- The wahoo and kingfish have been biting at sunrise so I went out early with those in mind. Instead ended up in a great battle with this 85lb sailfish. Watch the full length un-edited battle with this great fish.
If you'd love to learn how to fish for these beautiful fish, I learned a lot from my neighbor and Captain,
Capt. Chris Harpster "Keys Disease Charters". You can find him on Facebook. Or (305) 834-3447.
Filmed on 1/7/23.

One Man Sailfish Fishin’ Team!
Quite impressive to catch, land and even record!
@kevinlynch6799 The last 10 days have been crazy, that was the 2nd sailfish I got during that time out by myself. The first one was smaller, right at 64 inches lower jaw to fork.
Love your videos. Always great how to information. I will be in Marathon in 13 days for a week. Have a boat rented for the week as a bonus.
@scottmartin2359 - Thanks for watching. You're coming at a great time. The cooler weather has brought the big game fish in a lot closer. The wahoo, kingfish and sailfish are all in close and hitting hard. My neighbor took a charter out to the Marathon Hump yesterday and they maxed out on blackfin in under an hour! Safe travels.
Nice sail
@capnstevoanythinggoes - Thanks, I'm feeling pretty lucky, 2 really nice sailfish this week. Thanks for watching! Happy New Year.
To which Happy New Year do you refer? I'll watch it, I would not mind getting a keeper Sail next time out of my Big Pine Key roost.@@lowerkeysliving
Awesome fish! That beats Alaska fishing for sure.
@howman3 Thanks for watching. I've done some salmon fishing in Alaska - my neighbor works for a back county outfitter as a guide in Alaska during the summer months - but I do prefer the warm water fishing here in the Keys.
