    I found that the 4k springs made for a much better towing setup with my dually. I started with 3k springs then I went to 4k. My power band is very wide now and comes in at lower RPM. I installed 60lb head springs but I've only been over 3000 like once maybe twice

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. Maybe I'll have to give it a go. Will you say that it smokes more with the 4k Springs? I also noticed some cold start stalling with adding the 3K Springs. Do you notice any of that? Or are you not in a cold climate

      @@NoNonsenseKnowHow up your idle rpm maybe? I also installed 4K and found it better than 3k. No extra smoke. I ground my fuel plate and I could make a brand new clutch slip with ease. Nice light haze. Iirc I ground something close to 100 plate. But that was quite a few years ago.

    4k springs fuel harder down low. if you're running a bigger turbo helps with spool 4k are not just for a race truck you don't have to go to 4k. just a preference

      dodgekindaguy thanks for your comment, I did not know that. I am still going to stick with the 3K Springs however. I really like the way it drives now with the #11 plate I installed as well. tons of more acceleration am I still get 18 to a maximum of 24 MPG depending on what kind of driving.

    Just installed my 3k springs from street sport industries using this video. Made it easy to do and I performed with confidence due to this video. Only question I ever had was do I reinstall the stock shims or leave them out?? I left mine out and tightened to same measurements. Hope this was right. Took about hour and half and I didn't remove air horn but did remove the keyed bracket. Word to the wary my key did fall out and I didn't know... So I installed it a little off and the fuel shutoff solenoid couldn't work. I had a runaway situation. Couldn't articulate the lever because was bound from incorrect location black garbage bagged the turbo filter finally got it off. Reinstalled correctly and no issues. Thanks for taking the time on the video. Incredibly straight forward and good video goes with the good instructions!

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Hoth thank you for your comment! And I'm glad that the video helped you out!. That's crazy about your runaway condition, I didn't realize that key could even fall out of there.! And as far as the shims go, I actually don't remember if I put mine back in or not. I think the instructions said to leave them out if I remember right but maybe I'll have to look more into that. It certainly takes a little bit of time to make a video and edit it, but it's all worth it when people like you leave comments thanking me. Thanks again for thd support!

      NoNonsenseKnowHow it's what my truck really needed. Truly kicked up the acceleration.
      Ya I think the magnet I was using picked it up when I was putting it in to get the seats and shims out. Little half Moon key I guess. Once again I appreciate it! Now onto getting my torque converter lock to work again ha ha.

      But then you end up with stalling issues when it's really cold out carried I actually turned my Springs in one more additional click to get rid of cold stalling. Every time I would let off the accelerator before the engine was warmed up it would stall out

    Did you have to adjust idle speed ? After install and did. Your truck keep the way it’s supposed to start without touching pedal? Trying to keep mine like it was before gsk

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's cold I have to slightly press the pedal to start. But then again I think the factory owners manual says that you should do that when it's cold right? I did have to adjust my idle. the springs definitely affected the cold idle. Not sure if you saw but I actually did another video about a cold idle problem I was having and had to turn down the governor spring nut a little bit

    My 12 valve had a stalling issue. I replaced the lift pump bc I didn't trust how the old one. Replaced the screen filter and and fuel filter. No leaks from what I can see. Truck does run again but still dies. I adjusted the idle screw a little bit and I got the truck to idle but the idle just bounces up and down. Its making me think it was a governor spring issue this whole time. My idle will go from 800 to 1500 and continue doing that. I fine tuned the idle screw and it doesn't matter. It's either no idle or it'll idle 800 to 1500 rpm. Any help would be appreciated. I did plan to change the governor springs prior to my current problem.
