- I got tired of accepting the money I wasted on a fake version of Shure's SE535's that broke in a week, so I went ahead and bought some REAL ones for a pretty good deal. The bass on these real buds are insanely good and yet, not overpowering. Though the fake SE535's I purchased from Ebay don't sound horrible, they are completely out-classed by the real deal.

They look for well known manufacturers or brands and because of their cheap labor they are pretty skilled at making copies of almost every thing these days. Everyone is looking for the best deals, but in my opinion buying stuff on EBAY or Amazon is very risky. Even pharmaceutical products are being counterfeited in China. If the shipping time takes longer than usual, that's a red flag that it's not coming from a authorized and reputable seller in the U.S. Remember, if it's a real bargain and the pricing is very tempting the chances are it's a counterfeit. China counterfeits almost every well known brand and category. Their most lucrative scam are car parts such as spark plugs, oil filters and electronics.
What about the weight or genuine and fake? without ear bud plugs.
It's actually quite difficult to determine the weight difference without an accurate scale, but they generally weigh about the same with both being composed of a plastic material. The real se535s should weigh slightly more since it uses a larger driver than the fakes.
also the real ones should have a matching serial number next to the nozzle

i already had the 215, and wanted to upgrade since its been 6 years on going, Shure in ear is a reallly great earphone tho, the 215 still good but well i want it better. I almost got fraud, to get the fake one LOL thanks to you bro
thanks for the comparisons man, i was really paranoid that i got some fake ones but after your video they seem to be legit. I have contacted shure with about 10 photos and will see if they can verify them.

i just buy directly off of them after getting fakes from amazon for the full msrp.
se535 v/cl has different sound signature than se535 ltd (red). most people buy the red one now or do the filter mod on their clears to make it sound like the red ltd
I bought a pair from Amazon Mexico and I was worried because my first pair came in a damaged/broken box so I return them, the second pair came in a perfect box but both boxes came with lots of glue on the flap where you open the box, but mines look like the pair of Gear for Music, plus mine were something like 340 dollars.
Got a pair for 30bucks... If they even sound alike, its a good deal... But cuality comes expensive with brands...

260 bucks and you got fakes? Ouch... Was it in box/new? Won an auction on Ebay the other day and I was nervous as hell and hadn't even spent that much, guess I got lucky then.
Yea, they came in a replica box and were supposed to be the Limited Red Edition 😅 Came with shure case and comply tips but in the end i got scammed! But yea, ebay can sure save a buck or two if you're lucky 😆

I have shure se 215, the left sound is loud than the right is my shure se 215 fake?
There is a chance that the filter of the nozzle on the earbud is clogged 🤔 Its less likely that the earbud is going bad unless you've owned it for years! Hard to say if its fake without seeing or hearing it myself 😅

I just got a pair off eBay for the first time usually get them from Sweetwater or Amazon. Same this to save money. The ear tips are different so now I’m worried. But they seem the same as my old pair otherwise.
is this still worth to buy 2019 does it compete with 2019 emis like fiio or other or maybe kz zs6?
In my opinion, yes 👌...but only if you can get them for under $400. Ive never tried fiio earbuds but I have tested the zs6. While the sound is great for the price, the highs are too powerful at times and overwhelm the other sounds. The SE535s are still king in this price range if your looking for a balanced and realistic sound with some kicking bass 👍
Compared to the KZ ZS6 it will blow them out of the water, it blows the zs10 pros and as10 ba10s out of the water on sound.

I have a question, in the originals the sleeves or rubber has small imperfections, I have a photo but I can not include it here
I noticed the 'toast' shape cable connector top part on my se846. It is silver toast on the left side and the right side is the gold star/dot around. Weird, but the cabling is authentic otherwise. Also weird is the second cable is both star gold shape pattern which i would of expected both sets to be. Looking closely with a magnifying glass everything looks authentic on my se846 that i bought from 'authorized retailer' original price 900$+tax on ebay. Second thought i wish i just bought directly from Shure or authorized local dealer or maybe amazon, but the box was sealed and everything looks authentic down to the serial number matching and frequency specs on the drivers. Sounds great, (shouldn't compare different types but maybe comparable moreless, to my $400 denon over ear headphones from 2008. I feel mine is genuine except for the odd 1st pair of headphone cable connector...might of been switched or maybe that is ok. i'm going to use the second cable instead. maybe i will return and buy from Shure direct but box was sealed and i will do some more music testing.
Also i can see the wire that allows it to be bent in the toast shape silver connector as well as the gold star shape connector cables. so that's normal too. thanks for the video.
No problem! And you se846's sound legit to me 😁👌. I believe the "toast" shape was actually normal for 846's but not on 535s(though I never owned 846s), so I'm certain your pair was authentic! Congrats on your purchase 😉

@@etherreal4393 They are actually authorized dealers, found them on Shure's website list. They sound great so far. I'm just used to my Denon over the ear headphones and not used to IEMs, but they do sound great.
Sound quality: What I'm not used to is maybe the signature sound of shure or IEMs in general. They sound almost a little bit like the sound is slightly behind or not as forward or as close sounding as i would of thought... but that's just got to be me. and even though these don't require an equilizer I feel like using the software eq on my computer and piano and E drums. Probably because I prefer to hear certain frequencies moreless. The white filters are a bit bright so i'm putting the blue ones back in. The sub woofer bass is AMAZING!, also the mids and trebles all great. I just prefer using a equalizer on piano and drums to get the sound a bit more forward, hard to describe, but no big deal.
@@Greg-re7tr Great insight, I'd love to try se856's someday (maybe when I'm a little more rich 😅)! I do prefer sound of over ear headphones but not their look/portability. I also found that changing between different comply ear tips also changes bass response. Overall, they're about the best sounding earbuds money can buy 😌👌
The chinese buy all the broken se215 then they repair them and slap them into se535 and sell them on wish and Amazon and different generic web sites you'll know when you get them because there won't be any filter in the stem of the earpiece and they will have a seam that is very easy to open and the whole inside will have a chrome silver look to them ...thats to block the buyer from actually seeing the drivers inside of the and the price should tell you every thing ...I am a professional studio drummer as well as live and one thing I can tell you is shure doesnt skimp on quality!!
some good quality info right there, thanks 😄! One of my se535s has since broken (due to my own negligence by having a wireless setup accidentally falling off one ear and into a bucket of paint 😑) . Still have my one iem tho because they're awesome when trying to use for referencing clear audio. I have since moved on to Thieaudio's Monarchs, though *very* expensive, they are otherworldly when it comes to sound performance. Shures precision is still a go-to tho 😆!

Should there be a serial number on each nozzle where the ear buds go? My bronze SE535’s do not have one, I also don’t have a filter in the nozzle and shouldn’t there be?? I’m also underwhelmed with the sound
hmm, that depends 🤔 ...the ltd red model apparently had a change in the way some things were arranged, but as for all other regular models like the bronze, a filter/damper should be included as a standard if you bought directly from Shure 🤔... despite all that, sound should not be underwhelming unless you're listening without a good audio capable devise or good eq on a mobile device. Many factors affect sound. If you've already done all that, then it gives the impressive that they aren't authentic. Sorry, but I don't know enough about yours to say forsure. Hope that bit of information helps a little 😉

I think Shure do not put the filter into the red version to extend the high and the low frequencies. So an authentic Shure LTD would not have any visible filter either...

Shure does actually sell the SE535 limited edition in red, maybe not for all the regions and countries. But yes most of the fake ones are in the limited edition red color. :)
Ive seen the red Shure SE535 on their official website for the UK and they look badass! The gold ones looks nice too but leaning toward the red ones..

It's true! I've also heard they have a slightly better bass response than the originals, but yea the problem is that they are the most replicated in the Chinese knock-off market 😑. Really good iem's, just sucks that they're so easy to fake
