    • @drbyers
      @drbyers ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes: Me. I'm ordering one for the new sony fx30 i'm also getting for my company. I'll be doing solo video production and will pirmarily use a 18-50 zoom, but also wanted a manual focus cinema lens for the creative shots. I primarily use primes for my photography work so I know I'll like this lens already. I hate zooms.

       @avicretes This video was very informative about this lens. Thank you for taking the time out to create this. I think i will pick one up for my Sony a7Slll. Im shocked that you can use it as a regular FF lens with little to no vignetting. Honestly... what other APSC lens is known for covering a 90-95 % of a FF frame sensor?? I think this lens is very underrated by that fact alone. It is essentially a hybrid lens that really works on APSC and FF. The image quality is very cinematic IMO. I have a small marketing company and this lens can definitely work for my clients by giving them a mainstream "Hollywood Film Look" (or close to it) without breaking the bank. Im pretty sure 99% of small business owners are not going to be checking for chromatic aberration (which can be fixed in post), and focus breathing LOL... I would love to see this lens compared to some very expensive cinema lenses to see the differences in optical quality. Something tells me that the difference won't be night and day. Especially for the average viewer. I've been chasing that "cinematic" look with my photo lenses and I get close but never exact because of the lack of highlight rolloff and clinical sharpness that photo lenses tend to have. It seems like this budget friendly cine lens might be the cure. My question to you is, if you put this 35mm on a FF, doesn’t the field of view get even wider than 35mm since this lens technically covers a larger/wider FF sensor??

    I'm tempted to get this instead of the Laowa Argus 35mm f0.95 for use in full frame (Canon RF). The Laowa looks like a more 'proper' lens for photography but I like the artistic framing that this one produces away from the centre. The Laowa used to be twice the price but they're £500 vs £600 now. Thoughts?

    • @avicreates
      @avicreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Pavlos, it’s a very nice artistic look indeed, I think if you favour those imperfections for a vintage look and edit your colour right you will be very happy. It is big and beefy as well. Maybe try it on Amazon and if your don’t like it , just do a return. 🙂

    • @avicreates

      Glad it was helpful! I just convert the log footage to rec709 using Sonys conversion lut and then I tweak the skin tones and greens to a look that I like.

    • @avicreates

    Hey (please respond) I have the Sony A73 and I really want to ge this lense for the 1.05 so i can shoot at lowlight. Ofc i will need to have APSC on. What are ur thoughts? I really want to get this lense i was sad when I heard that its APSC. Will my older camera be win with APSC mode on? Oh and a silly question but If I get a 50 APSC lense when i turn on APSC on my lense it will be 50 mm correct? it wont be punched in like when i use a fullframe lense when i toggle APSC. So if I want a 50 I get a 50 correct?

    • @avicreates
      @avicreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi , this will work on full frame . I recommend you use it like a regular lens then punch in like a little to get rid of the edges.
      To answer your question about apsc lens. A 50mm apsc lens will work on FF. However if you don’t use apsc mode you might se vignetting from the image circle.
      50mm on Apsc is like a 75mm on FF in terms of field of view.
      It will still be a 50 mm apsc lens, but compared to FF it isn’t. Key word being “ compared “.

    • @unexpected1235
      @unexpected1235 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      okay, but it is fine to get it with the sony A73 correct (like quality wise)? (i dont want to sound repetitive but just to verify) So if i have a FF lense 50 and I get a APSC lense 50 and toggle on APSC the dimensions will be the same? I have a small question about the quality I read online that after like 2 months the lense started to get a bit worse is that true in ur case? so sorry for bombarding u with questions but thank you so much!@@avicreates

    • @avicreates
      @avicreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      A 50mm on full frame won’t cover the same area as a 50mm on apsc when standing the same distance away from the subject. It will work but it won’t be the same frame at the same distance.

    For an FX3 (full frame) user, should I just get the T2 version of this that's supposedly for full frame? Or is that not going to look near as cool as this T1.05? Basically, is it worth having to crop in and lose resolution for that faster lens and shallower DOF?
