Part of what makes this song kind of magical is giving Josh such a prominent role in the melody. His voice is actually in a higher register throughout most of the song than hers (until close to the end when she goes into her highest register which I think she's only used a few times, like on The Mara Effect Part 2). Mind you, this is not an unusual type of song for Spiritbox. It's just that the songs that have this style to them aren't as popular with the masses as the singy/screamy ones. My favorite Spiritbox songs are more like this: all cleans, no screams.
This song is the epitome of beautiful and one of my favorite releases from them in recent years. I’ve been listening to it nonstop. Something about her angelic vocals over heavy melodic riffs just does something to me lol and it was so cool to hear Josh be more prominent in the mix! I cannot wait for the album to drop like march cannot come soon enough. 😭 Also Courtney is a fashion icon I swear she’s always killing it in all of these different outfits. I love her so much 😭 I love this band so much 😭 And Dallas I thought the exact same thing about that creature looking like a clicker 😂 Andrea, you need to check out those games!! Edit: the way she belts that final chorus sent me to another planet
This is the first song to finally feature vocals from their bassist Josh that joined recently after he left one of the biggest metalcore bands of the 2000s. He is a great musician and I hope he gets more vocal parts going forward.
Most definitely, One of the main things I loved about AILD was josh's cleans, and yes he has sang and backed Courtney on a few now but by far this has been the best, almost ethereal in the mix. The production is a lot better on this album for sure.
@@bradkohl99 Though, he's only prominent on one, Too Close/Too Late (as is Mike). You CAN hear him on Jaded and The Void too, but his voice doesn't stand out. What's the 4th song? Ultraviolet? I can't hear him at all there.
I could swear he was in The Void from the last EP? But it is lovely to hear him so prominently in this song, his voice pairs really well with Courtney!
The intention of the mix on this record is gonna be great. I loved them not having Courtney’s voice way out in front of previous releases, mostly since it wouldn’t have fit well.
I was expecting Becca to be the first person to comment on here. 😅 I've been listening to this song since it was released on Spotify, which is before the music video even came out. Their sophomore album, "Tsunami Sea" is set to release on March 7th, 2025. I'm highly looking forward to it. I have a feeling they're going to release another track close to its release date.
Ngl I probably would’ve been the first if I didn’t take a 4 hour depression nap while it came out 😂😂 it’s releasing the day after my birthday and I actually screamed when I found out 😅
@@beccareichard6669 Hope it gets better for you. I mean, probably it will since their next album comes out after your birthday. I had a huge grin on my face when I found out.
Dear, Wheels. Why do you not show the Twitch streams on Twitch anymore? I’m tryna rewatch them there because I can see the chat. You better show them or else I’m unsubscribing or I will push you out of your wheelchair 😂

I'm glad someone is doing this song a reaction! It's beautiful and the backing vocals are awesome.

Those little Kubrick stares Courtney throws at the camera occasionally... 🥵

Their vocal harmonies added something extra to this already amazing song/band.
This is incorrect info. Josh did some backing vocals on 4/6 of the songs on Fear Of Fear.
