    Nice review. Is the difference in 4K and 1080P laser very obvious in person?

    • @carlsplace
      @carlsplace  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When you have a 4K projector setup and 1080p setup right next to each other and can compare them in real time, the difference is pretty obvious. However, if you walked from a 4K setup in one room to a 1080p setup in another, you wouldn't notice as much of a difference without the direct comparison, if that makes sense. All that said, 4K is awesome, but 1080p is also pretty darn good!

    I love your video thankyou! I am using a Garmin R10 with E6 connect and an iPad pro. I want to know if it is suitable with a projector BenQ LH820ST?

      Thanks for the kind words! Not sure what qualifies as "suitable" for you, but we use our LH820ST on a 7.7x10 enclosure with an iPad connected to an Apple TV and it works great! Our iPad aspect ratio of 4:3 matches perfectly with our screen!

    I'm super confused about the no zoom option you mentioned early in the video. Does this have no digital zoom out either? Like can I not mount this closer than the max distance and use corner control to bring the four corners in? I'm also super curious about your opinions regarding the difference between 3000 and 3600 lumens. I have your 12' x 9' DIY kit with surround. But the ambient light in my garage is really washing out my 5 year old Epson 3000 lumens projector.

      @carlsplace  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Per BenQ, the zoom ratio is "fixed" on their specs chart for the LH820ST, but Projector Central says it does have digital zoom capabilities. You should be able to mount this slightly closer so the image spills over the edge of the screen and then fix with the corner fit, but only to a certain extent. Corner fitting is great for minor adjustments, but maybe not as much as you'd like.
      Opinions on lumens: most of the time, as you are aware, the higher the lumens, the better brightness. However, some brands measure lumens differently, and some projectors with lower lumens can kind of make up for the lack of lumens with better saturated colors. Some of the projectors we've tested with less than 3000 lumens look better/brighter than ones with more lumens.
      Not sure where your ambient light is coming from, or if you have the original DIY enclosure or newer C Series, but with the newer ones, we offer a back cover kit that helps block out ambient light coming from behind the enclosure. If you have the original enclosure, you can retrofit it to the new C Series and add a back cover. Reach out to customer service if you have more questions on that! www.carlofet.com/contact

      When you go to Projector Central and locate the specs for the projector you're looking up, you can also download the pdf manual for that particular model and read the instructions for anything you're concerned about. For example: a source can say "vertical adjustments" on summary specs but the manual will say you can adjust vertically and horizontally 30%±. I have to say I enjoyed the study on projectors to buy mostly because of Projector Centrals well laid out site. I had to create a spreadsheet to make any sense of it all.@@carlsplace

    In your opinion, what is the second best option for movies/golf sim after the benq ls936st?

      Of what we sell and have knowledge of, the LG BU53RG is a great option. Many similar specs to the LK936ST and at a lesser price! Check it out here: shop.carlofet.com/golf-simulator-projectors/golf-simulator-projectors/lg-probeam-bu53rg-golf-simulator-projector

    How does the Optoma GT2000HDR compare to this? The Optoma seems like one of the least expensive lasers with horizontal keystone and is like $700 cheaper than the LH820ST.

      Hey James, great question. Per their manual (page 12), I believe it has this setting or something similar! Check out the manual in the resources section of the LH820ST product page: shop.carlofet.com/golf-simulator-projectors/golf-simulator-projectors/benq-lh820st-golf-simulator-projector

    Would you rather have that or the TK700STI? When it comes to golf sim…

    • @carlsplace
      @carlsplace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Really depends if you have space limitations. We would always recommend to have your projector mounted above (and slightly behind) the hitting area, which the TK700STi would be better for. But if you're tight on space, the LH820ST is a great option that you can mount in front of you - just make sure you protect it in some way!

      @@carlsplace I also am trying to decide between the LH820ST and TK700STI as they have similar pricing. Assuming no space limitations, which do you believe has the better picture quality etc? Any chance of a short side by side video comparison?
