Am just about to ditch my standard IEM for a custom pair - this is exactly the video I needed to watch (especially to remind me of the custom moulding for standard IEM's and how much they hurt!) Thankyou!!
Thanks so much. I use Shure535's right now and need to switch because I've definitely been pumping 100dB easily into my ears on gigs. Scary... I'd rather pay for custom IEM's now than hearing aids down the road. Shure's claim to block up to 37dB of outside noise.... I don't believe it!
Yeah, I knew I needed to switch after dealing with ringing longer and longer after practices and shows. Since the in-ears monitors, or using custom mold ear plugs when using floor monitors or the like, I don’t get any ringing and I know my hearing is protected.
Thanks Kevin! And I do have the Bluetooth adapter, but haven't yet tried that out since I'm always plugged in. I need to do that and can let you know what I find out once I do.
@@OneDrummerDrumming Looking forward to the next one! Thx again. The gateway for me was the UE fits. I did 4 calls, and 4/4 gave the edge to UE💭 over the airpod pros! That was a surprise. Then onto the UE5….
I,ve booked my appointment with UE in the UK. I'm definitely going for a pair but not sure whether to go for the UE 11 Pro or the UE 6 pro. I'm really fussy about my music and these will be for listening to music. I like the bass punchy whilst still wanting clarity in the mid and high range, what do you think ? I shall be be sampling both at their office anyway.
Between those 2, I think you might like the UE-6 better for what you're looking for. But what I haven't tried, and may even be better now, is their latest UE Premier. Let me know what you end up with!
Hi, been for my demo session and listened to the 11's and 6's, I was really surprised that for me and what i'm using them for the 6's won the day, whether I've got dodgy ears, although my hearing test tells me i'm class one, the 6's had more separation all the way through and the bass had more punch. very happy with the 6's and can't wait for their arrival, didn't try the premiers as I couldn't stretch to the cost, you were right in your estimation 👍@@OneDrummerDrumming
Thank you! I can't remember if they had be hold my mouth open for the mold, but I do know they sent a detailed list of instructions to take with me to the audiologist...and then they went step-by-step from those instructions when making the molds that I then sent into Ultimate Ears. Everything that I've heard from others is that is the critical part...following those instructions...as the molds needed for in-ear monitors are different than molds audiologists take for hearing aids or other things they do.

Awesome! Happy to help! You'll definitely love having that custom fit for comfort and the sound isolation.

Glad to hear it’s still relevant and helpful!
The Sensaphonic Shure sleeves don't stress the iem nozzles. Fyi
Thanks for sharing your experience, super useful!
Truly enjoyed this! Thx for sharing!
Have you tried then with the Bluetooth adapter?? Tough to find any reviews there

@@2lomp Awesome! Yeah, I find myself using my 6's more often lately...your observation that the overall sounds are separated better is spot on. Enjoy!
This is great (nice playing as well), I’ve heard you have to have your mouth open while they’re taking the moulds, is that true?

@@OneDrummerDrumming that’s great (and important!) to know thanks, and thanks for replying so quickly!
