Rock solid is may favorite build too! Not OP as Bull King or Poison Crit, but very technical and fluid. So satisfying to use. At the beginning could be hard to master it but is always a matter of time.
@@Thanoshadapoint haha glad you liked it. Part of the reasons bosses are whiffing against rock solid is because the rock solid animation makes your hitbox a bit lower. It’s very annoying
this video is proving how you love games! apart of having a channel and views to collect, but my goodness the test you have done are deep bro! good job
deep into my second play through. I used rock solid exclusively cos I love block/parry in games. and yet I never knew you could follow it up with a heavy for instant charged. Again you've schooled me after learning about blocking arrows barrages with the staff spin ( ._.)
Firstly I prefer Rock Solid over Cloud Step. But, the only downside of Rock Solid, is, you have to attack non stop. While Cloud Step, can provide you much window time to heal. Especially some bosses hit so rapidly and don't let you heal at all.
Yeah I usually use Thrust Heavy attack on enemies/bosses, I've noticed its faster as well. When it comes to Pillar vs Smash, its a matter of gambling a risk of taking damage. Pillar takes a lot more stamina than Thrust to maintain when holding a Heavy Attack charge, but Smash deals more damage, and Thrust gets the job done. HOWEVER thrust deals less damage too, but it does give the same result as using any Heavy Attack, such as staggering bosses. Staggering helps with the flow of the battle. I had no idea Rock Solid cleanses Bane/Status effects. That is VERY good to know since Poison is prob the worst followed by burn or paralysis. Freeze...you can just 'wiggle' yourself out and keep dodging left/right til your warming up of your body helps decrease Freeze Bane meter.
Though thrust stance is the best, pillar stance can be very powerful with the right weapons and armor Ex: Golden Loong Staff effect will activate faster and have more dmg because of the gauntlets while also inflicting thunder
yea definitely. Although golden loong staff's thunder effect only gets activated when you have 3 or more focus points so it's not ideal to use it after every deflection. Thrust stance doesn't have the same problem
@@jasonlimjianyung1753 thank you! Normally immobilize but I don’t tend to use it in the video unless I’m using it to do evanescence. I’m releasing a video tomorrow that pairs this build with immobilize so stay tuned!

I prefer using wukong armor set for rock solid build. Because when you at the end game you can stack up critical rate to very high amount. So it reduce your CD a lots even more so than the Rock Solid Set as I play very offensively. And it reduce all cd even if you miss the deflect. And it also works very well with rock solid deflect as you get bonus crit after casting a spell which allow you to crit more with the follow up. I just use that for thosw effect and destroy everything in later NG. But I never use wukong stance as it will just ruin the seen through timing
@@KKKuma yea that’s definitely a very viable option. My gripe with the set is that it forces you to use Jinggubang which falls off later in the game cycles compared to dark iron staff in terms of damage, and losing the two set iron set bonus means that you are not guaranteed a heavy after a deflect, so it didn’t feel as good for me. :( I wish Wukong stance lasts longer so that there’s more incentive to use the set tho
Never used rock solid, I've beat the game using Resolute Counterflow to parry and counter pretty much everything, it feels so damn good. Might have to try rock solid next time, but would have to change the button layout, it's kind of clunky to activate the spell for me.
How are you showing the stat info in parentheses? "(+8% ATK in 6 seconds) @5:34 for example. I can't seem to enable that in my game at all. Are you using a mod or something third party that you enabled? There doesn't seem to be in game settings that enable these stats to show.

Well I saw that! It’s pretty cool but in the end I think it gives less focus points so I don’t think it’s Better than just holding staff spin.. but it does look kinda funny
those depend on your personal liking.. I don't think they matter too much. I like to use the one with 10 drinks and pair it with damage reduction soaks
