I love how all the three magic types have different summoning circles that appear before the spell is cast. Light and Black magic have the circle hovering before the caster, light is golden, black is a pink-ish red. Meanwhile dark magic has this huge purple circle underneath the caster that looks like some kind of ritual, fitting for the obscure nature of dark spells. I just really like this detail, 3H graphics and animations in general really are bad, but the combat animations are just so cool (except for the fact that all combat arts look the same)
Oh... I didn’t think 3H graphics and animations were bad. I thought it was a great and beautiful game and I enjoyed looking at the nature in the monastery. Just appreciate it for what it is and the hard work put into it and try not to be picky.

But (and please don't get me wrong here I love 3H as a game) I cannot consider a turn based RPG that can't sustain a stable 30 frames per second and has washed up textures basically everywhere as objectively graphically good. I know it's because they still didn't have a huge budget when development for the game was in process, and I think some of the map designs (sadly only when zoomed in) as well as character models are pretty okay. I see the beauty in what the game has to offer visually, but simply taking a closer look at the market in the monastery should already show what I mean. And don't even get me started on how the game has no way of showing the player things that currently happen in the game besides the prerendered cutscenes. Even Fates and Awakening had some amount of ingame scenes and I think it is below 3H to be inferior to a 3DS game when it comes to visual presentation. However, in terms of sound design, I have to say that this game is one of the best I have ever seen in the JRPG scene. Sorry for the long answer, please don't take this as a front, I simply wanted to explain why I think the game doesn't look that great, but if you like its look that's okay too
And there's another cool fact about dark magic. If you look closely at the outer ring, you can see numbers and equations, showing that it's not natural magic, like light and black magic, that show crests and come more of a divine origin
I think Seraphim had the most disappointing animation, it should've had Sagittae's animation and Sagittae should have gotten something similar to Echoes
I actually kind of like how seraphim is this small holy orb that gets shot out, I just wish it had a bigger explosion at the end. But agreed, rip old sagittae it will be missed.
I hope in future games there will be magic like the SS spells in Radiant Dawn. Imagine Sanaki's sun-nuke spell but in HD also great video, love seeing all these compiled in one place :)
Ryan C I liked this game but it’s nothing compared to Radiant Dawn. I think the track was ENTIRELY unique, the magic system was at its peak and the usage of weapons system was arguably one of the best ones. I liked the idea of legendary weapons not having usage it just adds to the meaning of it as a whole.
Gore Gare yeah it’s impossible, but would be very lucky in the RNG department, since value’s are predetermined at the start of the turn for every character in play. So if a crit value of 44 on a specific character lands a critical hit, every weapon that character uses with a 44 crit rate will hit a crit. This also applies to the hit rate. If the opponent only has a 37 hit rate in combat, but they still manage to hit you, it will ALWAYS hit that turn, no matter how many times you retry it with Divine Pulse. Your only choice is escape if you don’t want to get hit. And because Lysithea is legit Glass Cannon: The Character, you will divine pulse a LOT. Especially if you ignore paralogues solely for the purpose of using Lysithea only. This also means Divine Pulse should be out of the question since the story says it’s Byleth’s and/or Sothis’s ability to do that. There’s a lot that can go wrong, especially if you want to be straight up Lysithea, no help from anyone else, no Divine Pulse. Also, no Thyrsus staff will hurt greatly if you choose not to do the paralogue because... questionable reasons. The point is, too many things can go wrong, and this is guaranteed, MANY things will for sure not go right. No one is lucky enough to do the whole game with RNG at their side 100% of the time. Also the first battle of the game ruins the entire playthrough, lol, you don’t have Lysithea then.
I'm more terrified of the fact that Luna had 103 might. Since it only has 1 might and ignores enemy resistance, that means Lysithea's Magic stat is a whopping 102! Like, holy shit, how do you even GET that much magic?

Miasma Δ (Delta) Mire B (Beta) Death Γ (Gamma) Swarm Z (Zeta) Banshee θ (Theta) Dark Spikes T (Tau) Luna Λ (Lambda) Hades Ω (Omega) Bohr X (Chi) Quake Σ (Sigma) Another bit of etymology trivia: Ragnarok and Fimbulvetr are related to two different types of Norse armageddon and have to do with their respective elements.

I usually like Lightning magic the most in terms of spell animations, (electric attacks and characters are usually my favorite, as I really like how it looks,) but with only three Thunder spells here, I have give Dark magic the spot as my favorite instead. This game did *far* more justice to the most powerful kind of magic then “Fates” and its *single* dark tome.
Bohr X sucks to fight against, it doesn’t kill you but just leaves you on 1 hp and it’s even worse on Maddening mode when there’s several enemies easily kill you even if you don’t get hit by it It’s a good thing that Elixirs and the Retribution gambit (or even the chalice) exist
That's a tough choice. 3H has solid base animations but has very low standards for creativity. Sword and Shield has terrible base animations but makes up for it with the cool animations of the attacks that come later in the game (signature moves, powerful moves above 70 power.). I'm gonna say Sword and Shield has better animations cause I have seen better animations from FE Shadow Dragon compared to FE3H, and keep in mind that neither pokemon nor gire emblem has gotten a console release in a long time.

@@Danny-mp8dq Tell that to Radiant Dawn's animations. Rexflame summons a giant lava field. Creiddylad swarms your opponent in radiant light. Cymbeline drops a giant sun on top of your opponents. In Shadow Dragon, Bolganone looks like the ground opens up and swallows the opposition in flames. When I see Bolganone in 3H, I don't see that at all. In Echoes, Sagittae makes the piercing sound of magic arrows filling your opponent. In 3H, Sagittae moves slow as heck and legit feels like you're using a bunch of magic feathers instead of arrows. Agnea's arrow is a great concept, but the animation for it looks absolutely sloppy. All I am saying is Pokemon stayed consistent in Sword Shield with the majority of its animations to past games. 3H didn't do the same; the only solid animations that stayed true were Excalibur, Bolting, Meteor, Fimbulvetr, and pretty much all the dark magics.

I know Intelligent Systems can do better than this... GBA Spell animations are quite good for their technical limitations. Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn is probably the best one i see. I want them to push to performance limit, with most flashy visuals when it comes to ultimate spells.
Is hard but not impossible. You have to tutor her in riding and reason. And set this as her goal. Then when you reach A in reason (pretty easy thank to her boon) I suggestion to train her in lance, decide you if keep reason as her goal or make lances and riding as her goals.
Dark Knight, not Death Knight. The Dark Knight class is available to all units at level 30 and will be guaranteed to pass an exam for the class if they have a C in lances, a B+ in reason, and an A in riding.
Technically Valflame doesn't exist in the Three Houses world. The reason it exists in Awakening is that the game takes place in the same world as the Geneology games. Then again this didn't stop them from adding Mjolnir into Fates but that looks to be a different one considering it has a completely different effect than Awakening and it's a C rank spell.

Lysithea is one of Jupiter’s moon and in FE3H she’s the only character with Luna. That’s a cute little touch they did there.

Technically Valflame doesn't exist in the Three Houses world. The reason it exists in Awakening is that the game takes place in the same world as the Geneology games. Then again this didn't stop them from adding Mjolnir into Fates but that looks to be a different one considering it has a completely different effect than Awakening and it's a C rank spell.
