I will NEVER stop recommending the song of achilles. I've read a lot of different books because of my English degree, but I truly think madeline miller is one of the best modern day writers in terms of technique. she's so talented-- her prose isn't just lyrical, but it actually reflects Greek epic styles (like Homer) because of the relatively simple but beautiful and poetic language. She also constantly uses ancient Greek references such as the bodies of water, natural elements, love, and gods in her figurative language which is just SO clever because those small things just add up and makes it seem like you are truly present in that time period. this book was so beautiful that it gave me a reading slump, but I LOVE it for that
I’m so happy to see this as a fellow bookworm, who also just got back into reading in 2021! I hope you enjoy your books for 2022, so excited to watch this video 🤍
Omg I loved the video and I was actually quite surprised by how similar our taste in books seems to be. As for suggestions, one of my biggest reading discoveries of 2021 was the YA/NA fantasy genre. I didn't really read much from this fantasy genre before the pandemic but was pleasantly surprised. now almost 2/3rds of my TBR is filled with these books. I don't know if you'll like it but it's worth a shot.
*You have so much to give the world, just by virtue of your unique experiences and personality, never let anyone make you feel lesser, you are worthy 😊* *Good luck friend!*
You just added a ton of books in my to read!!! Love all the summaries!! Btw, just wanna appreciate you for adding subtitles for all of your videos!! 💕💕💕
You inspire me, Christine! Saw you posted A Tale For The Time Being on your ig story and it made me buy the book right away! I have no intention in reading The Song of Achilles but you just mentioned that that's your favorite read...well I feel like I also really need to buy and read it. I love you!
i used to read a lot when i was initially in quarantine but tbh in 2021 i couldn't read at all.this year im planning to read everyday and this video helped me sm🥺💕 i completed 'the alchemist' by Paulo Coelho, it was beautiful and currently im into 'it ends with us' by Colleen Hoover (this is all over the internet so i thought of trying it for myself). i would love to recommend a book ive previously read, like 3 years ago, its called 'the five people you meet in heaven' by Mitch Albom, and its spellbound beautiful,do read this. and tysm for this review video, christine!! ps: i simply love ur discord server, it's so cute and friendly 🌷❤
hi christine! i’d love for you to read frankly in love by david yoon, it’s marketed as a romance but it’s more of a contemporary read about frank li, a korean-american teen living in california
I'm not so sure bh, but i think you'll be enjoy of reading The invisible life of Addie LaRue book. this book is one of the best books I've read this year.
Talking about thrillers, I recently read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and honestly I've been recommending this to everyone. It's a science fiction mystery sort of novel, involving multiverse and is amazing...a really good page turner helped me get out of my reading slump.
I HIGHLY recommend White Chrysanthemum of Mary Lynn Bracht! It's a fiction novel about two korean sisters and how their lifes gets apart during the japanese ocupation in ww2! Its beautiful and so touching I can't even make justice to the book in this comment but it really something special!
I've been waiting for a video like this and you post it. hmmm, Are you stalking me Christine? btw I love you and your videos.( I watch all of them lol ) Also Happy Birthday Rachel.
Isn't The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo about a lesbian who gets married to a gay man so that they can both be with the people they truly love? It sounds like my type of read. 👌
Hello Christine, I hope you are well. My little sister is a big fan and she loves you so much, she doesn't miss any of your videos because her dream is to become like you. Unfortunately, she will not be able to fulfill this dream. She has a tumor and no longer has many days ahead of her. Today is her birthday and the best gift I could give her is a video of you wishing her "happy birthday". Her name is "Ian". I hope you will read this comment, I also sent you a mail.

슬아를 보고 있는 것 만으로도 행복하단다.
