I’m not gonna get into the Julie or Kai drama, instead I’m just gonna state what I wish would’ve happened. After all these years, I wish Ben would have ended up dating an alien and that character would have been his “endgame” relationship. Ester, Looma, and Attea were nice little bits of that but of course the show had to treat two of those as gags and the other got royally screwed over. I mean, his human relationships haven’t been that great and if Grandpa Max can date two aliens and have healthy relationships with both of them then why can’t Ben??
@@Jaded_Jinx I love that idea! And imagine if they first meet as enemies and he has to fight her as Alien X (that way we could see which species is stronger)
Elena was a wasted romantic interest, I think even Kuro mentioned how she being introduced into AF S3 and slowly getting closer to Ben , thus a breakup between him and Julie would have been better handled
It's a shame this show has so many love interests, but never nailed any of them. Julie was great at the start, but later became extremely toxic to create tension. Ester is great but didn't show enough of their relationship and basically slowly dies off screen. Kai is a good character. But has so much of her interaction just fighting Ben that made me hate her. There's no chemistry between them Luma and Atea are just a gag. So there's not much to examine there
Kai and Ben were actually cute in the way they kept fighting meaning she got under bens skin romantically too and when he trips and kisses her I thought that was freakin adorable! It low key reminded me of Han and leia lol
@@pavloszimbrakos4410 yeah with Kai only appearing at 1 episode in classic and four episodes in Omniverse. To be honest the scenes between them were handled poorly and the dynamic and writing is lazy as they made it fast so that their future could happen but to me I just want Kai as a lesson for Ben that when you crush someone, they never like you back, instead for some random trivia that appear they are together in the future or maybe some guy in the future say that they are destined to be together since he turns out to be their son from a different timeline who wants to live in the same timeline with his parents
Yeah I think Ben 10 doesn’t hanndle romance well when it comes to Ben himself , the only canon couple together and that’s healthy is Gwen and Kevin , ig I agree with you there too we didn’t see much of Julie’s personality besides tennis girl I would want a it’s not easy being Julie episode like Gwen had in alien force , i would have liked her more and eveyone too
What confuses me though is if reality was completely rewritten so devlin is somehow Gwen’s kid or if some version of the original timeline came into play but he still became good
Ben did had a lot of love luck and later in the Ben 10 omniverse it was showing that Ben and Kai from the classic were in love and married in the future. Even though I saw how Ben was in love with Julie back then, but it didn't work out well. So therefore, Ben had to find other girls who like him and it was a challenge to Ben. And this point, Ben could've literally had a harem, but it never happened
There's a reason why people prefer Ben with Estaer, they both gel well together (it helps that their VAs are married) and it was a nice change after the writers screw his and Julie's relationship. But with Kai, they just mader her so unlikable when she reappear in Omniverse, she and Ben spent most of their time on screen together fighting and insulting each other, mostly on Kai's end. The writers could've made their relationship interesting but didn't, instead they had them be together because "fate said so."
In an alternate universe where Ben had a kid with Eunice instead of Kai. I imagine it was named Trix. This child can control and switch between her own gender and sexuality at will, but we’ll refer to her as she/her for right now. She is both a natural living being and an artificial being but stronger than both. She has characteristics of a unitrix like her mother, but she also has the abilities of an omnitrix that her father wields. Trix can freely change the functionality and mechanics of her abilities; she can have the abilities of an omnitrix, unitrix, ultimatrix, biomatrix, nemitrix ect. or even create/embody new trix mechanics/features. Due to Trix's anodite heritage, an anodite form is added to the list of transformations. She can transform into any/every species whether it has DNA or not, can change into any plant and animal-based species whether from earth or other worlds, and can even become a Slime-Biot. The species Trix can turn into are more perfect and vastly superior to the species she mimics in every way. Trix can switch between and choose one species to turn into at a time but can also fuse two or more physiologies and even outright become an amalgamation of many or all, just like with Kevin Levin. The various fused forms are stronger than the individual separate forms. Trix’s only limits are the emotions/actions/archetypes/concepts related to all forms of virtue/heroism. This is due to Azuth’s intent for the omnitrix and the unitrix as means for peace and unity and due to her father’s long history of using the omnitrix for heroism. This helps for whenever Trix uses the species from the nemitrix because she’ll be able to control her aggression. Trix is a perfect mixture of both parents appearance-wise. Personality-wise: She is pure-hearted and a master of socializing, psychology, brains, brawn, and handling all situations and matters. She’s always forgiving, opened minded, willing to give the benefit of the doubt, and will sometimes go to great lengths to help those who have fallen and sinned, but is never a naïve, exploitable, bleeding-heart weakling even though she can come off as such to certain others. She never has any interest in being at the center of attention, often preferring to do heroism from the shadows first and would only do hero work more openly if the situation requires it.
The problem with giving Ben a love interest is that if you want it to work you need to let the character reach some form of emotional maturity, which is something CN has always been against because they every series to be like Classic.
I always felt Ester was the right choice for Ben and it'll be a funny nod to how Max had a thing for alien women, sort of like an apple doesn't fall far from the tree thing. Kai just felt forced and in truth the whole destiny thing because *FuTUrE* never made sense for Ben 10 as it's very much established that Bens future changes and isn't set in stone. There are literally 3 different future Bens. They made this whole hate love dynamic with Kai being heavily tsundere which to me also felt slightly forced as she was never like that in Classic. Julie and Bens relationship was always getting rocky with at points it felt like they would've just broken it off. Then the last two love interests never felt like serious ones anyway but more gags for Ben to deal with women problems.
Ben felt so much like Peter Parker that Sony decided to hire his voice actor to “BE” Peter Parker for 3 games and counting with the potential for him to make a cameo in marvels wolverine
Ben certainly had a complex track record of love interests with none of them ever fully working out. Though it’s questionable if Ben and Kai actually end up together in the future or is merely just one possible outcome of a future Ben who was able to make it work with Kai.
Ester was only in 5 episodes? I only caught a couple episodes of Omniverse, but she and Ben had such good chemistry that I thought for sure they'd wind up dating.
To me I always prefer Julie, Kai was stuck up but thats just me. I would like one timeline Ben 10k got with Julie and he's more laid back and mature, while Ben10k with Kai is more outgoing and cocky at times that would been a good episode.
Kai is part of a greater problem of Omniverse ( and the later seasons make this painfully obvious ) Trying to get as close as they can to the original ben 10K timeline as possible with the developments UAF & OV made - Which was only meant to be a *possible future* in classic and not Ben's endgame. It annoys me that Ester was shafted over this because Ben and Ester have the best chemistery out of any couple in the show, she doesn't get in ben's way, their voice actors are married already which lends it's self to the preformances and they're both ( technically ) alien hybrids , Ester being half human and Ben being 1/4th Anodite ( Yes I know he doesn't have " The Spark " ) It also just plays into a trope that I hate in both anime & western animation of the protaganist ending up with their childhood crush or first love interest they run into, it also doesn't help that more often that not when this trope is used the character the protaganist ends up with has very little development or chemistery with the protaganist before the timeskip.
