Kent Rollins was a buddy of Justin and carries out a lot of his traditions, but on a chuckwagon and outdoor cooking. Give him a look-see and let him know I sent you. Him, his wife, and his pups are great people and critters. Justin was the first for me with his devilled eggs and I still make them exactly the way he did even though I can't find the video anywhere.

I used to enjoy watching him when he was on PBS. I love that Justin is using a huge bowl to combine his ingredients. I don’t get why so many chefs/cooks try to mix things up in a bowl that the ingredients barely fit into. I guess it’s a pet peeve of mine. I don’t have a bowl as large as Justin’s, but I keep my old enameled roaster around just to toss ingredients together. I never roast in it anymore, but it’s my go to for things like this macaroni salad. I put the finished salad into smaller containers or serving bowls once it’s done.
Agree 100%! When I find a very, very large bowl, I grab it up, only because I too do not wish to have all of my ingredients barely move because the bowl it too small.

Justin was a great cook. My dad had him in for a fundraiser and he did the show but also cooked for us and some friends. This was years and years ago. He was very nice and his cooking was absolutely delicious "I gar-on-tee!".
My son was three years old when we discovered Justin Wilson and he could never get enough of this man and his jokes and conversation as he cooked. We were stationed in Germany at the time and only one station to watch. This year I sent him a Justin Wilson cookbook for his 38th birthday 🎈🎂 memories ❤
My husband, who has passed on, and I, used to watch Justin faithfully. We were thrilled to go to a cookbook signing at our local Sam’s Club some years ago. Such a wonderful gentleman. If Justin is boiling a pot of crawfish up there in heaven, my husband will be first in line, I guar-oooon-tee ya!!
I have watched so very many of Justin's videos, I really do wish who ever has them and has the right to reshow them would do this on a regular basis, so many many people have learned so much from him and so many more people could. Rest in peace Justin, we miss you and love you.

Wow, does this make me so nostalgic. I'm 49 and remember watching Mr. Wilson with my parents every weekend. Oh, and all that gorgeous Magnalite cookware! My mom bought me a full set of it back when I moved into my first apartment. Almost 30 years later, I'm still using it daily.
My grandma liked him she even bought his cookbook. She first got enjoyed introduced to him from his comedy records her and grandpa enjoyed listening to him his wit was very entertaining

My Mamaw and I made Mr. Wilson’s potato free potato salad when I was growing up. We went rogue, though, and used potatoes instead of crackers. Loved watching this man cook. 😊♥️
Justin reminds me so much of my father. My father was from Louisiana . He was a Cajun Italian. Whenever he was in a silly mood he would say things like " don't dat putty" instead of " isn't that pretty" I used to think he was the only one who talked that way. Like he was making it up or something. Then I saw Justin on his t. v. cooking show. I couldn't believe how he sounded just like my dad. I miss my dad so much. He passed in 1998 Forever the best father in the world. 😢😊

Anyway, he met up with Martin Yan, looked the same but aged a little bit. Still has the same sweet smile and said the same old corny jokes.

Justin Wilson had the most entertaining cooking show of all time. The way he would put together his recipes. And throw in stories along the way was absolutely fantastic.
My dad too! It seems appropriate that TH-cam popped this video in my feed on Memorial Day. I haven’t thought about Justin Wilson in years, but I always think of my dad saying “I guarantee“ in the same way as this delightful Cajun chef.

Want to elevate your pasta salad and potato salad to supertonic taste? For pasta , combine 1 T oil, 1 T sugar and 1T mild vinegar (unseasoned rice wine vinegar) and pour it over the hot pasta, stir. Do the same for hot potatoes (probably use a bit more but be careful, a little goes a long way. Then when pasta is cool, add the rest of your ingredients. You'll not believe the deeply delicious flavor that comes. Make sure it's hot when you add it.
Think I saw him once decades ago, but I learned to cook artichokes because of him. As for the salad, I don't know why people don't just put a bunch of the noodle mix in the bowl with the dressing. It helps clean the dressing off the sides of the bowl when you dump it back into the main bowl.
My grandma and I would watch him on PBS. I really miss our bonding together over this show. I love her and I hope they are both chatting it up in the afterlife and making some good food for all of heaven to marvel at!

I loved watching him when I was growing up. I had 1 of his cookbooks my uncle gave me. When I was in my 20s in the 80s, my sister moved to Covington, LA. We were grocery shopping one Friday afternoon and he was in the grocery store. It was so fun to see him. He was so gracious and kind. Not many people recognized him but I sure did! ❤❤❤
Watching Mr. J Wilson cook and hearing him speak makes me think of my father in law, Moose Thibodeaux. He was always showing me how to make my husband's favorite foods and telling me all the funny Boudreaux, Thibodeaux and Fontenot stories. The good ole Cajun accent and humor is being lost everyday. Thankfully we still have Justin Wilson cooking and archived for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing him with us. ❤
A gentleman and fine chef de cuisine of what was comfort food in a very Southern tradition. All you need is a shot of bourbon after dinner with your evening sitting on the back porch to count shooting stars...I miss our country when it was civil, friendly and kind! 1 lb cooked elbow macaroni
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups chopped dill pickle
1 cup green onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup finely chopped parsley leaves & stems
1 cup pimento stuffed olives, sliced
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup freshly grated cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped hardboiled eggs
●Salad Dressing●
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup Creole mustard
2 tbsp good olive oil
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

I 1000% agree. I used to cater and my biggest rule in the kitchen was use a big bowl to give yourself room to really combine without spilling

Justin Wilson had the most entertaining cooking show of all time. The way he would put together his recipes. And throw in stories along the way was absolutely fantastic.

My dad too! It seems appropriate that TH-cam popped this video in my feed on Memorial Day. I haven’t thought about Justin Wilson in years, but I always think of my dad saying “I guarantee“ in the same way as this delightful Cajun chef.

Want to elevate your pasta salad and potato salad to supertonic taste? For pasta , combine 1 T oil, 1 T sugar and 1T mild vinegar (unseasoned rice wine vinegar) and pour it over the hot pasta, stir. Do the same for hot potatoes (probably use a bit more but be careful, a little goes a long way. Then when pasta is cool, add the rest of your ingredients. You'll not believe the deeply delicious flavor that comes. Make sure it's hot when you add it.

Think I saw him once decades ago, but I learned to cook artichokes because of him.
As for the salad, I don't know why people don't just put a bunch of the noodle mix in the bowl with the dressing. It helps clean the dressing off the sides of the bowl when you dump it back into the main bowl.

My Mom and I watched him on PBS and thoroughly enjoyed his shows and sense of humour.
I loved watching him when I was growing up. I had 1 of his cookbooks my uncle gave me. When I was in my 20s in the 80s, my sister moved to Covington, LA. We were grocery shopping one Friday afternoon and he was in the grocery store. It was so fun to see him. He was so gracious and kind. Not many people recognized him but I sure did! ❤❤❤

Watching Mr. J Wilson cook and hearing him speak makes me think of my father in law, Moose Thibodeaux. He was always showing me how to make my husband's favorite foods and telling me all the funny Boudreaux, Thibodeaux and Fontenot stories. The good ole Cajun accent and humor is being lost everyday. Thankfully we still have Justin Wilson cooking and archived for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing him with us. ❤
A gentleman and fine chef de cuisine of what was comfort food in a very Southern tradition. All you need is a shot of bourbon after dinner with your evening sitting on the back porch to count shooting stars...I miss our country when it was civil, friendly and kind! May his soul rest in the peace of Heaven, where we all hope to go.
