How to Install Foam Inserts on your Enclosure
To install foam inserts for your golf enclosure, begin by carefully opening the packaging to avoid damaging the foam. Position a foam piece against the enclosure frame with the narrow edge against the frame and the bottom flush with the floor.
Secure the foam by wrapping the flap around it and fastening it with the hook-and-loop strips, ensuring the foam doesn’t interfere with the connection. Continue adding foam pieces, aligning each new piece with the end of the previous one.
When you reach a corner, press the foam tightly into the corner to form a right angle and secure it with the flaps. Work your way around the screen, covering each foam piece snugly to prevent ball ricochets. Having two people can make installation easier-one to hold the foam and the other to secure the flap.
At the end, trim any excess foam from the final strip so it sits flush with the floor. Review your work to smooth out flaps and tuck corners for a neat finish.

After I get everything set like I want it, how do I save those settings so the next time I turn the projector on everything is the same?
Real life = wind, humidity, temperature and monitor = perfect environment condition?
Lots of variables! If only we had a 250+ yard dome to use. I'll get Carl on building that! 😉
This would be cool if you could just click a button at start up and get it all going but doing all this prior to actually hitting balls is just too much,
Don't disagree there! An "easy button" would be great for all areas of life!
How do you get the FS Software?
Hello! If you're talking about the FlightScope PC software, it is included with the purchase of a Mevo+ now. But if you have an old Mevo+ unit, looks like you can buy the software direct from FlightScope: flightscope.com/products/mevo-fs-golf-pc?srsltid=AfmBOorFqZjuPO6cJfBCjRH8r0VvKgy_0nK_-gc70XtF7QOtA_ilWVeU
Do you have to bring the computer to the range?
Four questions, do either support a native 1x1 display ratio - I have a 10’x10’ screen. Second which would the 500ST be suitable for a table side mount so it could easily used in another room? Does the 500ST have the ability to save different configurations that could be quickly accessed when moved. The ambient light comparison was quite revealing but for those of us not familiar with the LUX measurement could you say what watt light bulb would produce 16 lux so we have an idea what you call ambient light?
Hello! Just as an FYI, we no longer offer the LW500ST, but here are our answers: 1:1 ratio: I do not believe either have 1:1 built in to the projector, but setting a custom resolution/aspect ratio on a PC is an option. More here: th-cam.com/video/qfPSQ_KzI_c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=g7FP0uYR8rC73TPs Table side mount: Not sure I'm fully understanding the question, but the LW500ST could be used on a table off to the side (to a certain degree) since it has vertical and horizontal keystone. Configurations: we have not checked into a feature like that, so I'm not sure. Sorry! Lux measurement: again, not completely sure and we've changed lighting in our showroom since this video, so I cannot go check. However, found this on Google that might be helpful: tinyurl.com/523366w7 If you have any more questions, I suggest reaching out to our experts on our customer service team here: www.carlofet.com/contact. Thanks!
@ thanks for taking the time to answer, didn’t realize this video was over a year old when I posted the questions
Can you folks compare the X3, Trackman 4, Falcon/Quad? I don’t think any of the devices in the video will work for pro settings.
Hey! Thanks for the comment! Sadly, since we don't sell the X3 or Trackman 4, we do not have them at our office!
Hi, why is it impossible to find an enclosure lower than 2.5m high? My ceiling in the basement is 234 cm high. Nobody seems willing to offer an enclosure for lower ceilings. I can swing most clubs just fine. They all push me to just get a Net return net. The same applies to the impact screens. Very frustrating. I live in Europe.
Hello! In our experience we've found that most users need a bit taller ceiling height to comfortably swing a club. However, if you've tested your space and feel comfortable with a shorter enclosure we could create a custom size enclosure to fit your space. Since the space you've described would require an enclosure shorter than any of our standard sizes though please keep in mind that the enclosure would not be eligible for return once ordered. If you'd like to learn more about how to potentially place this order, please reach out to our customer service team here: www.carlofet.com/contact

This can do a match with 2 or more players playing in sequence and keep track of everyone's score?
If you play the courses on Home Tee Hero (subscription reqd), you can play with up to four players. You can also connect to third party software like GSPro and play multiplayer games/rounds!
The app store shows that the app isn't available for Android tablets but side loading does work. Also, GS Pro is now officially supported.
Good to know! And yes, unfortunate timing with the recording/release of this video and GSPro being supported!
@CarlsPlace I don't know that it's unfortunate timing. I'm using my r10 outside so I don't really have a good option for GS Pro as much as I would like to use it. I thought your video was rather informative.
@@3sotErik I was just referencing that we could have mentioned that new feature of being compatible but didn't know that was going to happen when we recorded the video!
Were you getting italicized or solid numbets on the spin?
Check back at the screen recording. Our spin numbers were not italicized!
@CarlsPlace It is my understanding that italicized numbers indicate that it is estimating the ball spin but if they are not italicized then it's an actual measurement. The r10 firmware update from 2 years ago helped improve its ability to read spin, making the RCT Balls far less necessary for accuracy. Obviously still not perfect and I'm not saying that my understanding is flawless.
Hey! What is the specs of the enclosure size? Length, width, and depth? Thanks so much!
Hello! Approximate dimensions of the enclosure space are: 192"W x 96"D x 123"H. Hope this helps!
What have people done to use this mat with a Bushnell launch pro or GC 3? I know Foresight recommends that the launch monitor beyond the exact same level as where the ball is hit.
These hitting strips fit perfectly in Carl's HotShot Hitting Mat. Check out the whole mat system and accessories here: shop.carlofet.com/carls-hotshot-golf-mat-system Otherwise, people have cut out their own section in other hitting mats or flooring/turf to fit these strips in flush to the surface! In case you have a situation where you still need to lift the launch monitor up a bit, we do offer alignment stands that may help too! shop.carlofet.com/launch-monitor-alignment-stand
When will you have an option with taller grass in this same size?
Great question! We'll have to check with Carl!
I have the gel insert and love it. Do you also offer taller grass in the same dimensions?
We do not, but will pass along the idea!
According to chatgpt: The video "Golf Hitting Mat Comparison // Which mat is the best for you?" evaluates several top golf hitting mats, including TrueStrike, Fiberbuilt, EZ Tee, GoSports, Country Club Elite, and Carl's. Each mat is assessed based on factors such as durability, feel, shock absorption, and suitability for indoor use. For an indoor golf business, the Fiberbuilt mat is highly recommended. It offers a realistic feel and excellent shock absorption, which is crucial for frequent use and to minimize strain on players' joints. Its durability ensures it can withstand heavy usage, making it a cost-effective choice for commercial settings. Another strong option is the TrueStrike mat, known for its modular design and realistic feedback. However, it tends to be more expensive and may require more maintenance compared to Fiberbuilt. In summary, for an indoor golf business, the Fiberbuilt mat stands out due to its combination of durability, realistic feel, and player comfort.
I'm sorry you didn't bother to answer my very simple question, which shows a blatant lack of professionalism.
Hello! Sorry, a lot of our team has been off for Thanksgiving and we are actually catching up from home on a Sunday right now! I would say that if you found the name of your golf course on the Home Tee Hero list, you would be able to play your course at home on the Garmin R50. Home Tee Hero does have a subscription fee.
I'm sorry you didn't bother to answer my very simple question, which shows a blatant lack of professionalism.
So can the image fill a 5 x 3 impact screen?
If you connect it directly from R50 to your projector, it will likely not fit perfectly, but should be close! If you connect it to a PC and then to a projector, you could possibly set a custom aspect ratio/resolution from your PC that will help fill your screen perfectly!
Swinging way out to in
Yup, we aren't pro golfers and know we have some work to do on our swings, but we were purposely swinging even worse to give these mats a true test with chunks and divots!
R50 or GC3 - what would you go for?
That's a great question! If you're looking for accuracy, GC3 is hard to beat - check out our GC3 at the range video. But overall features, the Garmin R50 gives the GC3 a run for its money! Looking forward to doing some more R50 accuracy testing!
f the name of my golf club is in the Home Tee Hero list, I can automatically play my course at home. I want to be sure before I pay 7762 $ Canadian taxes included. Thank you for taking the time to reply Reply
Just in case you miss it, we replied on your other comment 😁
Great video
Why not just use velcro backing on all of the panels? Any benefit to the cleats? It seems like it would take way more time to get done.
@@richardvoyageur Hey, thank you for your comment! Our product design team considered several options for mounting our panels to the wall and found the french cleat style system to perform the best for the size and weight of our panels. We've found them to hold the tiles securely and pull them tight to the wall during installation. If you prefer to use another option for mounting the panels you're certainly welcome to, but in our experience the french cleat system offered with our panel kits has performed the best and is the option we'd recommend for installing out panels.
Time for another one of these for the R50
Once we get all our schedules lined up and a semi-decent weather day, we'll be doing our best to get outside. Wisconsin weather hasn't been cooperating!
Can the same be done if your screen/ratio is larger than a standard 16:9?
Let's do ball cus I'm not going to put stickers on my clubs...... so don't take the 5 seconds to put 1 sticker on a club to show us the full system 😂
This was just the unboxing and setup. We've got more content with the R50 planned!
I think I heard from someone else, you can’t download data to one’s iOS/PC. It goes straight to Garmin. Question is, if you have a Garmin account, can you download load the data then? Thx
Looks like the data is stored in the Garmin Golf app, but shareable from there!
It’s cool but GSpro still requires a computer. It’s GSpro or nothing for me.
Yup, definitely a "drawback," if you will. Wonder when someone will come out with an all-in-one unit that has GSPro built in?! 🤔
Is that the benq ah700st projector? I Just ordered one to use with my r50
Yes it is!
Who is going to draw short straw to run through a field for range accuracy measurements?
Man ... Tim and Mike would both love to get the R50 outside to test it. You know the first decent weather day we can make work, we will be out there, but Wisconsin weather hasn't been friendly since our unit was delivered!

Hello! Unfortunately, we can't make a confident recommendation for another manufacturer's screen. If it was one of our projection screens, we would recommend using a hair dryer on the low setting on the back side of the screen to remove wrinkles. However, your screen could be made of a different material that responds very differently, and so all we can really recommend is that you get in touch with them.
E ink screen is why the power off does not refresh the screen. This tech will keep the last screen present until it is sent a new one to display. It uses no power unless it is actually refreshing the screen. Best for battery life and since it is a reflective medium like ink on paper, sunlight does not wash it out. It is a good tech choice for a launch monitor as it is just presenting data and can keep that on screen without any battery whereas a lcd would need constant power in order to keep displaying the data of a shot. So if you walked away for a couple of minutes before taking the next shot, the screen would use no power in those two minutes whereas a lcd would use the same power every second it is on. Downside is this would not be good to display video on as 30 frames per second would require it to refresh fast (which e ink it doesn’t do well…most take about a second to refresh).
Interesting! Thanks!
Hey guys, love this! I am finding that every time I reopen OBS, the projector isn’t showing the scene until I reallocate the floor projector. Is there a way to save the settings? Also, each of the window capture sources loses the window on reopen. So, I have to recreate sources each time I want to do this. Any ideas? Thanks
Hello! Thanks for the comment! It should save the setup/settings in the scene section of OBS. It's important to note that this is just a free software work-around and this isn't meant to specifically function for floor projection, so it's not going to be a perfectly seamless experience. Make sure you're doing everything in the right order. All your windows/programs/displays that your OBS scene is pulling from need to be open and in the exact same display size as when it was created. For example, if we pull in a video from TH-cam or Google, that webpage needs to be already up and the correct window size that it was when the OBS scene was built, otherwise it wont come in, or it'll come in cropped differently. Same if OBS is opened before the projector(s) are turned on, OBS wont be able to setup the scene. Hopefully this makes some sense!
Can this projector do 4:3 aspect ratio? I'm thinking about ordering the DIY enclosure from you guys but I only have enough space for 4:3
Where would you place the projector so that it doesn't cast shadow? And if you mount it on the ceiling your own website says that it needs to be 48" higher. Wouldn't that mean the enclosure will block the projector at the top?
Hello! Thanks for the comment. Projector placement all depends on the size of your screen (or size of image you want on your screen). You can use our screen size calculator at this link (www.carlofet.com/screen-size-calculator) to help you figure out where this projector might need to be mounted in your space. In general, our recommendation is typically to not mount a projector more than a few feet behind the hitting area, otherwise you might risk dealing with shadows. We recommend the hitting area be a minimum of 10' from the impact screen. Hopefully this helps. If you have more questions, reach out to our expert customer service team here: www.carlofet.com/contact
@@CarlsPlace Thank you for the response. But this is not a short throw projector. Your calculator says this projector would be 16'. How would you place this projector? I was considering getting this projector because of the video, but I'm not sure how this can be your "favorite projector yet", when it looks like it will not work with shadows.
I was actually considering the PT-VMZ71 for the higher brightness, but it looks like both will cast shadows. If you could please recommend a location where a normal throw projector can be used without casting shadows, that would be very helpful.
@@CarlsPlace Also, this projector is 16:10 aspect ratio natively? Can they do 4:3?
@@tusasales3243 Hello! You are correct, not a short throw projector. We find that this unit works best in larger home bays or commercial bays where you have flexibility to move back your tee position! In our showroom, we have this unit mounted at 16 or so feet with a tee position of about 12 feet from the screen. As for aspect ratio, yes this one is 16:10. It does have a couple built-in aspect options, one being full that looks close to 4:3. However, if you're going to be using a PC with a graphics card, we'd recommend just adjusting the projector's resolution/aspect ratio in the graphics card settings. More on that here: th-cam.com/video/qfPSQ_KzI_c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=huYdcRU1Ou4q0X5D Any more questions? Reach out to our customer service team here: www.carlofet.com/contact.
I don't really get why the image for comparison Is different for each projector. What's the reason of a comparison if you can't compare similar images on different projectors? Your preview pattern shows different colors and different line patterns on each..
Hello! Thanks for the comment. I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. This was not a comparison between projectors, but rather a review on the TK710STi. Can you clarify what you're referring to? Thanks!
@@CarlsPlace at 1:10 there is a comparison with the previous model, best way to do that is to show same image on both projectors, and not splitting one image between them. That way we can see how same color and same pattern looks on both. You do the same comparison at 6:45 with a monitor
@@NullifierMotion Ah, gotcha. Yes, understand where you're coming from and will keep that in mind for next time. Although the way we did it in this video still gives you a decent idea of how they compare!
When I set my custom ratio exactly as you did in the video it worked perfect. Right until I went to mirror the computer screen and projector , the projector then reverted right back to its native aspect. Any fixes for this ?
Hey! Thanks for the comment. From the way I understand it, when you extend your display, you're working with two different displays and can customize either resolution. When you duplicate the display, you are telling the computer to send the same resolution you're using on your computer monitor to your projector. I don't think there is a way around that, but one idea that came to mind is unplugging your computer monitor from your PC and only having the projector plugged in. Then you should be able to customize the resolution again. Doubt that helps, but figured we'd pass along anyways!
Weird question alert, how long is the power cable?

Should I get this or the Hisense C2 Ultra? They seem to be the top laser projectors at the moment with the Valerion Visionmaster Pro 2 being great too but releasing in December.
Great question! We only have experience with what we sell, and the TK710STi looks great!
No, I tried with normal white wall and showing bad picture quality
Does this reduce image quality significantly? My space does not allow for a perfect 16:9 or 4:3 screen if I am going for largest possible screen to fit the space. I am trying to decide if I should go with largest possible screen to fit my space (which I would prefer if the custom aspect ratio does not significantly reduce image quality) or go with largest possible screen that falls within one of those standard aspect ratios. Which do you think would be best? Thanks for you input!
Great question. I'll try to answer below as best as I can, but you might be better off speaking with our customer service here: www.carlofet.com/contact This is how I understand it: you fill the height of the screen with the projected image, then put in the custom aspect ratio/resolution and it might cut off some pixels on the side. So you might lose pixels, but it shouldn't distort the image. However, the further away you get from the standard aspect ratios, the tougher it will be to make it work and look how you want it to look. I hope that makes sense. Again, confirm that info with our expert customer service team though!
Have you made a comparison video between the BenQ LK936ST and the BenQ TK710STI? Not sure it is worth the 3K difference. Both being laser Projectors.
Not with the TK710STi, but with the original TK700STi. You can find that here: th-cam.com/video/BVOeHTFi0xY/w-d-xo.html
