3-4 years ago, there's a harness called "5-pin to .187" cable" if you want to replace the stock microswitch/PCB assembly with the microswitches you bought...
hi, Im also using Hori Hayabusa Real Arcade Pro V, playing Tekken, and I must say I kinda hate its stick. When I do while rising (hold down then release the stick) my character jumps or sometimes side steps upward. Its recoil is so strong that it goes to the different direction after release. How can I fix this?
get a bigger spring, 2 lb one maybe ? But ive heard some ppl say even thats not enough. But its prolly worth a shot considering how cheap these parts are.
Its not too cheap tho but its cheap compared to madcatz'... Im considering buying sanwa stick. I dunno if its stiff like the sticks on the arcade cabinets.
How come nobody who advertises this stick says that it wiggles back to neutral? I have tried to brand new joysticks of this, and they both wiggle back to neutral. Meaning if you're playing something like 3rd strike, say goodbye to red parties. Also try something harder like Ibuki's SJC ultra... You can do hc's and what not, but if you let the stick go, it might another direction.
You do realize that Sako uses this stick and does SJC Ultra all the time, right? What do you mean by wiggles back to neutral? You mean wiggles back after you let go? Because you're not supposed to let go of the stick during an input. That makes no sense. Almost all sticks go back to neutral after letting go. That's how neutral is SUPPOSED to be accessed.
Do I have to explain wiggling? Frankly, I don't care if Sako uses this. If you let it go, it WIGGLES, like it shakes and hits other directions sometimes. Yes the other sticks do it, but this one just goes haywire. Any of my other sticks do NOT do this and if they do, they just wiggle within the boundaries of the middle and not hit another direction. And YES, you do need to go back to neutral if you want to do red parries. Red parry = after a block animation, immediately let stick go back to neutral then tap forward, which means you CANNOT hold a direction to do this for an instant. Plus, if I want to just just stay still after something like for example, someone traded with me and did a straight up super like shinryuken, I might want to stand perfectly still instead of causing a block animation because some characters hit boxes actually force you to get block animation that would stick out more than a stand which will cause no animation. Hence the important of not wiggling. If I have to do a video of it, I can. I have two of these joysticks and they are just collecting dust. Thankfully I got them for free.
I replaced the square plate with an sanwa octagonal gate. At first it was okay but now I can feel the huge opening. I might just switch back or tryout the kowal restrictor plate.
I have a Hayabusa lever that feels clunky after years of use. I was wondering if I should just swap the lever or maybe taking it out and putting some grease on it will solve the problem? What do you think?
could someone recommend any videos on how to install the shaft it literaly just popped out while playing 2 days after i modded the gate and the spring but was sure everything was in right. i have a hori rap n its my first stick and ik the parts to the shaft go under the plate and microswithes but have no idea on how to assembly them any tips would be great
hi I have a old school hori wondering will this breath new life in it i have hori fightging stick ss i use on pc and my saturn would love to upgrade stick portion
Hey LowFierce I have a super street fighter 4 TE stick that I wanted to change some stuff out. What would I need to do to get this stick working with my setup? I'm going replace my Sanwa Denshi buttons with the Sanwa Denshi 30mm SILENT Pushbuttons (OBSCS30).
+Abel Perez Not to my knowledge. FocusAttack.com had those plates manufactured in conjunction with Kowal. You can try searching other arcade stick part eshops.
I have an Eightarc fusion arcade stick. I've modded it with an Etokki Crown 303-FK KOREAN JOYSTICK; but that was just days right before Hori announced the Hayabusa and Kuro for separate purchase. I'm considering converting to a Hayabusa; but I want to know if it will fit.
I'm pretty sure the stock Eightarc Fusion came with a Sanwa JLF installed. If you didn't change any of the mounting hardware, the HORI Hayabusa should be a direct fit.
Does the Hayabusa have a stiffer spring making the lever maneuvering more difficult or does it maneuver with more ease than a standard Sanwa? Or is it practically the same feel of movement just one is slightly more responsive than the other?
i want a more softer feel than sanwa,i have weak wrists, and i want something softer,is hayabusa the right stick for me,i am thinking to buy it,cause sanwa make my wrist tired after some hours
Hey man, i just wanted to say I have tried to use Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate for JLF Joysticks, and it works :O, Im having some problems adjusting from square to octagonal but it feels great, and the best of it all it fits perfectly. :D Just wanted to tell you in case someone in the future asks you.
Not with this housing no, but I'm guessing there'll be an official or unofficial product (depending on who chucks it out first) that will fit the Hayabusa's base and replace the square gate. I've never really liked or hated square gates. Hitting straight angles are awkward, but tolerable.
Pete HrapStick Octagonal gates are the preferred choice for executing special moves. However I have since switched back to square gate in preparation for using the Hori Hayabusa and I must say that I have dropped a few half circle commands here and there but otherwise either gate is fine for your needs. As long as you know where your hands are you'll be fine, if not then octo is better
Pete HrapStick My neutral game with both gates is the same in a wide range of fighters so how would someone's neutral suffer with using an Octagonal gate?
Hello, i have a question hopefully u will answer this, can u test the hori rap hayabusa stick when play tekken? And give the review, because ive got a problem using this when play it.
BChaos rath thank God I found someone else with this issue: googled it and there’s absolutely nothing on it anywhere on the internet. I know practically nothing about modding etc so I hope someone with more knowledge in this field, like LowFierce, could explain why it happens and whether or not it’s something to worry about.
Mustafa Hussain yeah we are best friends now haha joking aside, i dont know if He Will say something. Hes not very active from What i see. Maybe we should email hori...
BChaos rath haha yeah; I’m thinking of just replacing the spring. Perhaps to a 2lb or a Sanwa stock spring if that’s different to a Hayabusa stock spring. I’ve read about people trying to contact Hori about it and they’ve had no response. My 90 day warranty is almost up so I’m about to say “fuck it” and just fix it myself.
I definitely thing I'm gonna switch to the Omron switches in my Hayabusa. I like the ability to use different microswitches, but I don't really like the overall presentation. I think they should have spent more time on the restrictor plate. Unless they're interchangeable with the GT-Y and the square gate version
Regards, I would help, I bought Sanwa gt-and octagonal Restrictor plate for jlf Joysticks, but I have a HORI Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai (Red) controller for PlayStation 4, it will be what the Sanwa Rescator brand is compatible with and what the This arcade is HAYABUSA brand. Please your help many thanks and congratulations for your channel.
I'm a noob in modding. I have a Hori Real arcade pro V3:SA. I want to swap out the stick to a Hayabusa. My sanwa stick appears to have a deadzone after months of playing. I cant seem to find any vids showing how to swap out the stick only
Well, you'd have to open the case up by removing the screws from the back. Then put a flathead screwdriver to the bottom of the stick to twist the balltop off, and then you can remove the screws from the stick itself connecting it to the base. Just take care to know what orientation the plug is for when you install the new stick. Once that's all done, you can install the new stick with the same screws, dust/shaft covers, and then seat the plug in. It should work fine, but you would have to test the stick before screwing the back back on. There are a bunch of videos on swapping the sticks out, so you should be able to find some to your needs.
idk if this question has been repeated, but, i have the "RAP HAYABUSA PRO.V" i was wondering if it is possible to install a Sanwa joystick in this controller. I've been wanting to play with an 8way restrictor and I know that you can not modify the stick, so I was wondering if I could just swap out the whole stick itself into a Sanwa? thank you for any suggentions.
+pderly You could now look up the Kowal Octopus Octagonal gate at focusattack.com, since its currently the only octagonal gate thats fully compatible with the Hayabusa stick. I have one and it is amazing. I also recommend you bundle it with the Kowol 1mm oversized actuator. I got my parts 2 days ago and they've helped improve execution significantly dude.
Pete HrapStick If you're currently using a Sanwa stick for Tekken, then you don't want to use a Hayabusa for Tekken either. Getting a Korean joystick (Crown/Fanta) is a tried & true, proven commodity for 3D Fighters.
Pete HrapStick That's what I'm trying to tell you: If you use a Sanwa now for Tekken, the Hayabusa is almost the same thing. And just to clarify, I don't play Tekken, so I've never done EWGFs on a Hayabusa.
Hello, if you could please answer a question..I just bought a Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai and it has the Hayabusa Joystick. Is it normal, that the Stick is rotatable? If i Pull up (like out)the Stick and see beyond the black cover thing around it and rotate, I see that the Ball and the Stickbody rotate together. So the Ball is not loose. Thought its kind of weird to have that Ball rotate in my hand while i move it. But its my first Fightstick, maybe thats normal. Thanks in advance for the answer.
Mutassem ALSulaiman I don't have much exposure with X-Arcade sticks, but if they're made out of MDF / pressed wood like I think they are, it may require some additional drilling and/or cutting.
The Hayabusa is kind of in a class by itself. I actually use both Sanwa & Seimitsu sticks and I find the Hayabusa more similar to a looser Seimitsu, if that makes any sense.
ive beem a samwa fanatic for years. swapped all my hayabusa parts for sanwa and i thought sanwa was way better. now i got a hori RAP N to be able to play 3rd strike on ps3. will keep it STOCK! feels more plastiky but it's a charm

THAT GRAN TURISMO MUSIC THO
you got great execution skill.
capcom vs snk music in the background. Love it.

Mon G i meant the spring was cheap, not the entire fight stick =D
but yeh, replacing the hayabusa joystick with a sanwa joystick is also an option
Hahahaha! Ithought you meant my stick...XD ARCADE STICK.
Will the spring be available at any hardware stores....?
umm should be, look for something like this
www.focusattack.com/2lb-tension-spring-for-sanwa-jlf/
what buttons on that stick?
Does anyone know what type of screws I would use to attach the restrictor plate? I misplaced the original plate and don't have the screws anymore

LOL, I'll make a video today.
***** lol okay
Gran turismo 2 soundtrack taken me back . Love it
I replaced the square plate with an sanwa octagonal gate. At first it was okay but now I can feel the huge opening. I might just switch back or tryout the kowal restrictor plate.
How to I rewire the Cherry switches? Do I have to solder or can I just attach them with the sleeve and some electric tape?
I have a Hayabusa lever that feels clunky after years of use.
I was wondering if I should just swap the lever or maybe taking it out and putting some grease on it will solve the problem?
What do you think?
Idk after a month using this joystick playing sf it gets stuck on inputs mostly like down and i get crouching out of nowhere..
Nate Rush you can buy a new one and install it. £30

Hi how are you? The Hori Hayabusa Joystick on Rap 4 have optical sensor? Thanks =)
Sorry for the answer...
It work with Link quick release shaft (Sanwa edit) ?
I have an Eightarc fusion arcade stick. I've modded it with an Etokki Crown 303-FK KOREAN JOYSTICK; but that was just days right before Hori announced the Hayabusa and Kuro for separate purchase. I'm considering converting to a Hayabusa; but I want to know if it will fit.

i want a more softer feel than sanwa,i have weak wrists, and i want something softer,is hayabusa the right stick for me,i am thinking to buy it,cause sanwa make my wrist tired after some hours
+MetatroN197924 The HORI Hayabusa stick has a slighter feel vice the Sanwa JLF.
Do you know what kind of restrictor plates i can use? I want to change mine into an octagonal restrictor plate
To the best of my knowledge there doesn't seem to be any octagonal restrictor plates available on the market. Sorry!
Hey man, i just wanted to say I have tried to use Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate for JLF Joysticks, and it works :O, Im having some problems adjusting from square to octagonal but it feels great, and the best of it all it fits perfectly. :D
Just wanted to tell you in case someone in the future asks you.
Raizur How does it work? You have to screw holes in it via modding right? It's not just plug & play.
Would this be compatible with a Eightarc Fusion?
Is the balltop 30mm or 35mm?
It's a 35mm balltop.
Is there a way to have an Octagonal gate with this stick?
Not with this housing no, but I'm guessing there'll be an official or unofficial product (depending on who chucks it out first) that will fit the Hayabusa's base and replace the square gate.

+MadMar83 FocusAttack.com sells an octagonal gate for the Hayabusa @ www.focusattack.com/kowal-hayabusa-octopus-octagonal-restrictor-plate/
Is the default actuator in the hayabusa fine with the D2RVGs?
The default actuator is fine with the silent switches. I've also know players whom use the Kowal Actuator inside their Hayabusa.
***** You can't really install a JLF gate into this particular stick, but I do believe that a Kowal Actuator fits easily.
Nice video. I traded my hayabusa sticks for sanwa jlf from my two PS4 vlx sticks but thinking about going back to the Hayabusa.
Dude, my Hayabusa lever for the Tekken 7 edition has a "springy" Sound and feel. Is it normal or should i send ir to repairs?
BChaos rath got the same issue on my RAP 4: I hear a ‘ping’ sound really often and I have no idea if it’s a defect.
Mustafa Hussain exactly. A "ping" sound. Would be good if ee had some clue of What it is
BChaos rath thank God I found someone else with this issue: googled it and there’s absolutely nothing on it anywhere on the internet. The stick install part appears to be mirrored... confusing!!
You mean the actual internal control panel is mirrored? Or the video is mirrored?
LowFierce
Sorry, my mistake. I originally thought the video was mirrored. Whichever way the VLX opens up, I had mixed up.
is it hard with this stick to dash
Na

I want to know how this stick does with tekken.
Pete HrapStick What stick do you currently use for Tekken or other 3D Fighters?
LowFierce Sanwa. I want me some of that Crown but i wanna see how the hayabusa does

I would like to know if the 2lb Tension Spring for Sanwa JLF would fit on the Hori Hayabusa Joystick installed on the Rap 4 Kai ? thanks
knottykid It will
Can I install this easily to my X-Arcade stick?
Probably, but not without some modifications to your stick though.
hi .. what type of modification ? I was thinking of just buying the buttons and the stick and try to replace .
Mutassem ALSulaiman I don't have much exposure with X-Arcade sticks, but if they're made out of MDF / pressed wood like I think they are, it may require some additional drilling and/or cutting.
Well, you have to buy an universal mounting plate, like the one at Paradise Arcade Shop...
I honestly hope they release a 8 way restrictor for this later.
BTW sorry for the double post, how does this stick fare compared to Seimitsu or Fanta? (TBH I am not a Sanwa fan, I stay away from it if possible)
The Hayabusa is kind of in a class by itself. I actually use both Sanwa & Seimitsu sticks and I find the Hayabusa more similar to a looser Seimitsu, if that makes any sense.
Makes enough sense to me. I'll like it, then :D
I hope it works for VF5FS (playing that game with Sanwa = headaches).
@@TheTrueBro I rock an LS-40 with a 4 lb. spring and bat top for VF
gran turismo tune though 5/5 (Y)
You're a man of great wisdom and taste!

Hayabusa levers are oversensitive. I recommend Sanwa JLF levers because they are not oversensitive.
sanwa is way better, stiffer and less wiggle, firm and tight.
Hyabusa are better if you switch the springs, try it.
jlf is crap in my opinion, hayabusa is much more of my cup of tea.
I like Hori for decades..But their arcade sticks are "ok" Sanwa is way better.
With your style of playing you're better off with an American style stick.
