    Looks good to me😊 So I have ordered this projector. I will use it in my carport with a 8’ x 14’ screen. I live in Baja MX so I will have to arrange for it to get down here to play. Looking forward to it. - I like the golf mode. The simulator I have purchased is the Golfzon Wave. Enjoy your games. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice looking piece of kit. My look at color; first it depends to a large degree on the monitor being used, on my 2K/60FPS, 47" monitor both were quite washed out but on my 27" 4k/120FPS monitor both presentation and golf modes were greatly improved. The golf mode made it much easier to see the details and I liked the more brilliant colors of the golf mode.
    One warning: Having my simulator outside in a protected area and Living in Az., where the summertime temperature lives above the Benq specified max temp of 40° C / 104° F you might have the same problems I have with an earlier Benq model, that being a thermal shutdown after a few minutes in the high temperature environment.
    I think that if you did a picture in picture for your video, where you showed the projector screen take up the full FSPro screen and your camera pix of your golf shot was a smaller picture set off to one side, or maybe down in the left hand corner, would show off the subject of your video much better. Not a complaint but you did ask.
    With my setup there are way to many hard things around and I would be afraid of a ricochet with the ball hitting that expensive projector.

      @GarageGolf  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great point and great comment Michael. I'll need to invest in another camera for a dual shot setup for that but that would definitely enhance the look you are stating as well. Thanks for watching!

    Great presentation Roland. A lot of information to digest but I'm really glad I came across this video. I have seen other channels offering projector advice, but none as informative as yours. One channel was saying that a projector with a 16:9 aspect ratio is preferential but, I see that you are using a 4:3 ratio and the display looks fantastic. What would a 16:9 ratio give, that a 4:3 can't?
    I thought that there wasn't a great deal of difference in the Presentation Mode v Golf Mode and I think I'd have a hard time deciding what I preferred - both looked great to me.
    One other question, did you say that your screen dimensions were 10'x8'?
    Thanks buddy.

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The great thing is that these projectors can display to both 4:3 and 16:9 ratios. Obviously 16:9 or 16:10 gives you more of a widescreen look but that's really it. Honestly I don't have a preference one way or the other. I like them both and have watched TV and Sports on both without issue. The enclosure I'm using in the video is the SIG10 Enclosure from The Indoor Golf Shop. You can find info on it here: shopindoorgolf.com/products/sig10-golf-simulator-enclosure?aff=160

      Here is another one to consider that I like. A little longer throw ratio (for a 10 foot screen you would most likely mount it about 14-16 feet away) but a ton of features that make manipulating the image so very easy.
      Panasonic VMZ51U Golf Simulator Projector: shopindoorgolf.com/products/panasonic-vmz51u-golf-simulator-projector?aff=160
      1.09 to 1.77: 1 Throw Ratio
      Fantastic 1080p laser projector that makes correcting the image to fit a golf simulator screen super easy. 5200 lumens keeps the image nice and bright even when ambient light is present. 3,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio. 4 Corner Correction, Vertical and Horizontal lens shift all make adjusting the image very easy. Incredible image.

      I’m just waiting for this projector to launch in Australia. Could I please ask how far from the impact screen the projector was placed? I’m hoping to situate mine approx 12ft from my impact screen but worried this will be too far for a short throw projector. Many thanks 😊

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      On mine it was about 9 feet or so. You could probably do 10 feet without an issue. Check out the throw ratio calculator for that projector on projectorcentral.com and it should give you an exact idea on the range for it for your screen size as well. • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That should be fine with this projector. You want to keep it at a 4:3 ratio (Think 4 feet of width for every three feet of height on average). Let me know if you have any questions. thanks. Yeah 4/4 was a typo i meant 4/3. I have a "tech" friend that told me i would be better off with a 16/9 and compressing the image to fit my 7.75 by 9 foot screen. Is that BS? That seems like BS from everything i've read on the internet. @@GarageGolf

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With this projector you could try it both ways and see what image looks better. As long as you mount the projector where it covers your entire screen you would then use the corner correct feature to shrink it down. Sounds like natively to me though you are closest to a true 4:3 ratio with your screen size. @@ryanstratton5895

    how far from your screen do you have it set up ? i am stuggling getting a full screen covered its 8 x 8 .....

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my video about the 10 foot mark or so. Something to note, this projector and many others will never fully fill a true 1:1 ratio screen, such as 8 feet x 8 feet. You will always have a letterbox on the top or bottom because a projector displays an image in either 4:3 or 16:9/16:10 ratio. Think 4 feet of width needed for every 3 feet of height as an example in the 4:3 ratio. This has and always will be an issue.

    $1899 seems pretty high for a 1080p projector.

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I understand that perception for sure but it is still pretty on par with what you will see for a 1080p projector that is also a laser projector, not a lamp based projector and that has features such as 4 corner correction, digital lens shift, digital shrink and more.

      Roland- great video, however some of us can not afford a 2k projector. Do you have a recommendation for a projector that will pull off GSpro no problem 1080p for a realistic balance for a garage golfer like myself

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I will be testing out the LH600ST shortly so keep an eye out for that one. It is right around $1099.00. The other I have recommended previously around the $1000.00 price tag would be teh Optoma GT1080HDR. You can get more info on that one here: amzn.to/3rNiQ4k Another would be the BENQ TH671ST: amzn.to/3ZPR18h

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For a true 1:1 ratio you will want to go with the BenQ LH600ST. It is actually the only one that I know of that currently has this feature. There may be others but I'm not aware if there are. I would say very close on par with this projector to the GT1080HDR in all honesty except this one has a digital lens shift and 4 corner correction which are both features that will help with filling the screen. @@gregsag

    I bought a LH820ST on 12/7/2023. It worked fine for 3 days then it started having an issue where it would not turn on. I sent it back to BenQ on a RMA. I had to make numerous calls to BenQ to get an expected replacement date. After much headache BenQ sent me a refurbished loaner project on 1/11/2024 to use while they determined the issue with the 820ST. I finally received my new replacement unit on 1/22/2024. It worked fine until today, 2/1/2024, now it has the same issue as the original projector. This is totally unacceptable. There is something wrong with this model of projector. What are the odds that I would get two units with the same exact issue??? Buyers beware.
