New Races/Ethnic Groups that Might Exist in the Future

  • What are the new races/ethnicities that might exist in the future, considering global patterns of human migration and intermixing continue? I've done videos over races that might go extinct soon and races that have already gone extinct, but let's get less morbid and discuss what the world will look like in the future if each region gradually homogenizes into a single gene pool or race.
Contrary to what many have argued and what is portrayed in media, some geneticists and anthropologists claim that the human species is currently diverging faster than it is converging, and that global miscegenation will not curb the trajectory of humanity to diverge completely into different races, or (at the extreme) even different species on a long enough time frame. Today we'll discuss just who these new groups might resemble based on data from the present and projections into the future. Thanks for watching!

@@dynaa4168 There's 1,6 million of Japanese descendants in Brazil (2017), most of them being from São Paulo city. Take a look at "Bairro da Liberdade" In São Paulo, It's hard to guess that this place is in Brazil. There's also descendants of Koreans and Chinese here, but not as large as Japanese. And it's kinda hard to a Brazilian be 100% something, so even Asians here have something from Europe or Africa. It's not like, a *really* large numbers of Eurasians, If we compare with the total population of Brasil, but there are.

In maybe a hundred years, I'm sure many labels will become less relevant but some communities will continue to remain pretty much intact while others undergo changes. It's more useful to look at communal inertia to understand rates of in-group marriage vs. outgroup marriage. Every culture and ethnic group you can divide into some communities with high outgroup marriage rates who will all contribute to the blurring of races but another component will have high inertia for religious, political, social, economic, ethnic, or cultural reasons. Many African Americans, Jews, Amerindians, Mennnonites, and rural white Americans will have a component that will stay in the community even over generational time as a marriage is a marriage and people cluster with people who they can understand.

Hegel thought that the heart of europe was the scandinavian contries, nor Tacitus or Suetonio in the roman empire considered the germanic tribes as eurepeans brothers, either Julius Caesar, the caroligian empire of Charlemangne (father of Europe) did not have control over the east and north europe, so can we consider the UK and the scandinavian and rusians as "not european" ?
When the caucasicans went out of the caucasus they took europe and the land that we know today as Iran, are the Iranies europeans?
In what we know today as europe there has been migrations since prehistoric times of subsaharian tribes, semitic tribes, mongolias, huns and more, that the main reason why europeans are so diverse.
Each country does whatever it wants with the inmigration policy, but considering 2 cm of cheeks or 1 cm of lips as the biggest achivement of european society is kind of stupid.

    00:04 - "Reproduction is not biased, it doesn't care about morals or ethics or politics, and it isn't selective outside of dominant and recessive traits";
There are historic social taboos against incest (genetic proximity), bestiality (genetic distance), and miscegenation (genetic distance), indicative of reproduction being a a) replication, and b) fitness maximisation process for any given genome, coupled with c) social contract (one cannot expect their tribe to invest resources in genetically distant or unfit members). We also observe consistent discrimination towards intra-population couplings (genetic similarity), despite "unbiasing" attempts to the contrary in modern/western media.
    a) Hamilton's rule as extended to lineages should theoretically affect reproductive selection (mate preference): the relative genetic distance between two persons affects evolutionary incentive to invest a) genetically and c) monetarily in others, not just their b) fitness. For example, two members of a particular race (population) may be genetically (and therefore altruistically) equivalent to first/second cousins, as compared to members of another race (population).
a/b) There is a trade-off between maintaining a full copy of one's genome per replication (asexual reproduction) [maximising replication], and being able to diversify their genome by shuffling variant alleles/mutations between like organisms (sexual reproduction) [maximising fitness], providing protection against extinction (www.nature.com/articles/nature14419), and arguably accelerating speciation under conditions of high environmental stress (death).
    b) With respect to fitness maximisation, there is a further trade-off between risking an accumulation of deleterious mutations (genetic proximity) [e.g. recessive traits] and risking the loss of advantageous mutations (genetic distance) [e.g. complex non-additive/epistatic effects]; cf the evolution of ashkenazi intelligence through strong ingroup selection (note this high intelligence is linked with recessive deleterious mutations also).
    c) In males, their short-term reproduction strategy isn't strongly selective outside of fitness ("dominant and recessive traits"), since they are not limited by carrying capacity. Only under conditions of limited resources and commitment (long-term reproductive strategy: paternal investment) should males become particularly selective of genetic proximity. Moreover, when they are bound by a social contract, they are socially motivated to select a mate of relatively close genetic proximity (or all members of the tribe must be allowed similar levels of diversification in their offspring).

Beautiful! You can mark that one "complete" on my usual list of reiterations lol. Here's a few more ideas:
    1. In the same regard, asking what a Pan-Earth ethnicity would like would fit into this.
    2. Do a video on the ethnic groups of the rebooted "Battlestar Galactica" pre-Cylon attack in the 12 colonies of Kobal. I always found that fascinating because each of the ethnic groups is based on a planet that has a name from the Greek zodiac, and the ethnic groups are named from that. They also take aspects of Earth cultures and re-brand them with different names that fits their civilization. I won't give out to many spoilers of why this is. Even if you didn't like the show, this aspect of it is fascinating. I suggest doing this in the same manner as how you did the "Game of Thrones" universe map.
*In addition, if you wanted to do more on fictional genres, another good one that represents a hypothetical Earth is Jules Verne's "The Time Machine", especially in relation to this video!
    3. What if the Earth were inverted in geography so that wherever there is land, there is water, and the tallest point is the lowest point and vice versa? While it'd be a stretch to say we may even be able to breath on a world like this, what would human civilization of "Inversia" look like?
    th-cam.com/video/yl-6-Yzt--A/w-d-xo.html
    4. While I am not suggesting doing this idea as an actual "what if?" video, the theoretical scenario would present some interesting analysis. You might also want to do a thought analysis on the short lived TV show "Terra Nova". (Note: I do not take the "dinosauroid" presented with scientific legitimacy; however, I am suggesting this because this could lead to brainstorming of some fascinating topics!)
    -th-cam.com/video/yTnzYeKZQrI/w-d-xo.html
    -en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stenonychosaurus
    -blogs.scientificamerican.com/tetrapod-zoology/dinosauroids-revisited-revisited/
    5. *Un-contacted peoples of the world beyond the Sentilinese. In addition to the Amazon, Papua New Guinea, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, are there any un-contacted people in the Congo River Basin?
    6. What if extinct language families survived to today and became their own nations? This would be in the same format as the "what if these languages united into a country" videos.

One great book series to have a glimpse on what mankind could become in a distant future by exploring space would be revelation space from Alastair Reynolds.
Humanity would be divided by 3 different species, one of them would be a transhuman hive mind.
But who knows what will happen once the final frontier were fully broken, we could diverge so much that any humans alive today would see the future humans from a distant colony as alien monsters despite having an almost identical DNA than our own...

Well if you consider Neolithic ancestry as “Middle Eastern,” then sure, but all Europeans have varying degrees of that Neolithic farmer ancestry, but more so in Southern/SE Europe, which would be Italians, Greeks, etc. It has much less to do with more recent historical invasions like from Carthaginians or Arabs/Moors, who had much less of an impact on the gene pool.
In any event, Middle Easterners are still “Caucasian” if you will and genetically (and phenotypically) cluster with Europeans way more than any other human population group.
So to sum it all up, the vast majority of ethnic Italians look very European, just with a higher percentage of darker hair and eyes than what you’d see in Northern Europe.

2.) In Africa there is no Pan-Africanism. Only your tribe for example Nigerians would be Ibo, Igbo, Yoruba before being Nigerian or African.
      3. I've done extensive research regarding my family tree predated the transatlantic slave trade. And they start with Mullato people meaning they were already mixed. My European heritage wasn't due to rape as these mixed race people were married
4.) No confirmation of any full blood Africans born outside of the United States. ( All my ancestors were born in the US)
So for me to claim African heritage would be insulting as I having nothing to claim other than someone telling me I just because I'm Black. I'm very proud to be Black. I do not hate Africans( I love them very much) nor do I deny that I descend from them.... I'm 10+ generations removed from it as well as my European and Native American heritage as well. I claim my Blackness Because that's what I know...All of the beautiful struggle it is.

Imprinted genes may be a factor contributing to the large size of the various genetic types: These are genes that may or may not be expressed on the parent they are inherited from, and that occasionally play a role in issues of hybrid growth. For example, in some dog breed crosses, genes that are expressed only when maternally-inherited cause the young to grow larger than is typical for either parental race.
African, American Indian, Asian, Australian, European, Indian, Melanesian, Micronesian, Polynesian
Many races have tried to claim racial superiority, isolating themselves strictly to their own race, with the end result being the beginning of inbred mental illness and genetic malediction. The opposite seems to be truer in that when opposite genetics are re-combined, it results in superior growth -- grow larger than is typical for either parental race. I suspect that as the races re-combine we will see a re-emergence of the colossal humans that are long forgotten and considered a false myth.

The process began with widespread literacy and newspapers. Radio and then television then accelerated it, social media is just the icing on the cake. Even 30 years ago I found vox pop pieces on the television in which people from Liverpool or some parts of Scotland were interviewed were very difficult to understand. While people from those regions still have distinct accents, it is much rarer for me to hear ones that are completely incomprehensible.
The same thing is true of travelling interstate in Australia. When I was a child and even a young women, going interstate meant new road rules, different coloured road markings, different brands of food and drink. There was even the unique square milk bottle in one part of South Eastern Queensland (in those days milk bottles were glass and returned to the milko to be re-used) and milkos in other parts of the country wouldn't take the square bottles off you. These days you don't even get that much sense of travelling to a foreign country when you go overseas. The style of road signs, the supermarkets, etc are all the same.
On the plus side, the growing uniformity has led to some decidedly unpleasant and anti-social behaviours becoming less fashionable. I can live without people chewing with their mouths open or spitting in the street or not using deodorant. However, the social media can be a bit of a double-edged sword. Misogyny and racism are on the rise, encouraged by some sleazebags who are active in social media. Similarly, there are those who use social media to peddle ignorance (anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers, young earth creationists and so on). Also on the negative side, I think we are losing languages, dialects and customs and that makes us all poorer.

I think both India and China are almost as diverse when it comes to the genetics of their population. The difference would be that the Chinese had a Dominant group i.e. the Han Chinese who managed to assimilate most of the other groups in that country into one unifying Chinese culture. Whereas in India no such group was able to be that dominating and hence there are both genetic and cultural differences between various groups in the country. One of the reasons for this can be that India wasn't really one united political entity for most of it's history(only the Mauryans, Guptas, Mughals and the British Raj were able to unite the entire country, with the Guptas and Mughals still not being able to conquer some regions of the subcontinent). Whereas China has been more consistent in having empires that were able to unify the whole country.

Again, like you said, barring cataclysm, I think the biggest influence on future human divergence besides migration will be birth rates. We all know that Europe and East Asia have very low rates but the rate is trending lower and lower across most regions including Latin America and the Middle East. This means that the future biggest genetic contributors to the global gene pool, and possibly the most economically dominant as well, will likely be those who are as far removed from this trend as is currently possible, namely places like Sub-Saharan Africa and the Philippines.

One serious big hole in whole reasoning in the long run:
    a) we should start talking about designer babies as they would have much higher impact than any ethnic mixing
    b) if from some reasons (technological or ideological) such genetic engineering would not be viable, then there is a problem that Flynn effect ended and right now it becomes clearly visible that low IQ becomes evolutionary favourable (both within ethnic groups and between them). Let's say that it has potential to shape future generations much more than their facial features.
