  • What races or sub-races of mankind are in danger of going extinct in the upcoming years? Tune in to find out and maybe learn something new about these unique and fascinating people groups that have been highly neglected by global academia. Our ever-shrinking world has caused a huge paradigm shift among various isolated corners of the globe in the past few hundred years, and this has had positive effects overall, but disastrous consequences for smaller, less-developed people, and in today's video we'll discuss just who those people are and why it's important to learn about and appreciate them.
Be sure to let me know your thoughts on these potentially, soon-to-be extinct races/sub-races of human, and which group you would like to know more about, I know there are a lot of groups I didn't have a chance to discuss. Thanks for watching!

In my slavic histories class, we were taught that the scythian tribes largely migrated north of the black sea into Eastern Europe, particularly southern Ukraine, where they intermixed with proto-slav populations. We closely studied how many ancient scythian religious ceremonies became the foundation for a lot of Cossack and slavic folklore. I know that my Ukrainian-Cossack mother was always very proud of her scythian heritage. Additionally, many of the old Scythian burial mounds are found in Eastern Europe. I think it's a pretty safe bet that there was a significant amount of cultural and genetic admixture between Scythians and proto-slavs.

The Tehuelche don't have too low numbers (especially if you count Mapuche-Tehuelche communities, in which case they go up to hundreds of thousands), but their language is in real danger, with only four speakers, even though the Argentine government is trying to make a revival.
The Selk'Nam are gone. Their last pure member died in the 70s and their language is extinct, but their mestizo descendants number in the thousands.
The Yaghans are also in a hard place. They only have two speakers of their language left, a grandmother and her granddaughter, currently making a book on the language. Their numbers are low without counting the mestizos, in the thousands, but if you add the other canoe peoples of the same stock they go up to tens of thousands. More if you count the mestizos, as the local gauchos, anglican missionaries, welsh settlers and yugoslav migrants were known to take native wives when they reached the continent.

I am glad to say that sami rights are heavily protected in norway now. They got their own parlament, it doesnt hold much power but what they say is generally respected by the parties in the regular parlement. Also laws protecting their native lands and work exist. for example reindeer farming requires that you are either A married to someone whos family had raindeer farming as an occupation, or B born into a reindeer farming family. Also in norway most of the population celebrate the Sami's national holiday. And in schools the suppression of the sami are taught as Norways version of jim crow laws essentially.

Yeah, I don’t.The world will mix and we’ll all fuck it out 69 style and 1 human race will be the result .But I still think different races are a cool thing. But in the end one race made of all the races would bring more people together, because most of people are subconsciously racist to a degree.

First of Germans are mainly Celtic (Just look up anglo saxon or Gauls) they in fact contributed to the reduction of nords. This is why so many Germans have a nordic phenotype. Next the low births are due to the drop of infant mortality(so you don't have 20 kids so 4 can live to adulthood) , less helped needed on farm lands(due to not needing to grow food) and finally the desire to have smaller families so you pay less.

A brief history of hooded eyes or epicanthic folds in Scandinavia for anyone who might be interested, as I've seen people being puzzled about it quite a bit.
Epicanthic folds and hooded eyes is a feature not uncommon in northern Scandinavia. I'm from the North West of Sweden and alot of my friends and family have this facial feature, me included. It is however more rare in the south and the mid to south east of Sweden. The Swedish population came about as a mixture of three different groups of people who migrated after the ice melted and the land was revealed. These groups consisted of the sami and a group migrating from about where Mongolia would be today, these two groups passed through Russia and Finland and settled mostly in the northern parts of Scandinavia. There was also a group originating from southern Europe who settled mainly in the south of Scandinavia. In Sweden more particularly, the south European group were more concentrated in the southern to mid East Region. Where as the group originating from Mongolia and the samis were more concentrated in the north to mid west regions. Since then these groups have mixed alot. But the feature of hooded eyes or epicanthic folds is still noticeably more common in Swedes from the northern to midwest regions. I'm not as knowledgeable about the populating of my neighbour countries but if anyone is willing to educate me on it in a comment I'd happily read it. Thanks for reading if this interested you!

In fact they were still mostly Zoroastrian until 400 years after Arab invasion. And besides, there is no evidence of Arabs moving to Persia after the war (which is the principle reason their language didn't change) which means that a mass-murder couldn't have happened. The Yamanas were rather short and lived in the coasts and eated primarily fish and the selk'nam were much taller and aggressive and lived pretty much on guanaco meat.
fact: the name Tierra del Fuego (land of fire) is because when the europeans first arrived they saw a bunch of bonefires everywere were the Yamanas lived, they even carried one on the canoes so when they fish they didn't freeze

There's probably a few other ethnicities (the better term to use since 'races' don't really exist) that could have made the list. Some Amazonian tribes are vanishing. There are some groups in the Caucuses Mountains that are hanging on by a thread. Native Hawaiians are rapidly being absorbed. And I'm sure I'm missing a lot of indigenous ethnicities that are vanishing too. Could be a whole series of hour long videos on this very topic.

      @abanereizei204 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Assyrians and Chaldeans(a catholic sub-group of Assyrians) are just a Christian ethnic group and carries quite little similarity to the Assyrians of old.
"How much of their history do they remember?"
Only as much as was recovered by the western archaeologists and historians. They're LARPers, basically. That LARP as Assyrians because they live on the land where there once was a great civilization in the past. Until recently these people couldn't even decide whenever they want to RP as Arameans or as Assyrians. Nowadays, it's mostly Assyrians or both.
      "Does their language still exist?"
It's dead. The modern "Assyrians" speak a dialect of Aramaic that carries some linguistic influence from the Assyrian language, that is often called a dialect of Akkadian.
Assyrian and Akkado-Babylonian civilizations are long dead. What remains of them are ruins and some genetic markings in some of the populations. That's it.

Any (proportional) decline of 20% is considered at risk, above 20% is considered endangered.
