The type of instalation i love, top quality but with OEM look and nothing showing. Just get rid of the device on the dash and it will be perfection.
Really like the care that you have with fittings, covers, etc. 👌
I totally agree with you I’m a big fan of the OEM look but if they could get rid of that device under the screen it would be perfect. I wonder if the audio quality is a huge difference running Bluetooth from your phone to the mcu or via USB and then running it into a DSP
Some of the cleanest work I've seen of yours, Matt. Every system I've seen you create has been perfect, though. Getting 8s to fit in the front doors makes me want to buy a Tesla! Also, flushing TBMs in the pillars is impressive. I would be so nervous installing a $25,000 system, in an $108,000 ride! Matt, you are a Pro.

This was a beautiful setup. I have a quick question- do you think there is a considerable difference in creating a soundstage using a dsp to create a dedicated line out on an amplifier for a tweeter and a midrange, as opposed to using a passive crossover? I’m building a setup for a customer, and I’m trying to figure out how many amplifiers I’m going to need, and I’m thinking of just using the included 3 way crossover included with focal Kevlar to save cost on purchasing an additional amplifier.

Once again great work....always love a stealth system, that makes ppl say:" Where is your equipment?" But I would love to see a build with reputable manufacturer products, but their low end stuff.Like JL AUDIO, but using the JX amps,W0 subs,and C2 coaxials.Im sure you can make em sound like perfection
Hi Matt,
If I want to change just one set of speakers in the Tesla model S (with premium audio), which speakers will have biggest impact? Front Doors, tweaters , midrange (in dash) or the sub? My bet would be the midrange in the dash. Would you advice for or against replacing the dash speakers, but not touching the rest of the setup at all (including amp)? Will that make a huge difference?
How does the focal utopia m speakers sound compared to the focal kx3 speakers installed?.
If you don’t mind me asking what device did you use to be able to control the volume from the radio to the new system
Would you recommend adding a Sony gs9 to the front end of the sp2000 if you use an analog output instead of an optical output? Or is the best way to use it is to use analog output to dsp (3.5-rca)?
Nice video. I believe people expectation on sound quality in general is very low. Majority of the time, the average person doesn’t even know anything about KBPS or different file types.

Once again great work man,but why only focal? I have heard about Steg Italy, Eton, morel audio make great stuff have you tried them and prefer focal?, please throw some light on this.
Abhishek Rohera I have been a focal dealer for 20 years. They make some of the Worlds best speakers. Crazy someone even asked that question. I install other brands. I am a JL dealer, alpine dealer, ect. I install brands people bring me if they insist on the product. But there’s is no need to be a dealer of multiple high end speaker companies.

Matt I have a Tesla Model 3 SR+ and I am interested in upgrading the Audio system. Have you done anything to a M3 yet?

Looking into getting into these players but not looking to spend $4k on a DAP - also I'm assuming it would require having a DSP to take the signal into the factory system? I have a 2016 Lexus IS350 that I just bought Focal PC 165F speakers for... nothing crazy. Nice work! thanks for the input!
enkrypt3d astell and fiio have some in the $699 range. You can go toslink, coax or analog into most processors.
I got lost on the summing device part. What is the Mosconi piece u added? (Not the DSP)
Terrance Green it take the OEM signal tweeter and mid and sums them into one output. The 8to12 has 8 inputs. Which means one of them is the summed high output from the HLA-SUM, next is front midbass, next is rear and last is analog input from the Astell. We would not have enough inputs for the Astell if we did not sum the OE midrange and tweeter together.

I might ask a stupid question but how many volts does the tesla have? Normally a car has 12 volts?
They use a DC to DC converter. The driver motor works on high voltage while the interior accessories run off 12v.

Hi Matt. I desperately need your help, I am trying to connect my Astell & Kern SP1000 Ultima to my car sound system by means of a digital coaxial cable from the headphone output (by means of a 3.5mm to coaxial adapter) and connect this cable to my DSP Mosconi 6to8 Aerospatial with no result, no sound, I don't know what to do. I see in your video that you have an Astell & kern SP2000 connected by cable but I do not know how you have it configured. Can you give me a solution if there is one. I will be very grateful to get your help. I wait impatiently for your answer. A lover of hi-fi car audio. José Ángel Monreal
José Ángel Monreal Carramolino analog out with the line output selected on the Astell and Kern. Use a set of the rca inputs on the Mosconi to configure.
