    To remove the first plastic cover with the rubber you remove 2 plastic rivets... then what ? It just goes off ? Is there something else holding it down besides the 2 plastic rivets and the rubber ?

    • @tbfsimple4424
      @tbfsimple4424  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After you remove 2 plastic rivets, just pull toward the cover, the plastic cover just sit on the back side

    I’m about to do this and I’ve been told in other forum that you need to reset the computer, I found that you do it in the main board pressing the black left bottom button while you turn the switch on; did you had to do it? I’ve been told that otherwise the battery won’t charge since it is not read as new.
    Also, why do you have to register tue battery? Is for the battery-company? Or BMW?

    Advance auto talking about something needing to be reset after all this. Is it just a lie so they won’t have to do all this work?

    Do the batteries on the x1 require registration?

    • @dontfeedthewriters
      @dontfeedthewriters 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Christopher Keeney Yes, the new battery should be registered, especially if it’s not an OEM.

    Infotainment center frozen. No prob, I’ll just reset it by disconnecting the battery. Opens hood, scratches head, look up TH-cam video. Wtf!!

    Why BMW has chosen this location for the battery? Ok, I can understand that 50% / 50% weight distribution is no longer important for them but I cannot accept all this work to replace this component. Non sense.

    It's disconcerting that it takes this much work to replace a battery on this X1. What happened to BMW's battery being in the back? My station wagon, X3 and 1st gen X1, all have batteries in the back. Ugh!
