end of the warmup.
Siva Samhit Vaddiparthi okey good
Try it for 6 weeks every day. I promise, you will not regret it.
