Yeah the grey marble effect is one of my favourites, it's just a shame the pad wears so damn fast... Need a college sponsorship to keep buying fresh ones every 6 months 🙃
currently rocking an otsu for FPS games and the raiden for moba style games, I find the raiden works prety well with heavier mouse liek the g502 because of how slick the surface is, it makes it very easy to keep a solid grip on the mouse compared to other pads, but when using pads that aren't the raiden it feels slightly too slow. FPS games I can feel the speed too much though with Raiden, so Otsu will stay main fps pad.
Eek, i literally just searched for Hayate Otsu and... you've uploaded 4h ago. I kind of lost my passion for buying stuff to a point i want to sell some of my collection but today i woke with interested in Bolt , Katana and Otsu out of the blue. I do have the Raiden and Hien , but never clicked with the Hien. While the Raiden is fantastic, edges on mine are lifted and can't make it lay flat for the same of my life (mid) and simply gets dirty way too fast , which is not an issue with say Glorious Ice since it dries in seconds but that one has to be washed. Wish the speed diff between mid and xsoft wasn't as big as most says , it'd be a no brainer since i doubt anything can lift xsoft edges.
Yeah on some of the pads the base hardness doesn't really matter but the Raiden for example, performance and glide are both massively affected. It's great to hear you found this video and it helped you out though! It's exactly why I made it 🥲 Also, don't feel bad about selling or downsizing collections, if the mice and pads are bringing you enjoyment, just sell them and use to the money for something that will... Peripherals can be an addiction at times, we've all been there 🙃
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Am coming back to this video since it seems to be the best place to ask the following question : i noticed in another video that you do have Gigantus V2. Would you say the Zero Xsoft is worth it over it? The new logo one. I came across a local ad and it caught my attention since i wouldn't have to deal with customs , weeks of waiting etc. I came across reddit post stating how similar these two are. Unfortunately i have no other "generic" cloth pads such as Gigantus and Sense Core ( basically slightly thinner GV2 and tiny bit faster) hence why i ask for that specific comparison, everything else i own is either cordura , hybrid , glass.
Really depends on what the price of the Zero is but the X-Soft will feel unlike any other cloth pad tbh, it's incredibly squishy. Generally speaking the surface weave on most control pads will feel similar, but the zero is a little faster and smoother from memory. I suggest picking up the artisan if you want to experience an X-Soft base but otherwise it won't bring much to the table you don't already have
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews I have already experienced the X-soft base but on the Hien only which surprisingly is no that "soft" but have heard the base differentiated from model to model e.g. from Zero to Hien to Raiden. Also, is there any noticeable different between the old Zero and the new logo one? Someone had mentioned that the new one is smoother since i've noticed you have both on hand.
Yeah the Hien is a rough/hard weave on any backing. In terms of the Zero it's slightly smoother on the new one but nothing major, similar glide for sure
I think I'll be going with the Otsu, thank you. I'm coming from an Aorus AMP500 so very thin and no squish, what thickness of an Artisan pad would you recommend?
Soft is always the safest option but I'd also say that mid will work on smaller skates without bottoming out on the pad, especially if you have a heavy grip
Would you consider doing a video on your favorite mousepads? Maybe even categorize them by favorite speed, hybrid and control pads. You seem to have a great taste and so I think it would be an interesting video idea.
Oh it's 100% a different feel on the Otsu. Same speed generally but an even X/Y, it's just much less rough and abrasive. Lot more comfortable surface imo.
I was thinking about this in the future, but in all honesty there's already some pretty good guides on TH-cam. Assuming it's not a Shidenkai (which you can only really gentle wipe) all other artisan pads have two options 1) using a non-corrosive surface disinfectant and microfibre cleaning cloth to gently rub the surface in small circles, removing dirt and working in the disinfectant solution. 2) laying the artisan pad flat in a bathtub with a small solution of dish soap/cleaning solution in the water. You only really need an inch or two deep, just enough to cover the pad. Then use a facecloth or small cleaning rag to gently rub the pad in a circle motion working around the entire surface. Once you are satisfied all dirt is worked off, drain the bath and refil again at least twice with water (no soap) pressing and rubbing the pad to remove any soap residue. Leave your pad out to dry on a flat surface and not in direct heavy sunlight.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Thank you so much and for the fast response! I will do it exactly like this. Im quite new into Artisan pads and now its time for the first wash and i really wanna do it properly so thanks. fx hayate otsu v2 soft
I ended up with Raiden Mid which revived my super-heavy Logitech MX Master 3😑. I'd also bought Hien but it's uncomfortable to use without wearing sleeves.
I don't play a lot of competitive shooters anymore (and if I do, it's Apex), but more MMORPG's and strategy games. I'm sure going for a dedicated mousepad is a little bit overkill by most measures, but I want to treat myself! I imagine that a tactile or more "soft-accurate" response is what I will prefer over rapid smoothness (I'm not familiar with the mousepad-space, so I may bungle the terminology description here), but I get the sense that an Hayate-Otsu might serve me well? Anyone else have thoughts?
I'm a trashcan so around 3100 DPS/Tank and 2500~ sup Tank: flex everything but ball, tend to go Rein if he works for the map DPS: Hitscan (Cassidy, Soldier, Ashe, Reaper) with some tjorb where he works Support: Bap or Zen, Ana needs a galaxy brain to play well
I respect your opinion a lot, and I mean a lot. I would politely ask you to suggest me the best Artisan mousepad I should buy (besides the Zero, since I bought the Lanespelare and enjoy it very much). I am completely in love with your channel and a sub is the least I can do.
That's such a lovely comment, thank you! If you enjoy the Zero feel from the lanespelare, then maybe a good hybrid might be a complimentary pad. I always say that the Hayate-Otsu Soft is the best all rounder imo, has the control of a slower pad but the speed of a hybrid surface. Thanks for checking out the channel and I'm very grateful to have you!
Lethal Gaming Gear now does not stock Artisan Mousepads. LGG has created their own mousepads that compete with Artisan's quality, thus Artisan has ended the professional relationship.
idk if i should get soft or xsoft. have a zero. got a terrible slow spot even after washing. i like the speed but I do want good control and I heard otsu still has good control but is better on xsoft but I'm still unsure
So otsu gives the most control out of the artisan pads? Or which one would you recommend for a control pad, or if I’m looking for control should I look outside of artisan pads?
Hi, I watched your video, but still I'm still confused and I can't choose, I have a steelseries qck+ and I'm looking for something faster, when I flick it's really slow and it just hurts my hand, I have a finalmouse starlight mouse, could you advise me which one to try ? Thanks a lot
I appreciate the sub thank you! Otsu the X-Soft you'll notice the weave influence less but you'll also sink into it a lot more especially if you claw or use mice with small/dot skates. X-Soft is really ideal for mice with larger skates and/or people who fingertip or grip lightly. If you could only get one, id probably suggest the soft unless you already know you enjoy a really squishy surface with large pad skates.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews i have the soft and would like more stopping power. Despite playing track heavy games (like Overwatch and Apex) I'm jittery. I run a viper ultimate with superglides (will probably upgrade to the V2 pro viper). So I was aiming at the xsoft for that. Now I'm thinking maybe trying a Saturn is a better play, something slower
What's funny is that i use a P-51 mustang pad from pure trak and now your telling me i ordered a Japanese plane named pad. I got the hayate otsu soft. 😂
XL kinda large and the everything except the Shidenkai should last you a while. I'm 100% with you on them being far too expensive though, I don't really comment on value in the video because it's different between people but honestly, it's a pointless price:performance ratio when you can get like a $7 IKEA pad and still frag out.
nice video brotherdude =) Only one thing: You gave alternatives to the Zero, but none for the other pads. After the Zero Alternatives, i kinda expected alternatives to the other ones also, but its just a minor thing ^^
Fair and true, I'm actually looking to do a follow up video that specifically looks at best alternative for each artisan pad as a collection, so like a bunch of 30second reviews on a few pads that could substitute for each model! Hopefully you find that as useful too!
the problem with most mousepads is that dust and dirt is absorbed in the cloth, which increases friction over time. skypad uses glass which will not cause friction to change
Yeah sorry was covering a lot of pads so couldn't go deep on any one specific variant. Otsu mid makes the texture a lot more noticeable and makes the pad more consistent with different grips and skate sizes and is more like other pads. Soft and X-Soft are a more unique feel to artisan and will take some getting used to, especially the X-Soft. If you press the mouse down a lot you'll also find the X-Soft quite inconsistent as it slows the harder you press the mouse down into the sponge base.
i would say im a speed player and i need the good stopping power with precision for tracking and micro adjustments . I currently have the Hien Xsoft i actually love the texture of it and never bothered my skin. i love it, developed a soft spot in the middle which slows it down. I want to try the Otsu Mid or Soft but im not sure which is better for what im looking for. Im using the TenZ Finalmouse with superglide glass skates
Hey man, I keep coming back to this video bc of how watchable and informative you made it. Thanks so much. I do have a question Id love your help with. I have been using a G Pro X with tiger ice feet on a Hayate Otsu Soft. I need more control. its just too fast and not enough stopping power. What would you recommend I do? Im thinking I will try replacing the mouse feet with slower feet (tiger Arc 1) But I am wondering if I should buy a Zero soft instead for more control. What would you do (also, is the afro issue on the zero true? I dont live with animals, can it be avoided?)
Firstly, the white fuzz on the Zero is absolutely a thing, whether you have pets or not, the thing just attracts hair sadly. Zero is a solid pad but still on the faster side for control pads tbh. Corepads should slow the mouse down some on the same pad if that's what you're looking for, especially when broken in. Otherwise, you could try a more control focused pad like a Vaxee PA black? Glad you found the video so useful, looking forward to getting back to uploading now.
I just got my razer viper mini and it glides quite well on my generic (cleaned up) mouse pad. Actually, too well that it messes with my micro aim in valorant. I dont know if its because of viper mini skates, or mousepad. G102 lightsync wasnt that slippery. What artisan do you think should i get?
The slowest Artisan is the Zero but even that is still quite a fast pad. Honestly I'd always recommend the IKEA Lanespelare mousepad (plain black) for anyone wanting a solid control pad, and it's dirt cheap!
I was playing with Zowie G-sr, changed in to a Hien xsoft (fingertipgrip , no presure while using the mouse) after 4 months of use i feel like i can't micro ajust properly with it , idk what is going on but i don't like the mousepad , witch one would u recomend me , hayate otsu v2 soft or zero soft or even another toughness , Ty in advantage
I think the Otsu is a more versatile pad that can work for slower or high movement games. It'll also be a more natural transition from the Hien. Zero is always a good choice but you have to know it's going to be slower and will attract hair, if they aren't problems for you, then consider it too.
X-Soft is very soft and not really comparable to other mouse pads, I would only recommend X-Soft if you fingertip or use mice with large feet or you'll get scraping
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Thanks for the reply! I do use a combination of arm and fingertips, so I'll see how this workout for me. I'll be looking into getting some mouse feet. Possibly glass ones.
Hello. Thanks for review. I have otsu with superglides and I feel really slow with that. I am looking for shidenkai or raiden mid for my superglide feets. What do you think in comparison between shidenkai and raiden mid with glass mouse skates? Don't worry about control. I am a speed demon. Do you think there is massive difference between shidenkai and raiden. I would love to get shidenkai but I am playing a lot. Pretty sure it will have 2 month lifespan. If you compare them detailed with glass skates for me I will be really happy. Much appreciated for effort. Thanks
I tested both pads with glass for my review, didn't show the glass on Raiden because I thought there wouldn't be a huge amount of interest but it's crazy fast and has almost no control at all. There's even less control on the Shidenkai but as you said, you'll get through it fast if you play a lot. It actually wears down more on where your wrist touches the pad than anywhere else so if you use a sleeve or have your wrist elevated anyway, you might get more life out of it. Either way, Mid Raiden with Superglides is an absolute ice rink...
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Thanks for reply. The reason that i cannot use skypad or helios cuz they are hard pads and i rest my wrists on the pad. So you saying raiden would be good choice for durability/speed than shidenkai?

What are the obvious differences in control and speed between the soft and xsoft versions of the Hayate Otsu V2? I sort of claw-palm my EC3 without my wrist touching the mousepad and apply relaxed pressure with my arm on the mousepad for CSGO. Thanks for the video. I like your british humour. From a frenchman.
British "Dad" humour is very specific so I'm glad it comes across, I try not to take myself too seriously! With your grip/arm position the X-Soft and soft will be quite different in speed, the X-Soft will feel like a slower glide surface due to the weight a palm/claw applies on the mouse pressing it into the pad.

if you buy the shidenkai and dont like it, you can tear off the glass layer and clean it, its a normal hien under the glass coat
Yeah, neat little trick when you're done with the glass coating
The best review, hands down
Appreciate it! Hope it helped you find a pad and you stick around for some of the other content 🫡🙏
they need to make that grey shidenkai look for other pads too it’s actually so clean
Yeah the grey marble effect is one of my favourites, it's just a shame the pad wears so damn fast... Need a college sponsorship to keep buying fresh ones every 6 months 🙃
thank you for making this, i love this vid its so specific and gets all the points
Glad you enjoy it! 😬
currently rocking an otsu for FPS games and the raiden for moba style games, I find the raiden works prety well with heavier mouse liek the g502 because of how slick the surface is, it makes it very easy to keep a solid grip on the mouse compared to other pads, but when using pads that aren't the raiden it feels slightly too slow. FPS games I can feel the speed too much though with Raiden, so Otsu will stay main fps pad.
Otsu is a goated choice and totally underrated compared to the Zero
It's exactly why I made it 🥲
Also, don't feel bad about selling or downsizing collections, if the mice and pads are bringing you enjoyment, just sell them and use to the money for something that will...
Yeah 💯 it's in the plan, I just have a couple of time critical reviews to cover and some manufacturer overviews (X-ray pad guide, PureTrak guide etc)
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews That's great to hear. These reviews also sound pretty interesting. Looking forward to your videos. Cheers
great top fabric with delicate seam.
best artisan video i ever seen, gj man
Appreciate it! Hope the rest of the content doesn't disappoint
Review so good that an otsu comes in Monday...
I'm doing my part!
Excellent video as always! Do you think is worth change to Hayate-Otsu if I already own Hien. I play all types of shooters.
Oh it's 100% a different feel on the Otsu. Same speed generally but an even X/Y, it's just much less rough and abrasive. Lot more comfortable surface imo.
can you please make a guide how to wash the artisan cloth pads without changing its surface?
I was thinking about this in the future, but in all honesty there's already some pretty good guides on TH-cam.
Assuming it's not a Shidenkai (which you can only really gentle wipe) all other artisan pads have two options
1) using a non-corrosive surface disinfectant and microfibre cleaning cloth to gently rub the surface in small circles, removing dirt and working in the disinfectant solution.
Great to hear you've found a pad you're happy with, the Raiden really is a speedy boy... Hien is a wrist exfoliator 🤣
Hi, Do you recommend the Otsu Xsoft or Soft or the LG Venus Pro Xsoft for tracking games like Fortnite and a bit sensitive skin?
awesome review, thank you!
Ordered a Zero Soft XL as a replacement for an old Steelseries.
Been on Otsu soft for over a year now.
Can recommend
Otsu is the Artisan pad for men of culture 🧐
0:30 So the one and only choice for us germans than haha you got my attention
Great video! What’s your rank and who do you main in Overwatch?
I'm a trashcan so around 3100 DPS/Tank and 2500~ sup
Tank: flex everything but ball, tend to go Rein if he works for the map
DPS: Hitscan (Cassidy, Soldier, Ashe, Reaper) with some tjorb where he works
Support: Bap or Zen, Ana needs a galaxy brain to play well
The HAYATE OTSU is in stock on artisans website
Gotta go fast!!!!
Another banger 🔥
We only make hits here Phil!
Good Enough Surfboard reviews when is the real question!? 🧐🧐🧐
Where are you located? Ik a friend who has a small mousepad business he is trying to grow but can only ship in UK ❤
Lethal Gaming Gear now does not stock Artisan Mousepads. LGG has created their own mousepads that compete with Artisan's quality, thus Artisan has ended the professional relationship.
Yeah, it all got a bit messy there...
the artisan English version of the website is completely broken and doesnt work
For me, Otsu is better than anything else in the lineup. Love my Otsu Soft.
Otsu is the sleeper king
idk if i should get soft or xsoft. have a zero. got a terrible slow spot even after washing. i like the speed but I do want good control and I heard otsu still has good control but is better on xsoft but I'm still unsure
Otsu Xsoft is firmer then a zero Xsoft because of the harder weave tbh, it'll still be quite a squishy base though if you go Xsoft regardless
So otsu gives the most control out of the artisan pads? Or which one would you recommend for a control pad, or if I’m looking for control should I look outside of artisan pads?
Zero has the most control but it's still on the faster end of cloth surfaces tbh. A QcK will be slower for example
Hi, I watched your video, but still I'm still confused and I can't choose, I have a steelseries qck+ and I'm looking for something faster, when I flick it's really slow and it just hurts my hand, I have a finalmouse starlight mouse, could you advise me which one to try ? Thanks a lot
Hayate Otsu soft vs xsoft, what's your favorite? (I don't think you covered that for the otsu) Great video, subbed.
Awesome video dude
Thank you! We grinding as much as possible!
Great video. Still won't buy Artisan products though because it's too expensive + not durable + small.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews that's a good idea =)
Thank you! Once I have space between product releases its top of the list to film!
Do you have any idea what artisan mouse pad I should go if I'm using a spandex cloth mouse pad?
the problem with most mousepads is that dust and dirt is absorbed in the cloth, which increases friction over time. skypad uses glass which will not cause friction to change
I'm still lost as to what you'd pick with the Otsu? Mid, soft, or extra soft? Your explanation of mid is pretty vague.
For the Hayate Otsu which hardness is the best?
im thinking of getting one as i prefer a perfect balanced pad
Soft
Great video, thank you!
Im thinking I will try replacing the mouse feet with slower feet (tiger Arc 1)
But I am wondering if I should buy a Zero soft instead for more control.
Great vid, earned the sub sir
Appreciate it!
4:44 either you have groped to many swimmers or I have not groped enough
Up your grope game!
What if you have glass mouse skates? Should I consider a mid if have glass mouse skates since mid has a little more resistance.
For Hungary is good to got the pad from the artisan webside
I purchased an artisan raiden xsoft mousepad size M but I don't know if this size is long enough, I had to buy size L
Zero is always a good choice but you have to know it's going to be slower and will attract hair, if they aren't problems for you, then consider it too.
which pad did you end up getting and how is it?
Awesome video, man! I have a logitech gpx. Mostly just play CSGO and run on an edpi of 688. Would you say the Zero XSoft is the best for my case?
X-Soft is very soft and not really comparable to other mouse pads, I would only recommend X-Soft if you fingertip or use mice with large feet or you'll get scraping
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Thanks for the reply! I do use a combination of arm and fingertips, so I'll see how this workout for me. I'll be looking into getting some mouse feet. Possibly glass ones.
No problem let me know how you get on, sorry for the late reply, took a little break from uploads/channel with a lot of things to take care of irl
So how did you find xsoft zero working with gpx?
Yes, if you rest your wrist on the pad you will wear down that patch on the Shidenkai quite quickly.
great video! so helpful, thank you for the effort.
Bro I’m playing R6 and I’m looking for the one that has smooth surface and doesn’t hurt my wrist. Also, I need it to be fast but has some controls.
Can you help me plz?
I think Otsu mid or soft would be the best one but I’m not sure.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Thank you for your answer. 😊
Have a good day.
You're welcome! Any other questions, I'll be here!
Thanks for the video
Appreciate the comment, glad you liked it!
I still using my old qck heavy now i feel the mpad is little bit slow
My edpi is lil bit high 1200edpi
I play apex now i want some more speed then qck so what i buy sir? Hayate otsu ithink?
Need more speed for tracking on apex
Sry bad english..
Cz now i feel sometimes doing micro adjustmen in my old mpad is hard
And i use logitech gprox superlight
Ithink hayat otsu? But soft / xsoft?
I'd always say soft is the safest option
I alrdy bought it the xsoft and soft
For under 1200 dpi user is better
To xsoft for me
Soft is so cringe its like fast and controlable so formme its better go xsoft / just go hien😂
Good to hear you've found the right pad for you! Enjoy them!
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews yess
This is very good quality
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Ive got a Hein soft Otsu xsoft and Zero soft alongside a skypad
“Have you ever had a dream that you….could do anything?”
Is there any artisan deskpad that allows keyboard to sit on it as well? Or is it just strictly mouse only pads?
Nope, largest they do is an XL size unfortunately... if you want to flex though you could buy 2 and stuff one under your keeb 🤣
Quick question I decided on the Otsu soft but what size would you recommended I was thinking medium is fine.
All depends on your 360/cm really, the medium is quite small if I'm honest, usually most people go with Large or XL for first person shooters at least
Hello I live in France, can I buy artisan mousepad on their website directly or i need to buy their mousepad on maxGaming (i didn't understand what you said in the video)
I think you can buy it from Artisan Japan website in most countries but postage is kind of high. In France you might find MaxGaming cheaper
Great video
Thank you!
