    You were speeding past a cop and then wonder why he's pulling you over - plus your high speed dash cam records you breaking the law - You must be from Fairbanks.

    He was respectful about it, he left you off with a warning and you tried arguing back. He said “please” and even said “drive safe” you don’t know asshole cops until you been to Georgia 💀

      I don't disagree with you at all that he wasn't an "asshole cop!" That's why I included "...but he managed to save the stumble!" in the very beginning of the description. He never should have pulled me over in the first place, nor accused me of not using my blinker (which only was done due to the flimsiness of "speeding.") However, aside from that, the interaction was absolutely pleasant. And, since I knew that I was recording the whole interaction, I was definitely going to make my assertion that I did, in fact (not opinion), use the indicator, since I had no idea at that point whether he would try to write me up for that. I was not disrespectful in that assertion in the least, nor did I say a word against the "speeding" accusation, since I was technically speeding, even if it was wholly insignificant.
      Others have noted that it may have involved an element of training since there were two troopers in the vehicle, which is fine by me in retrospect. At the time, my observation was that he burned up five minutes of time for four individuals for no reason aside from ego.

      Bruh the ambulance was in slow lane going slower than normal traffick it is normal to move to fast lane to pass and he did a safe lane change with turning light activated you know as well as I do there are way more unsafe drivers out there that state trooper did not have to stop him

      @@jasonwtheis5921 So you're telling me those red flashing lights are not emergency lights. Also, I feel like the ambulance did have its lights on (not sure emergency), but still, that officer had no clue what he was talking about. :/

    what's the speed limit on this highway? 55?!?! also, what dashcam are you using, looks good! Maybe this trooper was in training and was asked by his TO to stop and go through the process?

    • @jasonwtheis5921
      @jasonwtheis5921  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, 55. This dashcam is a Blackvue DR750S (2-channel). It's possible there was a training situation; this is the first time I've seen them riding as a pair, and the spotlight was shining straight up my driver side, so I didn't see them coming up from both sides - I thought the guy on the passenger side was the one with whom I would be talking. It worked out fine despite the petty excuse for the stop.

    Wow. That was really a shocking "power trip". The driver passes an ambulance running with red lights, passes a Trooper who is going the speed limit, the Trooper stops him, is calm, polite, and only gives him a verbal warning. Shocking.
    Poor, picked on, whiney citizen.

      That's my standard! This car, a Subaru Forester, doesn't automatically triple-flash like most cars of the last decade or two, and it's a bit finicky about flashing if you don't fully engage it, so the "click" is a full engage of the signal, but I typically have it held between my fingers, so the release is gentle enough that you cannot hear it in the video.
      If there's one thing this car is not, it's quiet at highway speeds! Between the road noise and the audio book, there is no chance of hearing just the flasher.

    Dude, they're really uptight about the speed limit in Alaska, huh? I'm in California, and even the CHP aren't this uptight about the speed limit.

    • @jasonwtheis5921
      @jasonwtheis5921  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      🤣 No, not normally, which is why it came as such a surprise. My SOP is 5 mph or 10%, whichever is less, and I've never had a problem (other than this stop). As someone else noted, it was possibly a training situation evidenced by there being two people in the cruiser.
      Just this morning, I headed into town on this exact same stretch of road, at this exact same speed, and, after moving back to the right lane after passing another car, the car that was approaching behind me in the left lane then passed... and was an AST cruiser!

      @@jasonwtheis5921 Regerdless if the lights were on or off, no one in there right mind would think it’s okay to pass both a cop and an ambulance and think they won’t be pulled over. Your just angry because your video makes you look like an ass

    • @jasonwtheis5921
      @jasonwtheis5921  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not at all. No anger here. I cannot even recall how many LEOs I've passed over the years within the normal flow of traffic. It was nonsense for this one to pull me over, aside from the very likely explanation others have suggested: Training.
      I wouldn't have posted it at all were it not for the lame excuse provided that I did not signal. I, of all people, am the last person you'd want to use that excuse on. I signal everything that ought to have a signal whether in the presence of others or not (as is evidenced by the lead up to the stop), and a lane change certainly counts.

      If the speed limit is 55mph your dash cam confirms your violation. Regardless as to whether you used your turn signal or not. He did advise you of both reasons upon contact with you. Your own dash cam recorded you going 94kph/59mph to pass both the Trooper and EMS. Therefore the probable cause standard was met as it pertained to your lawful seizure of person under the 4TH Amendment. What I can tell you, is that was a Trooper still on/in his probationary period, partnering with his FTO (Field Training Officer) who approached on your passenger side. That was their lawful means to initiate the traffic stop and use you as training material. Yes, it was petty, but Constitutionally sound on the Troopers end. Looking at his FTO body language and demeanor I'd bet the discussion in the car between the both of them surrounded his brash and somewhat hostile behavior towards you for simply notifying him of your dash camera. He knew that he did not have enough proof to attain a conviction in the court against you. That much was most likely determined (verbal warning) by the both of them even before the lights were activated on the cruiser.
