All caught up. I've spent roughly 4 hours tonight watching your videos. I found it really informative as I' revising for my theory. And it was great seeing the steps of the test. I'm subbed and in for the ride. Cheers
Thats Gurnard Marsh and the little stone bridge is called The Luck Bridge. you actually rode past my bungerlow, my 2 uncles and my sisters property's. All in that tiny stretch of a road
Ha, yes in hindsight that would have been useful. I wanted to see if I could do it just by using the signs provided. Just goes to show it can go wrong if you miss one 🤣
Nice one Tommy, enjoyed that. You could've got a two-parter out of that! Saw some parts of the Island that I'd never seen before. Love the prairie-like bit on the chalk downs above the Military road. Ive said it before, get that IOW Tourist Board sponsorship!
Haha thanks Rob, you are right - why didn't I think of that! That really is a special part of the island. Still plenty more to see, that I've never been to. I'll get an email off to the tourist board now 🤣
I tell you what I love the history lessons you give as you venture definitely some more of that, see if you can do a video specifically based around walking in our ancestors footsteps and maybe add some local folk lore like lost pirate ships or Stuart/ Victorian-esque reminisces would love to learn more about the place you call home 👌 keep up the good work mate
Glad you like them mate - it is a fascinating place. I have planned to do one on Ventnor similar to what you suggest. That is a fantastic place full of history 👌
Went for a lesson today mate before my cbt, stalled the bike twice but pulled it back together and it’s all slowly coming back to me. I’m still a bit fast on the clutch Tommy so reckon I’m going to squeeze another lesson in before the day, just to get used to that bite point again and 🪶 that clutch a little more 😅. Thanks again for the great content bud, keep it up.
Nice work. Worth noting there is a LOT to take in on a CBT so getting a headstart won't harm at all. It won't be the only time you stall, every rider does it every once in a while. Just gotta stay chill, and do your checks. You'll be moving again in about 5 seconds (just feels like an hour!). Is you CBT booked?
@@TwoWheelsTommy Definitely a lot to take in mate. I was booked in for tomorrow . I had a couple jerky starts though and in my eyes if that was on the road at I would have jerked forward into the back of a car. So my cbt is now booked for the 3rd of November and I’m doing another lesson tomorrow,I’m confident mate but not 100% yet. Funnily enough I had a problem going slow, the micro management of the clutch doing the figure of 8 e.tc. Absolutely smashed going round the yard in 1st and 2nd which I think was rather good to say i was on a sinnis terrain with a fake neutral light that was on constant lol.
@The_Engineer93 There is no shame in putting it off if you are not ready. That slow speed CBT stuff is annoying as it always feels like the bike is about to topple over. Worth getting your technique dialled though as you'll need it for your MOD 1 test, and everyday riding. I tended to deploy about 50% clutch and hold it there, the rest I control with the rear brake so I only need to worry about controlling 1 input. (Before long it is second nature anyway). It would also help if your school didn't give you a bike that wasn't broken! Good luck on November 3rd 💪
@@TwoWheelsTommy I did get asked if I wanted to swap the bike in my instructor’s defence lol. Wasn’t too much of a problem as,the display did show the correct gear, just had the little green N switched on at all times. Plus he did say we would be using newer bikes on cbt day too. Enjoy rest of the weekend mate.Ride safe :p .
I think you’d need to install a sat nav on your bike, unless you know exactly where you’re going. Reading cycle signs are not easy to read especially on a bike.
That would have been well handy. The idea behind this was to see if I could follow the signs and find my way around it. It would have been much quicker if I'd not missed that sign heading into Freshwater!
Hiya Tommy hope the new bike is treating you well 😁, got some bad news... i had my mod 1 and 2 today i failed my mod 2 right at the test centre on the way back, i pulled out a junction when i shouldve waited so instant fail 😭😭 i passed my mod 2 right up to that point i feel like utter crap all that money just to fall at the last hurdle 😭
Hey, yeah it is so rad! Ah that sucks a little. At least you passed your MOD 1 though, that's great news. Get another mod 2 test booked, you'll smash it next time 💪
@@TwoWheelsTommy It looks so much fun 😊 yeah I'm going to, I need to wait 10 days before I can book it again but I'll definitely give it another try 💪💪
@@TwoWheelsTommy I was shocked how easy the 500 and 700 are to ride compared to my 125 I'm gutted I still need to ride my 125 but it'll be good for the practice till I can get my test booked
@jonesy4468 Yes I find the heavier bikes are much more planted. The 125's being so light tended to wobble about particularly on the low speed manouvres. They did with my fat ass anyway 🤣
Yeah this one went on a bit, feel sorry for the guy that had to edit it (me) 🤣 That said, you can't show a 'round the island' trip and cut most of it out! Next video will make you feel awash with spare time, I'm sure! 😀
@@TwoWheelsTommyA lot of people enjoy the long cruise videos mate. There’s people who unfortunately can’t ride anymore so sadly this is all they have. I’m just soaking up as much as possible getting ready for my cbt next week. I have my eye on a Mutt fsr 125 already 😊. Keep up the good work Tommy.
@The_Engineer93 You make a good point. I'd not thought of it like that (I'm happy to oblige!). Good luck with your CBT, you have a lot of fun ahead of you on the Mutt 😀🚀

That is good to know, thanks! Was it you that told me last time too? Sounds like your family is running the show down there 😁
FYI you can download the entire route to your phone before you leave, then use your GPS to keep you on course, or help if you get lost or miss a sign.

You should take a Hi-Res picture of your paper map on your phone, that way you will have a zoomable copy with you. Keep up the good work.
Good idea, I didn't realise there was a paper map! Thanks for watching Greg 😊
