    Sorry to those of you wishing to see a video of my progress thus far. My next video will be of a practice session. However, this is a video that I have have a few people request and I was keen to know whether I could use the amp to record to Reaper. It therefore made sense to produce and release this one ahead of my planned schedule.

    Hey great video! Just wanted to add that when using the Spark as an ASIO input/output on Windows, the "Output" knob controls the amps volume like a monitor and you have to use the "Music Volume" knob as the actual ASIO output control(what Reaper sends).

      @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks and I am glad that you found it useful. It has been a while since I have recorded anything using the Spark and Reaper. Looking back at the video (09:50 onwards), I am listening to the Reaper output through the Spark Amp. I was not using my Focusrite during the production of this video. Perhaps you need to set the sound output device for your computer.

  • @robinwilliamson4171

    Interesting that you have gone Reaper, rather than the manufacturer's bundled software DAW.

    • @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney
      @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for commenting Robin. I have heard a lot about Reaper and I have seen a good number of experienced musicians migrating to it, so I thought that I would give it a go. Also, I often find that the bundled software with devices is often an older, or end of line version and you get into the software and then you end up spending more money buying professional licenses. I'm just not that skilled at the present time.

    • @JD-vj4go
      @JD-vj4go 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bundled DAW is just the free version you can download from presonus for free. It's not optimized or customized for Spark at all. You can use the Spark with any DAW you like.

    how do i record/connect this amp trough my focusrite audio interface?

    • @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney
      @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question and, although I have a Focusrite, this is not something that I have tried yet.
      Unless I miss understand what you are trying to do, I would assume that you would connect the spark to your computer (DAW) as usual and record the guitar straight into the DAW and then connect the Focusrite into the DAW separately to record the voice, second instrument and them mix accordingly.
      Again this is not something that I have tried yet though.
      Maybe someone that has tried will answer. In the meantime, let me know exactly what you need to achieve and I’ll let you know when I get the chance to check.

      @@SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney that is indeed what i mean, but i cant figure out how i get all the output only trough my focusrite (so i can keep my headphone connected to it). now if i want to record the spark amp automatically also is the output and that is what i dont want.

    • @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney
      @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am afraid that makes little sense to me. If you can see the wave form, then the track 'should' play. I assume that you have tried moving the waveform up to make the volume louder. Otherwise, I am at a loss as to what the issue might be. I assume that other things in Reaper play OK?

    How to record together guitar backing track and your guitar with spark amp connected to pc windows 10? If I try to record backing track from spark to reaper I just got recorded guitar signal without backing track.

    • @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney
      @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have only tried this once, a little while ago and I saved the backing track to one track in Reaper then played the guitar along with the backing track, saving the guitar into a second track in the DAW. This then enables you to mix the two as needed, add more tracks, etc.

      @@SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney when I jam with backing track I record guitar signal but because aux cable is connected to spark app I can't get backing track signal. If I try to record over bluetooth with usb attached on pc I don't get anything in reaper, neither guitar signal or backing track audio. • @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney
      @SypherLXVII-MySixStringJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not something that I have tried because I just use the Spark for my output. However, I 'think' that you would need to find a way of outputting your computer's output to another amplifier (I don't have the ability (cables) to do that). Sorry.
