😊😊 all tractors 🚜 😊 belts and hoses will have 2 be replaced sooner or later when they get old they dry rotten from the sun 🌞 and rain and setting out in the outdoor weather is even worse that also eats the paint 🎨 😮 on them 😮😮 OMG 1 3 2O25
good vline up of old iron would love to find nu 60 2/16 ihc plow to go on my ihc h it was cmade same month/year as me he is just a few days older not much wherev was this at
CHARLIE - I AGREE, AN IH #60 2-16" bottom plow would be sweet behind an H, BUT, THEY ARE SCARCE and they bring crazy high prices. I have a '54 Super H that 2-16's would be plenty in our ground and hills. I've plowed enough with IH #8 plows that I'd probably get one of those. Dad had two 3-14's for many years when he plowed with two M's. Even when he plowed with 4 bottom plows, like the 4F-43 IH Fast Hitch 4-14 with the 450 gas, we could cover lots of ground. He had a neighbor who convinced him to try a Case 3, 4, and eventually 5-14 trailing plows, our 4010 diesel with the Midwest plow harrow really couldn't pull 5-14's, we pulled the back bottom off and used it as 4-14's, that plow sold on Dad's retirement auction as the 4-bottom with the 5th bottom as a pile of parts. Dad had two IH #8 3-14's and also had a Case 3-14 if I remember correctly. A Case 2-14 trailing plow would be a nice plow for your H. Dad bought a John Deere R diesel the spring of 1964, the dealer convinced Dad he really needed the Deere 4-14 trailing plow. The R really couldn't pull it, I pulled one of the IH #8 3-14's and I still had to stop and downshift on some hills. We had a FARMALL SUPER M-TA too many years, I was too used to pulling the TA lever back and never having to stop and downshift. Actually with our M and Super M's we never had to downshift on hills anyway. The Case 5-14 plow behind our 4010-D was a disaster also, till we dropped a bottom, made it 4-14's I plowed in 2nd gear. Supposedly the " Best John Deere diesel mechanic had tuned up both the R and the 4010. I' VE NEVER SEEN OR EVER HEARD a horsepower number either tractor made, but when Dad took both FARMALL M's to the IH dealer He got dynamic sheets on both tractors. There was an independent repair shop Dad eventually took the 4010 to when the 4010 was really struggling, actually their injection pump GURU came to our farm about 8 PM, after chores, he rebuilt the injection pump and BOY did it run then, blew fire out of the muffler, for a while till it blew the head gasket. It got a major rebuild that winter, M&W 4020 sleeves & pistons and YES, IT took it's turn on their dynamic. I never heard what it pulled. The tractor was sold and the new owner had an M&W turbocharger installed. AND GUESS WHAT? Couple months later the new owner comes around one Sunday looking for Dad wanting to know how much of the rearend & final drive We're going to pay for. It was in the shop for rebuilding the PTO when the guy bought it, the 540 rear pto stub shaft had loosened the 4 capscrews and shifted from 540 to 1000 rpm pulling our 6 ft Brillion bush hog we normally ran behind our FARMALL SUPER H. There were LOTS and LOTS of 4020's around, I ran a lot of them doing fieldwork for neighbors, I don't remember ANYONE having rearend or pto problems with their 4020's, I'm pretty sure there wasn't another 4010 around, Dad's brother had a 3010 diesel but it was mostly a chore tractor, Uncle & cousin both had 4020's too. I still have Dad's 1951 FARMALL M he bought new, it's been overhauled twice, it went under the 2M-E picker for over 20 years. Was 2nd string fieldwork plowing, disking, & planting and choring tractor, had a loader on it every year as soon as the picker was off. I've got the new old stock IH Add Power sleeves, pistons, & rings for the Super H. It's NEVER had the head or oil pan off in the 71 years it's been around but will get overhauled sometime soon.
My dad had an Oliver plow for a while. He always said it was the best plow he ever owned.
They said it pulled the easiest.
I had a 1800 that was a great tractor

True enough. But metal lasts longer than plastic.
