It blows my mind that Rory sounds identical to the studio versions. He's so incredibly consistent in his technique, too. On top of that, his and the bassist's voices sound beyond great together, and it just makes it sound so full.
Have you heard their song "Almost Numb"? One of my favs, along with their harder songs like "Crooked Soul" and "The Color Black"! Basically, any song from their albums "Dark Sun" and "Sleeptalk" are pure fire!😎
Saw them in Sydney last month and was so blown away. I've read countless TH-cam comments and friends say that they sound better live than on their albums - but it's actually true. Rory had so many vulnerable moments, talking about the anxiety he was experiencing even still when he performs and how meaningful the music is to him. He did some tracks just solo, some of the slower ones off Dark Sun about his Father's passing, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. I've seen some good gigs in my time, but it was a top 5 memory for me. Only one that comes close for emotional impact was seeing Architects on their first shows back after the guitarist Tom died. Music hits me so much harder when the place it came from is worn on the sleeve so visibly.
Reaction! Saw them live last year and they are amazing live!!! Some other songs by them to react to: Sleeptalk, Dreamstate, Crying While You're Dancing, and my favorite Burial Plot (Reimagined)
I wanna separate my request from the comment, maybe Im lucky and you see this. Im a young artist from Hamburg, Germany. I love to create music, I put all my love, passion and way more time and energy into my art than I should I think, but the joy of finding beauty in the creation of art is just worth it. On my TH-cam Channel I upload my own written Music but also Metal Versions of Pop & K-pop songs. I DON'T cover tracks. I just take the original vocals and create a my very own interpretation of the original song. Im playing guitar and bass, composing drums, sometimes synthesizer or also orchestra if needed and I mix and master every piece to the best level I can for my audience. Im not a professional, just a passionate songwriter. Sometimes I also edit the videos, so that they fit to my vision of the project. I always hope my music can inspire people and show that the ways in music creation are endless when you allow yourself to break boundaries and think outside the box. :) It would mean a lot to me and would be just super cool to see your reaction while watching one of my videos. Also I excited to hear your opinion, your thoughts to it. It doesn't matter for me which song it is. Into every piece I put the same amount of effort and soul. If you read this and only if you haven't too much on your list, I would appreciate if you give it a try! Here I put little selection of my personal favorites, but as I said, you can choose what ever looks interesting for you! Much love from Germany❤🇩🇪 Djuni Selection of my tracks: - Indila (French pop-artist) - "Derniere Danse" (Metal version) th-cam.com/video/3prqcq46Qdo/w-d-xo.html - ATEEZ (Korean-pop-artists) - "Halazia" (Metal Version) th-cam.com/video/FwBFHeeTqdQ/w-d-xo.html - Djuni (me
@@dna2001 It's a pleasure for me. I also had a comment here a few hours ago. I can understand when that didn't belong to here but I spent much time into finding the right words and translate that into English now its just gone and that is some how a weird/sad feeling. But Im sure you had a descend reason to delete it. Could you tell me the right way to make a request for a song? Thank you, have a great weekend.
This song hits hard for me. My dad had stage 4 melanoma cancer when I was about 6 and my brother around 3 1/2 and he was pronounced terminal with 6 months to live. We were pretty young and it wasn’t completely understandable but we had to go to grief counseling to literally prepare for his death. When I learned he was going to die though I didn’t understand the circumstances of it, I remember laying with him in his hospital bed crying and blaming myself for it. Saying that I should have said I love you more and wish I seen him more (my parents were divorced at this time and had 50/50 custody each having us for 2 weeks) and that I shouldn’t have caused trouble etc. I had never seen my dad cry. It’s rare even to this day but that was the first time. And somehow he ended up beating it, even the doctors were like how??? However 3 years later it came back and was the same result. Stage 4 with 6 months to live. Each time I remember since he had kids he was eligible for the make a wish foundation and used it for us to go to Disney World the first time and on a Disney Cruise the second. We once again went to grief counseling. This time the 50/50 was every other week after his first cancer scare. Once again he beat it and has been in remission ever since. Unfortunate in the past 3 years he’s had 2 strokes stemming from all the chemo and radiation he underwent. But he’s still holding strong. And my mom has gone thru kidney failure 3 times, the first when she was 14 due to untreated strep throat. I had to grow up really fast and take care of my younger brother, and then my youngest brother after he was born. This last transplant was difficult to find a match and she had reached 8 years of dialysis (the average lifespan of being on it is 10 years) but was finally able to find a donor (the way she did it is a long story so I’ll spare you of that) and this was in 2016. Average lifespan of a transplanted kidney is 20 years. And she’s doing her best. The surgeon said he’s pretty sure this will be the last transplant her body will be able to withstand. There’s still a lot more to this including my own health but back to the point lol this song hits because even though I am fortunate enough that my parents are still here, I know this feeling all too well. Accepting either of my parents death, and especially my dad and his cancer. I cry every time I listen to it, as I did during this reaction. But I see it as something healthy to do. I used to bottle everything up until I broke down but recently I have learned to just let loose and feel my emotions no matter the result. Also just as I said in a comment on another post I am so sorry that I just be writing essays to yall 😂 it’s just good to get things out as well as talk about the things I love because yall are such genuine people! But I’ll shut up now 😂
So sorry you were and honestly still going through it! So sad you had to grow up so fast 😢. I know for me I lost my mom, she passed from MS so I do know how that feels. It’s awful! I still bottle things up. I love how music makes us feel certain ways though. It really helps us get through things, whatever genre it is. I’ll be praying for you and ur health as well. You just keep watching us , in hopes it will make you smile! 😊🥰. -Andrea
Omg I couldn’t imagine how hard that must have been on you and your family!!! That’s amazing though that both your parents are still with you today, and thanks for sharing😊 I’m glad our videos are able to help you, even if it’s in just a small way, as it makes doing them even more rewarding and meaningful! And thank you for the kind words! We always just try to be ourselves, even if we are silly/goofy/awkward lol. Hope you have a great evening Becca! -Dallas
@@dna2001 I am so sorry to hear that. Any kind of loss is heartbreaking but to me the worst is losing a parent or sibling. I still bottle things up but I’m trying to get in the habit of just letting myself feel the emotions and do what I need to in order to release them. I hope that one day you will be able to do the same because I know how horrible it is to just bottle it up inside until it bursts. And I agree, music is a universal language and no matter the vibe it can bring something out of you, whether happy or sad or any kind of emotion. Thank you for the kind words and again I am so, so sorry you’ve had to go through that painful experience. 🖤 I will say that I always look forward to yalls videos! Great reaction! Love this band. Rory and another artist have a really cool cover song out. 'Nate Vickers x Rory Rodriguez - MakeDamnSure' if you're interested.
Most chilling line cancer couldn’t stop now you’re buried and in a box and the hurt keeps coming.
Except that's not the line.
