you are very quickly becoming my favorite clarinetist! your sound is just so calm and natural. you made this piece sound like it was written for clarinet and isn't a monster to play on our instrument. you made it sound like you just sat down to play Mozart's Clarinet concerto. that's how natural it feels. although I agree that we can always find ways to improve, I believe this performance was flawless
That was brilliant and not just from a technical point of view. You have a very fluid approach and your tone remains the same throughout the entire range, no small feat. Bravo!!!
I don't typically enjoy clarinet that much... but you're starting to change my mind. You play so cleanly and musically while making it look easy. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
you should try listening to some of his other fantastic works and Martin Frost. They are exquisite maestros. 2023 edit: THEY DID A COLLABORATION TOO OMG
Mille mercis !
Superb in every way! No need to apologize "for the few slurs" that Paganini himself may have actually liked, especially on clarinet. Impossible to know what his thinking would have been, especially from our 21st century viewpoint.
Dear Nicolas, you have a great mission in the Art, specially music. You are one of the best carinetist of the XXI century, that introduce a new style of interpretation and absolut techinique control, fingers and breath in complete sintony. Everything looks like "too easy" in you performance. Did you you write a book with foi method? The word needs you. Congratulations, my friend, good and blessed career for you!🙏🏻,Thank you!
Grandiose ! Ah, ca me fait rêver... Merci !
It’s a great privilege to hear you play. I have never heard playing that came even close to yours - on any instrument. That you can do this with a clarinet is astonishing. I hope the world appreciates!
This is my very first video of yours and all I can say is WOW. I’ve had a clarinet for 20 years this July and I clearly haven’t been practicing right lol. I know you said double tonguing and I know what that is but I don’t know how to do it when I play. I know you say “deh-geh” when playing but I still don’t even say “ta” “ti” or “tu”
Wow that tounging tho I wish I could be like you someday actually my sound quality is good and I am good at sight-reading but my problem is how to do a double tounge? I'm struggling for 2 years I don't know how to do it sometimes i wanna quit but when I saw your video maybe I can be better just like you
You’re right, it was one of my first videos and the camera was way too close, but the problem is resolved now, hope you’ll enjoy the more recent videos!
Just watching this guy circular breath made me dizzy. I could feel a strong need to exhale the whole time. The clarinet is so efficient at it's air use, it's difficult to use up an entire lung full of air before you need to breath, so when you circular breath a long time, you tend to end up with extra air you need to exhale some how before you can inhale more fresh air. You get plenty of oxygen but carbon dioxide can start to build up if you can't completely empty your lungs.

I see 4 dislikes. How can anyone NOT like a great musician?? Perhaps it is envy?
I really enjoy your playing.
Thank you so much Raúl !
Paganini!?
On the clarinet!? You are truly a master!! Bravo!!

Daniel Gonzalez thank you Daniel !
Effortless! Such gorgeous clarity. Love the pure pleasured grin at the end. Lol. TY for sharing your gift.
Thank you so much Julie, appreciated !
Incroyable!

Thanks so much Elise !
Those of you who thought Alexey Gorokholinsky's recording was fake, now you know that it's possible! Nice one, Nicolas.
Shit like this should have millions of views. The amount of work this takes…
Circular breathing at its best! Bravo!!!
Amazing performance!! Also nice Twoset shirt haha
I've literally played clarinet for 12 years and I am blown away by how you even play this. Best I can do is the mozart clarinet concerto lol.
At first, I thought I was playing it at 2x speed, like how I watch most of my TH-cam videos. Nope. Wow. Amazing performance!
Fast Semi quaver studies are always hard and you made this extremely musical.
The tounging is great and great work.

Hi, any tips for circular breathing? Like how can I learn it etc.
Wow that tounging tho I wish I could be like you someday actually my sound quality is good and I am good at sight-reading but my problem is how to do a double tounge? I'm struggling for 2 years I don't know how to do it sometimes i wanna quit but when I saw your video maybe I can be better just like you
It's like you go ti ki ti ki over and over again
there are some good videos on youtube on double tounging , you bust practice tenuto, not staccato. That is very important not many people understand.
I'm a flute player we all double tongue to hear it on the clarinet like this is amazing.
Wow ❤️
Bravo ! C'est du détaché simple ?
Merci !
What mouthpiece are you using
Well guess its time to go and try to find some or these caprices arranged for clarinet😅
You can find the originals on IMSLP if you're willing to transpose, transpositions might also be there
hes a god
Vous pourriez faire le 24ème ?
Ft french horn?
