So people know - on December 15, 2023 I used the link from this video and DL'd the firmware installer to my Windows 10 PC. After I was done updating the speaker's firmware I didn't need to do anything else or install that other program to be able to start using the Spark Mini as a audio interface. I tested it with Audacity and was able to play and record. Nce. I love this option.
I wish I knew how helplessly clumsy all this was before I bought my Mini. That is, if I did, I wouldn't have. So here we are, using Focusrite ... again. Great video, tho! Thanks!
I can't believe you just have to plug it into a Mac and you're done. This PC setup has me at my wits' end. I just wasted so much time getting Waveform installed, logged in and it's so opaquely arcane it's hopeless.
I agree. Using this as an audio interface is kind of a last resort option. It’s cool they added that feature onto it but it should have at least been 24 bit 48khz .
I got it to work and it sounds worse through my speakers which are high quality compared to through the amp alone, but it's not ASIO because if I select ASIO, I get no sound...erh, why are computers so complicated? 😢
Need some help. Maybe you can give me some ideas. I want to get my spark mini to work with rocksmith 2014 so I can use the spark app to change the tones, adjust the audio and not have to deal with the ingame stuff that are terrible
Am using a PC Windows 10, (i also have a Windows 11 PC, same results) Abelton 11 and followed all your steps (all the latest drivers) and it's not showing up at all. It just keeps saying no device. The standalone Asio interface also can't see the spark Mini.... but audio played on my laptop does come through the device. Just can't use to input audio
Thanks for the vid, it worked (sort of?) I'm new asl to this DAW stuff and I was gonna use waveform like you did but when I tried to pick Asia4All v2 in the devices, it says "Error when trying to open audio device! Device didn't start correctly", but it connects fine in Reaper. Any ideas on why that may be and how to fix it?
can you use the spark mini as DI (direct input) and use a plugin in fl studio e.g neural dsp? so that you here the processed neural dsp sound instead of spark sound in this way i can skip my soundcard and use spark mini instead
Maybe try to see if loopy pro has a forum? Or maybe ask positive grid and see if they have a solution. You will need either an audio interface or an audio dongle so you can connect the spark to your phone for recording.
I tried it exactly your way, but I had some horrible cracking sounds on my recorded clip on ableton with the spark mini. Very unhappy with the spark mini recording and stability issues. 😞
Thank you so much for the 2 videos showing how to use Spark Mini as Audio Interface. I have tried the USB one with my MacBook Air 2015 (dual core i5 and 8G RAM) using the Studio One 6. I got some noise when I playing the guitar, tried playing around the buffer size/sampling settings and tried different USB port/cable, but didn’t help. Not sure is it about my laptop (too old) or something else 😭
@@m_valen17 thank you for asking. I tried it today after some SW updates, it was the same, buzzing when I hit the strings. And it was obviously got worse with lower sampling rate. It must be some issue with my laptop (maybe it is about time to buy a new one :P)
So I'm trying to set up mine of FL studio and when i select Positive Grid Audio Device it says "Not enough ASIO output channels" would anyone know what to do?
Hello, I am using the spark mini in a Mac Book Pro with M2 Pro and 16GB ram and Ableton. I am still getting latency issues, and if I reduce the buffer size the latency improves but then many craking sounds apear in the recording. Any solution to that? :(

Focusrite would be great if it wasn't that noisy
It works well for those who don't have an audio interface. If available, its a lot better using the 1/8 output to the audio interface.

they say all you need to do is plug Spark into a mac or Ipad. I wish a phone was enough....

I’m trying to use a spark go as an input to loopy pro for my iPhone/ipad. I can’t figure it out. Any recommendations for a how to guide?

Not sure if you fixed it but if you did all of that it you still get noise it might be the laptop that being that it is from 2015
