Wow, just wow. The presentation style combined with your explanation and how you broke down the style into its building blocks made it very followable and gave me immediate impetus to sit down next to a piano again. To put that in context, I last properly played twenty years ago when a "jazz piano" teacher had me practice major and minor scales for six months before he disappeared and I never heard of him again. These five minutes had a bigger effect on me than those six months!

Very helpful! Just to be clear this method does not limit the music to just 2 chords. Instead it allows you to generate many different chords by thinking of them as variations of 2 simpler chords with different moods. Since piano lounge music is all about the mood, we don't really need to know exactly what the chord is, just the mood it brings.

Teaching at it’s fundamental root is all reducing seemingly complex concepts to their simplest terms. What teaching is not? Telling note names, showing what one knows and calling it teaching, talking down to the student etc. The compassion to impart knowledge to others is not about what one cannot do but rather the gift one must find in themselves to impact learning of others which in turn teaches one about one’s true essence. Great share!

I’ve been making music for about 45 years now, and obviously still learn new things from fellow musos from time to time, but, as you grow older, your experience and knowledge grows, so, less and less things are “new” to you, or really an “eye-opener”. This one was, for me bud.
