    That's quite an amazing piece of kit. It'd be perfect for someone like me who occasionally plays guitar to record.

      I was really surprised at how great this little amp sounds. I’m hoping to do some more videos on it soon. One where I use it for all the guitars and bass in a song. Thank you for continuing to watch and comment. I really appreciate it. Have an excellent Christmas (or other holiday). Keep creating! 👊👍

      Either use your iPhone’s built in mic or connect a mic or audio interface to your iPhone and record the amp like you would with any other amp.

    Did you also try the signal chain - Guitar/Base - Wah WAh Pedal (Cry-Baby for instance) into the Spark Mini and then into the audio interface? What cable do you you exactly use from getting the signal from the small jack 3,5mm into the bigger one of your combo-jack 6,3mm in your audio interface?

  • @louaguado995

    I do a lot of direct recording with my Zoom g3xn. It has 16 amps, 12 cabinets, and 2 microphones with a blend knob to pick one or another or both. Can also use USB direct or headphone/line out into an interface. The only downside is once you've recorded you're stuck with that sound. It's more versatile using amp sim's in your daw for more variety

    Can I use the USB method to just record the raw guitar (without any amps or anything) so that I can use the VSTs in my DAW? or using the Spark Mini tones mandatory?

    Can you use the headphone as a line out? like listen to the amp sound through amp, but get clean signal out?

  • @moosicmonkee3592
    @moosicmonkee3592 ปีที่แล้ว

    This thing looks awesome! What way has the least latency for recording? I had the big spark and it had some bad latency. I recorded into ableton live if that matters.

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't notice latency with any of the recording methods. If you have an audio interface that gets you low latency then I would recommend either using a mic or the line out but the built in audio interface didn't give me any noticeable latency. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

  • @wighatsuperreggie
    @wighatsuperreggie 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Am I the only one that gets major latency when I try to record directly into a computer? I’m using a Mac into logic with a spark go. Is there less of a latency issue with some of their other models?

    The amp can be used to record on garage band too with the usb method?

    • @AudioTechTV

      If you are using Garageband on your Mac computer, yes you will be able to use this through USB with it. If you're using Garageband on an iOS device then no.

  • @nebula_M42

    great video. quick question please: does this amp have enough input gain to record with an sm57? like some cards have a dedicated input for mics that boost the signal, will it work fine with a SM57? thank you

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s just a guitar amp and only has an instrument input in it. There isn’t a mic preamp so connecting a typical dynamic XLR mic to it wouldn’t be a good idea.

    • @wighatsuperreggie
      @wighatsuperreggie 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AudioTechTV I think they just mean, if you put an SM 57 in front of it, will it get enough signal?

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wighatsuperreggie it definitely has enough output gain for an sm57 which is simalar to the mic used in the video. But the question was asking about input gain.

    2:30 is it working like an external soundcard in the pc?

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. When connected like this it works like a sound card. You can have all of your audio run through it if you want and also record the input of it. Here is a video on how I set it up th-cam.com/video/zHui3W2DnXI/w-d-xo.html

  • @helmanfrow
    @helmanfrow ปีที่แล้ว

    For recording, a dedicated stereo line output would have been better. Or TOSlink. I'm unlikely to switch audio interface drivers in the middle of a busy recording session.
    Fun toy, though, otherwise

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Then why not use the stereo line out that it has built into it already? If you’re in the middle of a recording session I don’t think you would need to have your headphones and a line out connected to the amp at the same time as you would likely be using your headphones connected to your interface.

    • @helmanfrow
      @helmanfrow ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AudioTechTVYes, I suppose you're right but I get fussy about impedances and such. Maybe it would sound fine.

    using USB we cannot record in stereo, right ?

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. It’s only mono through usb so if you want to record with some of the stereo FX you should connect it with the line out to a stereo input.

    I bought this to amplify my acoustic uke as I play Irish trad and need a loud clean tone.This amp does NOT allow a loud clean tone as the Gain controls the volume .Not suitable for clean acoustic instruments like classical guitar or uke,mandolin.Great if you want to sound like Hendricks or Van Halen

    Dude, beginners do not know what "set it up in your DAW" means. So at this point I am stuck. Explain it to me like i'm 4 and have no experience.

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure where you got the idea that this was a beginners tutorial for how to set it up in a program. The intention of the video was just to show that you could record it 3 different ways. Positive Grid does have info on their website on how to do this. Maybe I’ll make a small tutorial on how to.

    • @Michael-ow8wi
      @Michael-ow8wi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AudioTechTV So if I have an iPad, I also need to use a computer to record if I am not just mic'd up? I just want to record what I am playing and see exactly how to do that.

      @@Michael-ow8wi I think you can record the spark mini in GarageBand on your iPad. But you might need to connect it by USB to the ipad. I haven’t tested this but I’ll give it a try when I get back to my studio.
