    I wish I had a Jesse come with my engine! They seem very helpful!
    The Jesse brings everything together...quite literally

    So, I’ve been looking around to see about doing this job myself, and I think I’m just going to pick up an extra shift at work and have a speed shop near me take care of it lol.

      Good call, if your Subaru is anywhere near as rusty underneath like the one I'm working on (02wrx) in PA, it's worth paying a pro to deal with it for sure. It's about 2x the pain vs doing clutch on a fwd car and for the love of cars don't get the roll pins in the axles stuck, they can be a nightmare

    I have a 2011 Subaru Legacy that needs a clutch. Today, I had one place quote me 2,200. They told me that the slave cylinder should be replaced as well. They said it would take eight hours of labor and I think he was trying to tell me there's an additional fee to re-install and "align" the transmission. If you have to take the transmission out, putting it back in should be covered in the hourly labor. Another place quoted me 1,700, but, said if it needs a new flywheel, that would be an extra 500. I've been researching this stuff myself. The flywheel is part of the clutch kit and it's about 200 dollars.

    Hi, I would love to know how to get the ends of the roof rails off my Forester sg5 to paint them? Any tips would be great!

    • @phulpp7243
      @phulpp7243 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You might have already figured it out but the while roof rail comes off by unbolting from under the headliner, then after the while rail comes off, they unbolt from the rails. Hope that helps!

      Hahahaha I noticed it after 😂 coilovers going in this week so it’ll get a proper alignment after! I’m still on a 5spd, and I liked what it offered as far as power levels and driving feel!

    So how long does it actually take you yourself start to finish for a clutch job on that car?

    Any updates on the clutch, about to buy their 6 puck or their street elite full face and you’re the only person I can find running McLeod. I’ve put them in a lot of mustangs and vetted as well and they’ve always been great.

    confused about the 10 minutes, looks like a 1 to 2 hour job maybe more if things are rusty as they tend to get here in the northeast. would it have been faster, easier to pull the motor ?

  • @theycallmered27
    @theycallmered27 ปีที่แล้ว

    First person ive ever seen pull the transmission on a Subaru to change a clutch. Engine is easier to pull but otherwise good job 👍

    I feel like pulling the motor would be easier?! I hate draining the coolant but I definitely would rather pull the motor!! Haha

  • @forg0tin397
    @forg0tin397 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s so much easier just pulling the motor. You can pull the motor in under a hour if you know what you doing. Don’t have to pull all the axels and what not or drop the trans.

    Well rolling the jack over, cranking it up, opening up the tools, getting under the car, actually swapping the clutch, lowering the jack and putting it back, test driving the new clutch, cleaning the tools and putting them away, changing out of the work clothes......etc is included in your 10 minutes? Test drives generally take 10 minutes alone. This took an hour or more on a pipe dream

  • @Seele_Hypnos
    @Seele_Hypnos ปีที่แล้ว

    why wouldnt you just pull the motor to replace your clutch? dropping the trans seems like making more work for yourself
