They provide a slight reprieve wherein the cars do not possess a tail pipe to release exhaust fumes in the vicinity as they do not operate on fuel but on batteries. There is a tail pipe for electric vehicles but it is located elsewhere. In every step of the manufacturing and supply chain, fossil fuels are burnt in massive amounts. 1. Mining the ore of various minerals / metals (Cobalt, Lithium, Nickel, etc). 2. Extraction process where the mineral / metal required is extracted from the naturally occurring ore. 3. Manufacturing process for just the batteries. 4. Manufacturing processes for all other components of the electric car (tires, interior switches and panels, electronics, upholstery, etc). 5. Manufacturing / assemblage of the electric car. 6. Global logistics (usually shipping, road and rail. Air freight in rare cases in smaller quantities). 7. Last but never the least - Electricity at home or at charging stations to charge the batteries. None of the above steps are 'Green'. These EVs and the 'Green' promise is a prestige and status related idea that is sold to people to feel good about themselves. Similar story with the craze over 'Organic' labelled foods. The automobile industry across the world went through amazing innovations and improvements over the past few decades. But this crawled to a plateau of sorts because modern internal combustion (IC) engine cars have reached amazing levels of convenience, performance, comfort and reliability. There were very little novel 'Aha' features in each subsequent model of cars that the average citizen of the world was driving (excluding supercars and hypercars). After seen this video i have changed my mind not to buy EV for short range. instead of that cost i can buy good multi gear bicycle and get good riding experience and fit body. instead of buying Electric scooter for short ride we can use bicycle like the Netherlands. The electric scooter ranges are 60km per charge or max 80 km in budget segment and battery life 2ys only after that again we have to buy new battery which is going to cost us 30% to 40% of EV cost, so for that we can use bicycle which is good for us and environment, very economical too, anyone can afford it. thanks for this eye opening video. hats off to your presentation.
See the issue .. In India they try sell uss cheap products ... Tata Nano,Maruti Alto and infact most of the cars they are not fit to drive in highways as they dont have airbags(except high end vehicles)... hence India is a big market and these pp, fool us...

Well said, before introducing any electric vehicle they must check the practicality for the people. If the electric vehicle is only option then they should plant many charging port as same as we used in the petrol bunk. Without taking these steps we should not buy it..instead they making charging vehicle. They should include both combination electric and fuel.then its an welcoming option for all of us 😎

It is advisable to use EVs for short distances for now like going to grocery shop or going to the market etc. I am pursuing Electrical engineering but I still don't recommend buying an EV because there was no proper study conducted on the safety nor it wasn't conveyed to us properly
