Nice video and a typical crazy busy Pena palace day before covid. The car problem is fixed now, no more cars allowed to drive up the hill besides taxi and busses. The fog coming and going is typical Sintra, it has a micro climate so the clouds and fog can come anytime, winter and summer. Sintra is a 3day experience, my favorites are Quinta da Regaleira, Palacio Monserrate and the convent of the Capuchos. I was guiding in Sintra for the last 3 years.
My family and I were fortunate enough to live in the historic centre of Sintra 35 years ago before coming to Australia . The apartment we lived in was near the National palace of Sintra and we walked so many times up to the Pena Palace and picking chest nuts in the park, those were beautiful memories, Hopefully I can visit Sintra again and thanks for sharing this video.

Beautiful video as always - just one point of architectural clarification. Castles are sometimes only defensive structures and don’t always include palatial living quarters. I was in Sintra in June 2018 and it was crowded - but maybe not quite as much as your visit. We also went to Pena first and then walked to the Moorish castle. Just as you advise, it’s best to arrive to Pena as early as possible, then work your way down the mountain.

@10:47: Hello Renata (or any other lusophone person reading this) ... just curious, does Portuguese still use the term "atenção" for "attention"? Because in French, we had already switched to the term "prudence" several decades ago (maybe since the early 2000's). So, in the French-speaking world, you know it's a very old sign, bus or train if you see it warning label with "attention" instead of "prudence". I have no clue why the change in vocabulary happened, but it simply did.
