    Very helpful. I'm doing Skippers Unlimited Waters course at the moment and unfortunately my facilitator at the college is fuckin useless at teaching. So this vid gave me a clear idea of what I am supposed to be doing

    I have a question in getting the Dlong. how 003°32'W Instead of 004°32'W?

      With this calculations one makes faults very fast. It is better to put in all in minutes, dan make the difference and you will see that there are 212 minutes left. This is 3x60 minutes = 180 minutes, what is left is 32 minutes. So in total 3h32 min.

    Sir can I ask when you calculated Departure why you transposed the SinCo = Dep/Dist to Dep = Dist x SinCo correctly with the Multiplication but when you calculated D'long you went from Cos m'lat = dip/d'long to D'long = dep/cos m'lat?? no multiplication here? this part is really tripping me up.

    I suppose that 003°32'W is the departure, not DLong, since it is not on the equator, right?

    One question friend. When calculating Distance when do you use Sin Co formula and when Cos Co? Because I seem to get different results depending of which one formula I use, or I have made a mistake. Thank you.

    • @seashellshore9997
      @seashellshore9997  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice that you asked that. Sin Co and Cos Co formula shall give similar results for Distance. There might be an error with your calculation which you need to check, if you are getting different values.

    • @seashellshore9997
      @seashellshore9997  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in reference of this video, you can have a look : 06:50 mins - Dist is calculated by Sin Co formula. If you use Cos Co formula putting the correct values, it gives the same result for distance. Check it out!

    I have a question friend in 6:03. Where did you get the 20°38.6'? I'v tried solving Tan but the outcome is 20.64° not 20°38.6'. How did you get that? Pls enlighten me.

    • @seashellshore9997
      @seashellshore9997  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. Agree with you, on the calculator, you must be getting 20.64° . Next up, you multiply 0.64 X 60 which comes out to be 38.6.
