I think I understand better this way!
They are two different types of artist. Drake is an entertainer and Kendrick is a real Lyricist and Story teller.. what Hip Hip really needs
What hip hop really is!
Hip hop can have both. Let's not forget hip hop was all about partying at first. Though I do agree that we need more sincere voices like Kendrick these days.
Well said, and true fans of hip hop recognize that fact.
@@sonarfieldsit was not about partying at first. It was about civil rights, the partying came later
@@idkwhybut... True, but it's still important that we accept both
Your comment about thinking Kendrick never really respected Drake, I think he did, when he was starting out. But I imagine after touring with Drake, and being around him more and more, I think he started to see Drake in a different light. In the end, the fans don't know these people as well as they know each other. I'm thinking Kendrick *does* have good reasons behind his constant referencing of Drake.
Agreed
I thought so too, he must’ve heard and seen some things he did not agree with
Yeah Wayne told Drake to be himself and not try to be tough but he didn't listen
Imagine Drake’s ghostwriter was beefing with Kendrick while Drake was trying to make amends on social media. lol

Both artists are making allegations of one another that are difficult to prove, who wins is up to who is telling the truth, if one is telling the truth, the other is going to jail, this is very heavy stuff…

This isn't simply a case of "theres just some people you don't like no matter what". Kendrick is a genuine dude, and in the beginning was humble and respected Drake. Something happened, Kendrick saw something that he just couldn't let slide, who knows except Kendrick. But for that amount of animosity, it isn't something that can be forgotten just because that someone congratulated you on something. Streets and hoods have lines that you can never cross, and Drake has obviously crossed one of Kendricks lines.
First R.Kelly, next Diddy, now the eyes of suspicion are focusing on Drake. The next 18 months you're going to see a lot of darkness exposed.
It’s crazy how people totally accept drakes allegation and COMPLETELY look over Kendrick’s being a woman beater. If you accept one you must accept both. Not even a huge Drake fan but it’s innocent until proven guilty for both parties
Lets come back in 18 months and survey the damage..Promise me

Its so funny how Drake said Kendricks name in Family Matters, then Kendrick released the horror track like a ghost and stabbed Drake in his soul to kill his carrer. Then celebrated back home in his neighborhood with Not Like Us. Its a fucking movie
No one’s career has been killed. Drakes charting in the top 10 today. Until these slanderous allegations are proven on both sides then it’s simply just a loss in a diss battle. One he’s already had with pusha T. This is simply a hot moment. Emotions will calm down and people will get bored and back to regular. All the Drake fans knew about that 17 video and don’t care cause PEDO=CHILD not a 17 yr old. That’s not pdf shit. Drake needs to chill for a bit and let the emotions calm down.

Kendrick could beat the internet cause he like that
Kendrick's bar on father's time was rather Kendrick's reflection on how he thought a beef should last forever, that's why he said he was confused when Drake and Kanye got back. Then he said "guess I'm not as mature as I think", indicating that Drake and Kanye squashed their beef was above his level of maturity. He then proceeded to say "got some healing to do", stating that his overly competitive nature may came from daddy issues that he's been having his whole life, which was the main theme of the song Father's Time.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🫀🫀🌎🌎
Beautiful record
yeah i also think when he said "got some healing to do" he was being reflective and thought to himself maybe its time to really move past it
But also if you look into the Kanye and Drake beef, they technically are still beefing so it adds to his thought on being confused because bygones will never be bygones.
@@deitymc268yup drake even mentioned this on one of his newer songs
The funniest thing is Drake ever thinking he was on a higher level than K dot. I'm a 26 yo woman and Drake has disgusted me for a long time (for the very things that Kdot has put the public on in very recent events) but I will admit that I did like him and his music when I first got into hip hop as a teen. I eventually grew out of it, even though some songs are very catchy, club-worthy type. Kendrick is in a completely different level! Like, that's just absurd to even question.

You were such a fan boy in this one. We need a new one
You keep saying Drake is trying to be friendly. I don't see it that way at all and that’s probably why Kendrick doesn’t like him. He throws shots then plays nice. That’s strategy. Kendrick is saying he sees the chess moves and isn’t falling for them. He’s keeping the same energy
Kendrick started it drake tried to print it down let's be honest Kendrick wants it this way. The guy could have literally just stopped talking to Drake and keep it moving
@@jameslight4391he don’t want no smoke with drake.
@@jameslight4391 Drake literally could have just stopped doing sassy ass shit and pretending like he's showing love... but then throwing subtle ass bars about dudes in his songs. It goes both ways. Drake wants to pretend like he's ready for that smoke... but also tries to put on a facade for the public like he just wants to show love to everybody. That's some hoe ass shit. Why is he literally the ONLY person in the entire industry that took that "Control" verse so personal? He wasn't the only one mentioned on that verse... but somehow he's the only one to bitch about it. That's partly why Kendrick doesn't fuck w/ him. Kendrick made it a friendly competitive. Everybody Kendrick mentioned took it as a friendly competition. But Drake just had to be the one guy to go around bitching and moaning about it. Then pretend like he's not trying to get into that type of stuff... but still finds a way to take subliminal shots at people. Like Kendrick said... say somebody's name DIRECTLY. Don't throw rocks at people then stare off into empty space like you didn't just say some shit about somebody. Anybody real doesn't respect that shit...... at all.

Drake drops consistently and with a lot of success, but when Kendrick drops it’s always better than whatever Drake has out according to hip hop heads, journalists, and award shows. Kendrick has something that Drake wants and either can’t tap into or won’t because he’d rather be a mega pop star.
You right . But drake can do things kdot can’t even try to do ……

Right being nice while simultaneously sneak dissing is not nice.
Exactly! this guy definitely has a Drake bias.
Yeah i kind of agree. I don’t think Kendrick is going out of his way for the last decade to address Drake for no reason. That’s not even fitting for Kendrick’s brand. Drake is an arrogant guy that thinks he’s the best. A fake thug life Pop artist and Kendrick entered the industry to claim his spot as a legendary rapper.
Right? It was so very clear that his “nice” moves were from the narcissist playbook. His attempts to keep reminding Kendrick that he “made him” but saying it as if he is being nice or sharing up at shows as if to make people think he’s supportive is giving classic gaslight, needy & annoying.
Yep the bias was more than evident, especially the way he had to end the video, he made his feelings known
The attention to detail in this historical analysis is spot on! I don’t care for rap but I do care to learn about the human mind and creative contributions and this was insightful and engaging!

There’s multiple things to analyze between the Drake v Kendrick beef, but what’s always bothered me is how Drake moves the goal post once he realizes he can’t win. At first he wanted to be lyrical then he realized he could be the best at that then changed the metric to bodies of work. Then Kendrick dropped 2 all-time generation defining albums and he realized he couldn’t be the best at that so he moved the goalpost to Grammys. Then Kendrick tied Michael Jackson for the most nominations (& won a Pulitzer) then he changed the narrative to money. It’s a shallowness that has largely driven the trajectory of his career since “Views,” and you can actually see the steady decline of his work since he decided to be a profit-based brand instead of a true artist.
Lol kinda did the same thing with Push.
That's biased ASF because Drake has 51 nominations , and he has the highest and most billboard top 100 songs. Y'all meat riders just love making shit up. Kendrick knew about the kind of person Drake is behind the scenes. Kendrick has openly spoken about how toxic the industry is, and we live in a day and age where we are seeing celebs (Diddy, R Kelly, Bill Cosby, Danny Masterson, Harvey Weinstein, Dan Schneider just to name a few) are being held accountable for their actions. Many of these people had rumors about their behavior swirling for YEARS and it’s now being confirmed as true. Drake’s reckoning is coming, and Kendrick is gonna end up on the right side of history.
This is exactly it
it just bugs me that he pretended to be his friend at first. if you believe me to be a bad person, why be around me and call me a "good dude"? its strange
Yet Kendrick went to Spotify and said he’d pull his music if they didn’t keep R. Kelly’s in rotation.
@@losteezyhe was learning the industry. And I think he took it as "part of the job" shi. He was ambitious enough to hang out with people he didn't like to achieve his dream when he was small, but the moment he got big he was conscious enough to cut those ties. It's not that out of stretch. People do it all the time in corporate settings. You put up with shitty boss during work, don't hang out with him outside of work as much as you can, the moment you got a promotion or better position in the same industry but different company, you completely cut ties from that person bcs you know what kind of person they are.

The early stages of this was all Drake. Drake taking offense when it wasn't intentional, Drake downplaying Kendrick's artistry, and drake running his mouth in interviews. You can say that Kendrick, at the end of the day, was going the subliminal route too, but his intention wasn't the same. We all know how a head to head battle would go. Drake might do numbers, but we all know Kendrick would body him. Kendrick's subliminals were more of a "hey, c'mon, you know you don't want to do this."
Really? How do you explain the fact that even though drake put him on during his comeup, Kendrick thought it was cool to laugh about DMX wanting to beat Drake up in public. Like that is enough to get anyone salty and it probably escalated from there. Just like how Freddie Gibbs laughed at benny when he got shot during a shootout and now they are enemies. It makes total sense but yall on Kendricks side because yall fake woke
Worst part is that if they did go head to head drake could win and we wouldn’t know if he wrote it
Agreed drake built like a pop star
We head to head now so what’s up😁
Drop and give me 50 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

"Why keep being friendly to someone who doesn't respect you"
