I'm 60 and I recently bought a 2003 Gary Fischer mt bike and put a BBS02 set up on it, its pretty freaking sweet. I put a new air shock on the front and higher stem with swept back slightly bars and a cane creek suspension seat post. It had a 46 tooth front sprocket and would almost hit 40 mph with me pedaling like mad. I put a 34 tooth on it and now it only hits about 30 which is still nuts.
Just finished my Electra Townie to a 1500-watt ebike does around 37 mph. I did get rid of the 7 speeds freewheel and went with a single speed 12t freewheel made a good difference in top speed pedaling.
The Verve is a good bike I have a Verve2 I'm doing this to I'm actually getting rid of some old parts 1st, had to change the bars and wheel out back and beef up my drive train before I get nuts and add power
Nice! One question though: how did you deal with the plastic cable stay and hydraulic brake line under the bottom bracket? Did the motor clear all that? Thanks.
Hi Johnny. Great channel. I installed a 52volt 17.5 ah with 750 watt bbs02 motor. I have a 850c display from bafang and it reads 36volts while at the multimeter the battery is at 53.2volts? Is there any way fix this issue? reprogram/replace? Thanks for any information. I've been looking online but haven't been able to find any information on this topic. Cheers from Toronto.
I rented a Radwagon 4 and was completely impressed. I was going to upgrade my Marin Bobcat 4 and my wife's Trek Verve 3 into mid motor e bikes. I am buying a Radwagon 4, there is no way I can make a 2k minivan ebike like this. I like the new geared hub motor on the latest version. I love making stuff on my own, yet the economy of mass production is going to surpass the DIY price range pretty quick. Thoughts on this Johnny Nerd out, your channel is awesome btw.
So, I'm converting my Verve 3 as well. My bike came with exposed shifter cables, and it looks like this one might have as well. So you replaced that with a regular enclosed cable for the rear derailleur in order to clear the motor? I was just thinking of using a low profile bottom bracket cable guide instead of the tall one that came with the bike. Oh, and 36 mph? Wow.
I have a Panama Jack beach cruiser I want to convert. But my evoke needs new batteries costing 300.00 each. So I have a delema. I want to do both if I could figure out all the cost.
Great video. Considering purchasing a new e-bike and was wondering if you could put an ‘estimated’ value on the bike listed below. Appreciate any advice you can send along. Thanks again. Are you a little behind releasing videos? This one was obviously recorded in the fall. The leaves on the ground and in trees look like it's October/November, not May.
videos are just getting better and better....keep it real

Put a 52t lekkie chainring for the real fun.👍😄
And believe me it's a step up from a lot of store bought ebikes.
In my opinion, 30 mph and being able to climb hilly terrain is a good trade off, than going 40 mph.
Nice John thanks for the help on my bike !!! Bought my kit from him I highly recommend him!
Adjustable stem love that.

dude i want to try that kit on mine, but i have a Verve 2 Disk Lowstep. Do you think that kit would still work?
Spring comes and goes in Ontario Canada. Have less than 100 km on my mountain bike this year so far. Hoping for better weather.....
What size Bottom Bracket does the Trek Verve 3 have? Or better yet what model motor do i need to build my own?
Nice! One question though: how did you deal with the plastic cable stay and hydraulic brake line under the bottom bracket? Did the motor clear all that? Thanks.
Love your channel bro!
stupid question... when using only battery acceleration, will the bike accelerate without the pedals moving?
My dad would like to have a moped seat on his bike, any idea where to get that? Combine it with the king cane sadle post perhapse?
Hey Johnny love your ebike builds do you know what glue you use on the brake shift sensor for the hydraulic brakes.
Loctite gel. But jb weld is better
I have the same brake housing for my trek dualsport 2. not sure how to attach the sensors since it's a curved surface.
Nice Bike! Thanks for the vid.
What width crank do these verves have?

Hi, what do you think about CYC x1 PRO GEN2 kit with 3000w? Could you make a revieuw of that?

You can easily build a better specs cargo bike for 2k. Start with a good used cargo bike👍
hi. I have a 120mm bb on my fat bike but i also have a 100mm bb bike. I want to know if i get the 120mm bbshd. I could also put it on the 100mm.
Yes 👍
@@JohnnyNerdOut are there spacers that you can purchase on amazon?
Good morning, like your videos. I heard you mention the cyc x1 at some point in a video. Do you have any experience/thoughts with it?

Did you finish your build? I removed the bottom bracket guide where the cable comes out and plan to use housing. What did you do?
that thing missing fenders. where you want the dirt from the road to go?
Hi Jonny, ive got a M625 and just replaced my freewheel body at 300 miles, is the power too much, what do you recommend, thanks in advance.
Do you have a gear shift sensor?
@@JohnnyNerdOut no, initially i crashed a few gears but then used the rear brake as a cutoff
@@JohnnyNerdOut Do shift sensors work faultlessly.

I would like to see you convert a three-wheeler adult tricycle my plan is to buy everything you just mentioned in this video
I want to do this build.

Hey Johnny, you made a slight mistake claiming that bike had Shimano Acera. It showed a Shimano Alivio derailleur, which is one step better.

Good eye. I had to go back and take a look. Definitely not this time of year.
I have a bunch in the queue 😐
👍👍👍
Typically you show us how it handles that little hill in some park or something but what about going up a hill that is REALLY LONG?
I meant e bike not evoke. Sorry.
