    Been thinking about getting the Terrova, but wasn't sure about getting the foot control....or if I really needed it. Now my answer is Yes. This is, without a doubt, one of the best reviews out there! Down to earth, no BS.... kinda like Dragnet....Just The Facts!

    I just bought a terrova for my bass boat should have it by Monday can't wait. I've heard a lot of good reviews and seen a lot of good videos. Can't wait to put it to use. Thanks for the tips on the dust contact situation you had chips are always welcome. Happy fishing God bless my friend.

    Thanks for a great review. I'm waiting for the snow to go before I install my Terrova. I'm mostly a bass fisherman like you but I will also be trolling for trout in the spring so I plan to use the remote and track feature from the back of the boat. I'm glad to hear that Minn Kota stood behind their product.

    Dust affected my foot pedal the same way. I took it apart, cleaned it and stored it in the bow compartment. Have not had an issue in four years.
    Great review from the real world perspective.
    Thanks

    Good review. I bought a boat with a terrova on it last summer and sold it to get a boat that better suited me this spring. Like this boat a lot better but I need to upgrade the power drive to a terrova ASAP! Like you said, once you have it, you can't live without it🙂

    Thanks, Great review. I am also a bass fisherman in a small local club likely putting a Terrova on my Triton. I am hoping to use some of the other features and hopefully in the future, changing from Lowrance to Hummingbird so I can link the two and take advantage of the auto navigation.

    Great to know about the dust issue you had. Will make it a point when I finally receive my Terrova to store the foot control properly before transporting the boat anywhere. It would be nice if MinnKota would make the controls more robust so they wouldn't be affected by dust but, short of that, at least you've identified a work-around.

    The jog feature is the true unsung hero… made possible by spotlock. When you jog side to side in 5 foot increments is when you really start picking apart structure. With the jog feature on my ultrex we went from 35 fish days to 125 fish days

    Thanks for posting. Just got a call from Scheels and mine came in this am. I went with the Ipilot with foot pedal. Almost went with the link setup but a couple guys I know said they never use the links features. Basically they use spot lock and the jog feature. Can’t wait to get my boat out of storage this weekend and get this installed. Also upgraded to a Garmin UHD 9sv sonar. We will see how many extra fish my 3,000.00 gets me.😃😃😃😃

      I liked the image quality better on the helix units but the Navionics maps are all loaded on the Garmin and the operating system is a lot more intuitive. Hope I like it.

    I have my Terrova mounted on a 17.5’ Ranger without much room on the front deck. I’m 75 years old and have issues reaching the release lift assist lever to deploy and stow. Any suggestions. Thanks

    You didnt mention 12 or 24 volts. Im setting up to slow troll for crappie, how many hours can I expect out of a 12 volt. (My boat is lighter than a Tracker)

    • @OutdoorswithDonandBob
      @OutdoorswithDonandBob  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mine is a 12 volt system. The trolling motor I took off was 24 volt, so I kept both batteries and run them parallel so it's 12 volt. That means I have twice the battery life. As far as how long, two lasts me all day, and I always charge when I'm done each day.

    M K replace my remote for free even though it was 11/2 years old. I use the constant and the right and left button with my toe of my shoe instead of the foot pad, I fish from a seat because i am 77 years old. Like you i don't use the remote much. I had some trails but that was years ago. the spot lock is the best thing and I use it a lot also.

    • @OutdoorswithDonandBob

    Thanks for the video!! I am supposed to get my Terrova tomorrow and it was very informative on what to expect. I am like you on reviews. I see people who said they bought something yesterday or two days ago and they are THRILLED with it. That's okay, but I want to know how it is three or fours years later. One thing I'd like to know is the mounting of it on your boat. The one thing I'm concerned about is mounting it and the overhang of the bracket. How do you keep it from hitting the roller on the trailer when you launch it? I know that I could mount mine over on the side, but I like to get center line if possible. Thanks.

  • @russforeman9860
    @russforeman9860 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kind of hard to do a review when you dont even utilize the key features, why would you even buy this unit? Not what comes to mind for a sole bass fishing user.

    • @OutdoorswithDonandBob
      @OutdoorswithDonandBob  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me spot lock alone with worth it, and I use that almost every time I'm out. As for not using tracks, I have nothing but small lakes around me, most under 50 acres, so not much use making a track that's maybe 200 yards long.

    • @russforeman9860
      @russforeman9860 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OutdoorswithDonandBob I guess I can understand that, they really need to just add the spotlock feature to the foot pedal model and save guys like yourself a lot of money. Isnt there a footpedal only model with bluetooth?

    • @OutdoorswithDonandBob
      @OutdoorswithDonandBob  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@russforeman9860 today you can do a power drive with spot lock and a foot control that is cheaper then the Terrova. When I bought mine the power drive with spot lock was not available with a foot control, only the remote. So that was why I got a Terrova.
