So there are four elevation speakers, one set basically right above your head when you're sitting on the couch, and the other above the front speakers. If I buy one set of prime elevations, do you think it would be better to use them for the rear Atmos speakers right above the listener's head, or in front?
I plan on installing these or the klipsch 500sa as front heights but I notice that there's no way to angle/toe them in. Would that make a big difference?

Hey! Yes, that is the best mounting option. It would basically be like having on-ceiling speakers instead of in-ceiling (I didn’t need to try that since I already had in-ceiling ones for the test). If you can do it though, you’d be golden.
tHa_vilLaMaN thanks! Might move my theater one day so I didn’t want to do in ceiling. I’m really excited to hear these babies! Plus I am glad to finally do some business with SVS! Cheers man.
Currently running a pair of Polk OMW3 for front heights (angled down), they are really close to the specs of the Prime Elevations...granted the cabinet and materials of the SVS would surely best the Polks, but I'm curious what you would think of upgrading to these over the Polks. Also, I have the OMW3s as side surrounds (on the rear surround position, sid facing, angled down due to space contrasts, had the front highs as sides prior and they took over the sound stage so moved them to FH).
@Tha_VillaMan can you actually hear a discernible upper soundstage from Prime Elevation in heavy effects mixes like Ready Player One? I have a 4 channel Atmos setup, the back height channels are located right above my head, the front heights are placed similarly to these Prime Elevations, on the front wall and angled towards MLP. My LCR is SVS Ultra Bookshelfs/Center, the heights are Cambridge Audio Minx 22. The reason I'm asking is I'm having trouble hearing a distinct soundstage in my front heights, it seems that my system kind of eats them up. I can hear effects coming directly from the speakers that are over my head, but the front heights sound gets lost in action. Minx 22 are compact speakers that can go down only to 120Hz, so I was thinking that, maybe, this is the reason why. My ceiling is 2.5 meters high. Hello. I have a 5.1.2 configuration. I use the svs prime elevation as front height presence speakers. My question is whether I should set them as large or small in the av receiver menu. :)
hi there. Just subscribed...I'm using a pair of small bookshelf speakers as Atmos with my Denon AVR 4400h...how much 'better" would these prime elevation be? I like their shape better of course-currently mine are mounted high on the wall on top of bookshelves and I tilted them down toward the listening position but I'm not sure these prime would do any better in terms of sound quality and direction...hmm...I would like them in white!!!! thanks!
Hey, welcome about! That’s a difficult question to answer because it would depend on the speaker and it’s currently placement. The elevations are angled so they can be aimed. I can say that in the comparison video I did, SVS’ really impressed me. They went toe to toe with my in-ceiling speakers which cost twice as much. th-cam.com/video/6uesNhBYI4I/w-d-xo.html

It’s definitely ok to mix brand for height channels. My recommendation is to go for whichever fits your space and aim better. Performance is also a big factor because then you can potentially have a lower crossover too
Not sure on their tower and bookshelf speakers but their subs are awesome. I have owned velodyne for years and are also great. Gave svs sub a try and it was worth the 1600 bucks. Velodyne is my second option. would love to hear their other speakers in person to give an honest opinion also

Klipsch hasn’t been very forthcoming with the frequency response of the 500SA, so I’d have a hard time recommending it. Meanwhile I reviewed and compared the Prime Elevations and was definitely impressed, so I’d recommend the SVS.
Do you feel the sound coming from top front or top above your head? I'm trying to get an idea of where to mount. I don't have side walls. So what do you recommend? Yes you can mount them on the ceiling. It’s probably the better option in your case. Just make sure you have the correct placement depending on whether it’s 2 or 4 speakers

I have the RP-500SA as well and perfered them over the SVS Elevation, IMO they sounded better in both Atmos and heights settings.
Not sure on their tower and bookshelf speakers but their subs are awesome. I have owned velodyne for years and are also great. Gave svs sub a try and it was worth the 1600 bucks. Velodyne is my second option. would love to hear their other speakers in person to give an honest opinion also
Can I put 2 over my front towers and side mount the other 2 over seating positions
Yes, that’s exactly what I did.
@@ThaVillaMan another question can I use the svs prime satellites as atmos speakers
yes
trying to decide on either the Klipsch rp500sa or these prime elevations to hang on the front wall, already have 2 Klipsch in-ceiling want to add to make a .4 system. go with my Klipsch rp 600f and 600c speakers?
Klipsch hasn’t been very forthcoming with the frequency response of the 500SA, so I’d have a hard time recommending it.
Meanwhile I reviewed and compared the Prime Elevations and was definitely impressed, so I’d recommend the SVS.
Tha_VillaMan would still be nice to see you get your hands on the RP500SA and give a review even though FR is unavailable
Do you feel the sound coming from top front or top above your head? I'm trying to get an idea of where to mount. I don't have side walls. So what do you recommend? I'm seating 12ft from the screen with couch 1 ft from rear wall. I can do like yours top front or do you think I can mount them on cealing above my head?
Yes you can mount them on the ceiling. It’s probably the better option in your case. Just make sure you have the correct placement depending on whether it’s 2 or 4 speakers
@@ThaVillaMan subscribed. Thanks!
how big is that tv behind you
Again another great video! Vila . Which sounds better tho ur martin logans ceiling speakers or the svs ?
Thanks! My in-ceilings sounds better to me, but the SVS’ were surprisingly close
Do these have to be flush with the front speakers or can I have them anywhere on the wall?
What do you mean by flush with the front speakers?
@@ThaVillaMan Like, do they have to be above my front speakers or could I place them above my tv instead? My front right speaker is in front of my door so I couldnt place the front right SVS speaker above it and it'd have to be above my TV instead
can you mount them on the ceiling
Yea you can
great review, Thankyou
Your making Very good videos on very good topics. Which one is the best when comparing pioneer speakers ( model in your setup) and latest Klipsch RP line. Can you please put some information . I liked pioneer small size and price point in neat package . Is it worth extra cost on Klipsch new RP lineup
Thanks! They both have their strong points. The Pioneer is more airy and sounds better with vocals to me, but the Klipsch has better low end and output.
For a larger room I’d recommend the Klipsch. Anything less and I’d go with whichever is cheaper
Excellent. Thank you very much. You made it easy . Just ordered 2 pairs of pioneer elite atoms bookshelf’s (no plans in ceiling or hanging on wall set up)and central channel, already I have very good sub dynamo 1100x for low end. Currently using with kef ls50 wireless.I will be paring with Denon AVR-X4500H.
Awesome. Sounds like you have an awesome setup that’s only getting better!
Great channel.
Would you be so kind as to slow down the pace of your speech? Thank you. Great video
Been working on that 😭
Where are the speakers you may wanna try showing the speakers more than anything else
Emotiva A1😁😁😁😁
In your Intro the 't' was small man.
Please rectify that.
T from the villa man
I know. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature 😄
@@ThaVillaMan 😊My bad I compared with your channel name. BTW you do nice simple satisfying reviews.
Great video. Thank you for the info.
I have one question for you:
When do we get new subwoofers for Klipsch RP series speakers?
I see only SPL 120 and 100 but I want the sub from the video:

Thanks!
That’s a good question and I wish I knew the answer. They’ve only released the SPL and the C series subs as far as I know
Did your TV get bigger? hahaha
Haha, nope! Same size it’s always been.
@@ThaVillaMan Awesome videos and I'm learning some shit. Thank you.
Thanks, I’m glad to hear that!
