    After some research, I realised the Trek Roscoe was the perfect bike for my build. I chopped the handlebars a bit as I found they were way too wide. The bike is amazing! I couldn’t be happier with it and I highly recommend it for a build. I did get the m/l size and had to mount the battery on the top of the bike as there wasn’t any room in the triangle for it. Something to bear in mind.

    • @Lions_Forever71
      @Lions_Forever71 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m getting ready to do this same exact build. I’m curious about your battery comment, what size battery did you install? Mine is a large frame, so I’m hoping there’s just enough room for a battery inside the triangle, or contemplating getting a slightly smaller battery?

    • @Lions_Forever71

      Also curious what size chainring did you use? And how is your chain line?

      @@Lions_Forever71 I have a standard size Hailong downtube battery, it’s the same Johnny uses for his builds. I’m not sure what size triangle is on a large, best get the dimensions first. Thanks Johnny I watched all your videos with your help I just put a 750watt BBS02 mid drive on my 2014 29er Trek Xcaliber 7, I had to use 1 spacer to get the motor off the chain stay. Still got to get a Lekkie 42t chainring better then the 44t stock ring. My chain line is only slightly off so no dropped chains yet on my 9 speed sprocket, The hill climb is great done around 30 miles so far no problems at all. I just got to get a new seat and adjustable steam, rack and I have a great Ebike you just give me the idea to get the Schwalbe tyres - Thank you for all the help great channel and your build video inspired me to finally do it. I've got some questions on your tannis tire inserts. These cost me 70 bucks a tire and you are supposed to deflate the tires after you use the bike. Do you do this?

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that is a recommendation to "increase the longevity and performance of Tannus Armour" and prevent compression of the inserts. I can't imagine anyone would deflate their tires after every ride. Seems like you would only do that before putting the bike in storage. Bike tires tend to lose pressure sitting anyways.

Not only does the dark grey match the bike nicely, but the epoxy is SLIGHTLY ferrous... so the magnet pulled the epoxy in, making for a very smooth and slick look once it cures. I HIGHLY recommend it as opposed to super glue, which looks kinda crusty, and is too brittle. The J-B Weld is SOLID and super strong, plus looks great to boot!
