When I did my mod 2 last year, I did the exact same route in my test as I did before with Paul. In the first bit going over the bridge, I also had that in my test too, you have to slow right down and position yourself to the left just in case a car comes flying over. I could hear Paul in this through the intercoms, and I even said to myself as I watched it, he needs to slow it right down and then I heard Paul say it. It’s the little things that the examiners will be very picky about. Road positioning too as Examiner will mark you down for it. Paul told me last year when I done it that examiner was and is very picky with it. I had the same examiner as I Mod 1 for my Mod 2. At the end of the day it’s all about safety and being safe on the bike. Everyone makes mistakes and that’s how we learn. You’ll past the mod 2 easy, just don’t overthink it, I just saw it as another lesson with a different instructor as that might calm nerves down if you experience them on test day. You’ll be fine and smash it.
Hey, that is all interesting and good info to know - thanks! I love it when Paul goes mad, it helps me to remember what I could have improved on. I hope I get that route on my test so I can do it better 👍
I remember watching your video about your first ride after your CBT before doing my CBT, and I've now been the owner of a little varadero 125 for 9ish months now. Good luck to you fella
@@TwoWheelsTommy Yeah mate honestly love it. Got it for less than 2k and put maybe 300 to service and replacing shit. Works like a charm nearly 18 years later! Sweet dude! Congrats! You got an idea for what you want next?

@TwoWheelsTommy where you got yours booked ? Hope it's not has hot on mine as can't really stand hot weather if I'm honest but just hope it's not raining lmao
Watxhing your progress inspired me to go for my CBT and i got throigh it ☺️ got my first bike last week and loving it! Thank you. Good luck with your mod 2 🤞
First 14minutes is the route I had for my test pretty tricky as I didn’t get the chance to do that route on a lesson 😂but had been watching Paul’s Tik Tok so knew what was coming 💪🏼 goodluck Tommy I’m sure you’ll smash it
Oh, really! I feel it has gone well so far there must be something that goes wrong before I get a pass. We'll see. I feel good about it, hope it all comes together on the day 💪
If you're an experienced driver, it's easy to pass the Mod2. You would have to do something dangerous, or potentially dangerous to fail your test. I think passing the Mod 1 is harder because you have to learn how to control the weight of the bike at slow speeds. Which is not something we do on a daily basis like driving on the road.
I think you will like it, they are excellent. I wouldn't be able to compare between the two though as I've not ridden a Tiger Sport. I would like to though!
The chap crossing at the roundabout is allowed to cross under the new Highway Code. Great to see that you’ve improved quite a bit and looking forward to seeing you complete your test. Good luck, may the force be with you!
Gwarn TOMMY!! Catch me up.... July 25th PASS here! Get rid of that ANNOYING tap tap tap... on your helmet by getting some buttons sewen into the velcro that comes loose. So cheap less than a few quid for 5. I broke my GLR CB125F motorway virginity this afternoon! Been dying to go on the M1 so close outside I can hear it 😂
Nice work Keith, that is great news, bet that was fun on the motorway on a 125 😁 Man that flapping was annoying, it is actually the hi viz tabbard we have to wear. They have all been won by 1000 people and none of the zips work. I have one the same and it is great (albeit new, and the zip works!!) The zipper was stuck at the top of the zip on this one.
Awesome that you have MOD2 soon! I failed MOD1 yesterday on something i've never done before (put my foot down on figure 8) all the time i've done it and that never happened i was so miffed with myself i swore i'd never go on a bike again as it's just a headache gettting tests booked up as i'm waiting a month between them and my aim was to hit the road with my dad before summer finished as he's getting on a bit now but that isn't going to happen this year sadly. But i booked for end of aug again for MOD1 but i'm just feeling it's not worth it far too much stress with waiting around then the nerves settle in as i don't ride day to day so being 4-5 weeks not riding you get a little stale. Good luck on MOD2 though i'm sure you'll smash it paul seems like a great instructor mine are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard mostly :)
Sorry to hear that. DO NOT GIVE UP! If you don't do it you definitely can't do it next summer either. Add to that, MOD 1 tests get cancelled all the time so you might be able to bag a cancellation in the next couple of weeks. You can check availability on the DVSA website. Check it daily and if you see a slot open up have a chat with your instructor quickly as they will need to go with you. Thanks, Paul is great - harsh but fair, just how I like it!
@@TwoWheelsTommyjust thought I’d let you know I had my Mod 2 today and passed with flying colours I look forward to seeing how well you do I’m sure you’ll do amazing also 😜👍🏼
@TigerTiger-dh2vr You know what, I tend to keep stuff for years and years. I ride MTB and my bike is over 10 years old. I should get a new one really but when I bought it it was about the best one money could buy. It is still better than I am so it stays until it snaps or something!
Alright Tommy Lad do you know what, you do a good ride should all be sweet for you on the day GOOD LUCK, I am surprised you didn't get told off for turning right at a junction with right turn box and hatched lines and you crossed the hatched box really early before the turn? I am really interested what bike you have been looking at, I bet it has changed to what you was originally thinking of since you started riding the bikes you are now. We will see. All the best mate.
Thanks mate, you will have to watch the video dropping later today to see how the test went 😯. If the chevron area is within a broken white line you may cross into it, if the line is solid you may not. I didn't know that until my instructor told me to do it. You are right, the bike I was initially drawn to has pretty much been dismissed now after riding one. My main choice might surprise a few people, we'll have to see what happens, when it happens! Thanks for watching 😀
Honestly there is nothing hard about it. Riding the bigger bikes is much easier as they are more stable. I always liked the 650R more than the Hornet (based on looks) but I honestly far prefer the Hornet 750 from a riding perspective. Lovely bike!
@TwoWheelsTommy I haven't ridden anything other than a 125 on my cbt 4 weeks ago. I've got a progression lesson tomorrow and I'm scared lol. I hope they have a Hornet available. I was initially looking to get the cb650r but the Hornet has grown on me massive and I think it'll be a great first bike. Good luck for your mod 2
@GT.Bugger I was the same. To be honest riding it round the car park was easier, the bigger bikes are just more planted and less wobbly at low speed. When we had to go out on the public roads I was apprehensive but it is so easy - just go easy on the throttle as the acceleration will be a shock to your system after riding a 125 on the CBT! Thanks, I hope you get to ride a Hornet, they are lovely. I would probably buy one if I didn't have other ideas I need to get out of my system 😁
@@TwoWheelsTommy what ideas are those? Turbo busa? 🤣. Yeah, I found the 125 really hard to keep straight at low speeds. Thanks for the replies, hopefully it goes well and I can book my mod1

How many lessons overall did you have on your DAS and how much did it cost? I've had 2 training days so far, then Mod 1 (passed without any minors, pretty pleased!) and then Mod 2 is in a couple of weeks. The only training I've had so far was for Mod 1 really. We did go for a 2.5hr ride out with the instructor ahead of us for a bit of Mod 2 training but that's been about it
