I played the oskar deck for months and it warranted so much with such absurd reanimating early game. I only won to people conceding to the terror of archfiend and toxrill plaguing the rest of the game.
Another sneaky deck that I really love is my Volrath, the Shapestealer deck. Its suffed with all those cards that are naturally balanced because they're 1/1's that have a "do something equal to this creatures power". Volrath just goes supersayan when he can turn into something with evasion and then before damage turn into a Cold-Eyed Selkie, Dreamstealer, or Tervigon! It's so much fun to watch peoples jaws drop xD
1) Tayam - Warden of the Sanctuary: nice to draw and generate tokens, nice to saceifice and trogger Cathar's Crusade - Fain the Broker loves removing counters for treasures! 7) Yurlock - Sword of the Paruns: it's basically the same as Umbral Mantle
"People don't kill Baeloth fast enough." My Baeloth / Clan Crafter deck: "Before I untap with him isn't fast enough?" :P Shirei was the first deck I made a list and bought singles for (although this was a 60 card deck) can confirm. My favorite card is Chimney Imp to Yata-lock everybody.
I literally JUST built tayam like two weeks ago and it functions so good. Nobody expects three or less to contain so many relevant threats until there's ten to fifteen of them that basically can't die
board wipes... I've discovered lately that people don't play enough... I only started playing again about 2 months ago... it seems like I'm the only one running them... is there some stigma against them... it isn't like I am playing board wipe tribal... just 5 to 7 a deck. so I usually hit one ... literally have only had spot removal and counterspells played against me... usually they are countering a commander... i get the mana curve, but getting the whole board is sort of counter magic
@@echoesvayne9790 5 or 7 boardwipes is quite insane imo i think most decks should run 2/3, one being able to hit most nonland perms and 2 for creatures 5-7 means you alone are probably casting 3 a game unless you dont have a lot of card draw
@@echoesvayne9790 there's not really a stigma against board wipes as a whole, but definitely against playing any more than 4 in a single deck. If you're board wiping that many times, you should either be winning the game, or theyre one sided in which case you basically won't he game. They extend the game for too long when you play that many in one game
@@echoesvayne9790 boardwipes also hit your permanents, unless you're playing an indestructible pillow fort deck in which you could probably just win the game with an aristocrats style or some other way that doesn't involve a 15 turn game. i play mostly high power games now but it's a miracle if 3 boardwipes happen before someone wins, and in battlecruiser if you're boardwiping every other turn, the game will last 2 hours
I know we called Devoted Druid in Tayam "fair", but any Giant Growth-type effect of +X/+2 or greater goes "infinite" with Tayam+Druid because you can make the 3-mana AND the three counters with the Druid alone. So you mill out your deck, and return every 3-mv permanent you need.
Yedora the grave gardener is my sneakiest commander. On face value it makes forests when your creatures die. Then you pair it with land animation and a decent sac outlet and let the crazy loops begin
21:28 ''...Swing somewhere else.'' I have Noble Heritage in my Ninth Doctor deck for double upkeep triggers, I love how fast it can grow a board state via +2/+2 x2= +4/+4. Noble Heritage is underrated. - So Balmor works like a Xada Hedron Grinder deck with lots of cantrips and storm AND its Izzet? Sign me up, most people know that Xada is too crazy to allow out... the things I've done with 2 1/1 tokens in a mono red deck but now a Izzet version *evil laughter :P
I absolutely LOVE my Baeloth/Noble Heritage deck. I’m giving my opponents counters and cards which don’t hurt me all the much with them being goaded and such. It’s so much fun because it’s a little political as well and budget as well.
Great list having played all these decks I can confirm they are really surprise once they rolling another few decks I might add is Osgir he seems to always get underestimated but he can do some work I have a deck with him they never expect Boros to draw 30 cards and get 10 lands in to play/ in hand on turn 5
My friend has a Tayam deck and it is such a "win out of nowhere" kind of deck. The amount of times I've had the upper hand and he'll throw out a "Well, let's activate Tayam and see what I can pull together" and then proceeds to go infinite, is too high to count 😂
There's a guy in my play group that has a Yurlok deck. It's so nasty, and it looks like it doesn't do anything, then all of a sudden, you lose half your life and are just sitting there, speechless.
Kalain the reclusive painter is also always ignored when I play her. People are worried about everything else, as they’re getting a ton of +1 +1 counters. Tons of treasure and weird win conditions.
If I run Tayam, and I throw on doubling season, do I throw two vigilance counters on my creatures? Effectively leaving one on when activating the effect of Tayam?
My sneakiest deck is definitely gylwain, people get caught up on what the role tokens do but after the game people are like oh that’s busted, turns out getting enchantress triggers of playing creatures is pretty good
I have a Baeloth/Noble Heritage deck. It's a lot of fun. It's basically equipment Voltron, but I don't attack, I just get him bigger and bigger to goad everything on the board 😂
my katilda deck is even sneakier than jaheira. there are so many 1/2/3cmc humans and now Esper Sentinel, Soul Warden, and E-Wit are mana dorks. jaheira is also a human and i make tons of tokens and katilda gives +1 counters so Rishkar Peema Renegade adds more redundancy. then i can Shamanic Revelation into Collective Unconscious into Camaraderie into thousand Year Elixir into Halo Fountain for the win.
I Love to copy all seeing Arbiter. Because each one triggers of all discard I casted a rite of Replikation in it once... Now I Draw 12 discard 6 nerf 36 creatures
I have a pretty new deck that has a ridiculous win rate. It's Octavia, Living Thesis. It's not that good tho lol. Somehow by a miracle it currently has a 100% win rate! You might be thinking that's absurd! Well I've only played 5 games with it and it's always won by the skin of it's teeth lol.
5 Color sissay people always underestimate until they see it in action then you just become the archenemy every time you bring it out😢 Ya my sissay is the only thing on the field and can only tutor out cmc 2 or less… I cast giant growth make her a 5/5 and tutor out either jagantha or 5 Color lotus on someone’s end step and just win….
If people you play against underestimate Sisay they’re not good magic players, any decent magic player is killing the creature that has tutor stapled to it, with a high ceiling and is a commander
the general rule is just kill the comanders always lol... it feels bad... but that's the play... most of the games I win are because I ironically don't early cast my commander.
For me and the dude is so on theme with your channel would be the commander Circu, Dimir Lobotomist, because he slowly mills and may if you are very lucky exile and ban Sol ring from the game like it rightly should be. Thing is run a lantern control package along with isochron scepter a sol ring as of course we cast ours before banning it before anyone else cast it and of course dramatic reverse you out of nowhere reduces everyone decks into nothing. Whilst being a absolute nitpicking nerd declaring card is banned and nitpicking what is allowed in a person's hand and what is not allowed. Truly sneaky and diabolically nitpicking.
I'd throw Hallar, the Firefletcher in there. Hallar always gets underestimated: it's an uncommon 3/3 for 3, most Kicker spells are mediocre at best, and Hallar's trigger deals damage equal to the number of +1/+1 counters instead of power...but Hallar gets people dead so much faster than you'd think.
Throw in all the just double counters on a creature and it goes wild. All I want is a blue red green kicker commander so I can jam my Verizol and halar into one deck
That was sneaky like the first week it came out, after that people figured out to just kill the commander, without the commander you have cards that actively make you deck worse
I’ve said it once I’ll say it again, I’m super happy that Joe cherries left, he really brought the episodes down always looking upset he wasn’t the one talking, kinda also tracks why his channel didnt do so hot
More videos like this!!! I love finding the small little commanders that turned out to be really really good. Love the videos!!!
Second this, these are exactly the kinds of commanders ive been trying to find
I can confirm Balmor is a certified “wait, what?” type of commander 😂
Great content, for me the best one of the best on the channel! Spotting and exploiting under track lines Is what makes the experience unique!
Loved the Kamber shoutout. I've got a deck around them and their partner and it just does everything while somehow maintaining a low profile.
I played the oskar deck for months and it warranted so much with such absurd reanimating early game. I only won to people conceding to the terror of archfiend and toxrill plaguing the rest of the game.

You need to be pretty sneaky to survive on the mean streets of Ravnika, especially if you're trying to run a mob like our guy Krenko does.
These are really cool Commanders. Some of them I have never seen before. Thank you for the video Nitpicking Nerds.

oh hey Baeloth made it somehow! Unfortunately, people tend to remove him when they realize the goad is a pain in the ass lol
I built Oskar on a whim and can agree he is a menace when I play him! Giving all your stuff pseudo flash is bonkers 😛

I use desecrated tomb in my Aclazotz deck that I just built. It's great for the bat theme and reanimator style strategy.
I have a super nasty Jaheera deck with haunted one background as an elf tribal and it some serious work
There's a guy in my play group that has a Yurlok deck. It's so nasty, and it looks like it doesn't do anything, then all of a sudden, you lose half your life and are just sitting there, speechless.
I don't see the Yurlok of Scorch Thrash deck listed on Moxfield when searching by your decks? Was it accidentally marked unlisted?
As a proud Tayam pilot, this video made me smile :)
Kalain the reclusive painter is also always ignored when I play her. People are worried about everything else, as they’re getting a ton of +1 +1 counters. Tons of treasure and weird win conditions.
Tayam is high tier cEDH. He's absolutely a kos commander.
If I run Tayam, and I throw on doubling season, do I throw two vigilance counters on my creatures? Effectively leaving one on when activating the effect of Tayam?
I've been looking for a commander with a discard engine in mind so Oskar might be the perfect fit.
Aye I just so happened to watch this on my bday thank you😊
Great list, thank you 🎉
My sneakiest deck is definitely gylwain, people get caught up on what the role tokens do but after the game people are like oh that’s busted, turns out getting enchantress triggers of playing creatures is pretty good
Lazav, the Multifarious says hello
Nice, I've literally been brewing a jaheira & urchin deck!
I didn't even know this channel still existed.
16:50 I'm pretty sure storm doesn't trigger Balmor.... It needs cast triggers. Am I wrong?
Mia was just talking about a big Balmor turn and she didn't mean that storm cards would trigger Balmor extra 👍
@@NitpickingNerds That'll do it! Thanks for the clarification. I would've had to go back to the drawing board on a few of my decks!
I love Yurlok so much. "Here, have all this mana. Now suffer!"
Oskar… one of kamiz’s best employees 😅
Jaheira… she’s Sam and Frodo’s mvp!
Love cumulative Upkeep stuff in Tayam
I have a Baeloth/Noble Heritage deck. It's a lot of fun. It's basically equipment Voltron, but I don't attack, I just get him bigger and bigger to goad everything on the board 😂
Deck list?
I also have one of these decks and my opponents hate it. It is a fun deck to play though and it’s also fairly budget which is awesome.
A sneaky commander is Nezahal. I swear, someone built it to be voltron, and he whipped us all
I don't see the Yurlock deck listed!
Need that $50 Oskar deck on moxfield 🙏
Sherei can be such a budget commander too.
What happened to Joe Cherries?
my katilda deck is even sneakier than jaheira. there are so many 1/2/3cmc humans and now Esper Sentinel, Soul Warden, and E-Wit are mana dorks. jaheira is also a human and i make tons of tokens and katilda gives +1 counters so Rishkar Peema Renegade adds more redundancy.

I wish my opponents underestimated Shirei lol he dies approximately 15 seconds after I play em unless I have some sort of protection
Matzalantli, the Great Door goes insane in Oskar decks
I Love to copy all seeing Arbiter. Because each one triggers of all discard
I casted a rite of Replikation in it once... Now I Draw 12 discard 6 nerf 36 creatures
