Fantastic video ! Very well explained, I'm sure with repeated viewing and practise one would get a better understanding and learn to appreciate the study more ,thank you 🙏 sir !
Explaining the video using English is a well job. I wish you all the best and keep going to make this kind of videos. It's very useful for students who still studying.
Hi Sam. These videos are fantastic for me as I prepare for my oral exams and I thank you for your hard work. I am wondering if you might consider making these videos in the future in a landscape mode rather than portrait view as the youtube platform shows your videos on a landscape format. When it comes to reading the smaller parts of your videos such as the excerpt from norries tables, it becomes very small and difficult to read, especially if viewing from a smaller screen such as a tablet or phone. As I said. the videos are very helpful and this small change would be really beneficial :)
Hi Jordan, good to hear from you. Thanks for your suggestion. will definitely incorporate it. Always feel free to send me such valuable feedback:) Stay safe.
Please find formula to calculate meridional parts. Latitude in decimal degrees, E3=radians(lat), E4=radians(45+lat/2), Meridional part= 7915.709468*(LOG(TAN(E4)))-(23.268932*SEN(E3))-(0.0525*SEN(E3)^3)-(0.000213*SEN(E3)^5) Many thanks for your teachings.
First of all, thank you very much captain for these useful lessons online, This one in particular, was very very helpful. However, how can I know, in a sailing puzzle , when you give me the coordinates of both departure and arrival positions, if I should depend on the formula of plain sailing or the formula of mercator sailing?! I initially don't have any idea what the distance would be?! And I can't calculate the distance util I calculate the course?!
In the academy in Latakia- Syria, they tell us, to depend on the following formula DMP = d . lat. / Cos mean lat. In order to find out the DMP in a mercator sailing. They don't rely on the meridional parts tables. What is your opinion about that?! If you think this is incorrect, please message the Syrian Academy for navigation and maritime technologies.
sir if the vessel was coming to east to west from the same long which is given in the question so he would going to easterly direction am i right sir plz comment and let me know if im correct then it means that i understand sir!!!!
I'm impressed with your explanation
Thank you for the good explanation and professional teaching

Sir can do one example on mercator sailing.
why we use 57.3degree for find initial gm in gz curve.
