Fully agree with Kamal. Love both movie and book. Karunasena Jayalath is a fantastic writer. However, his stories towards the end were too inclined to politics. I read the book first as a teenager and then watched the movie many years later.

I happened to watch this movie when I was a school boy of 16 years.When ever I hear this song , I become infatuated with flashbacks of strong emotions linked to my childhood .
Golu Hadawatha (Dumb Heart) first became popular among us during our school days. We were in such isolation at school then. Those of us who have read the novel have a great desire to see it after it is made into a movie. Since we were in school, we did not have a deep knowledge of cinema and music. But I was very happy to see the film. But in the end there was a strong sympathy for Sugath. I remember my friends later telling to the girls that none of us would give Weralu. I still remember that some boys asking the Weralu from the girls. This song sung by Indrani and Sisira were not in the movie. But a build after the story. School-age love is often limited to memory. today I am living abroad, my first love also the same and ended with so sadly same way. When you hear this song, the past comes to mind. But I was not shaken by past experiences and became success. May the Triple Gem bless you all.

Nice to know you are niece of Sudesh, an iconic actor whom we love a lot as teens.He was the best friend of Sugath in the film Gol Hadawata. I remember well he induced life to the romantic song " Ava Pemwatha yanne " in Sweep Ticke with Vijitha Mallika. I was so heartbroken of his premature death.
