I had a shaft drive bike i came to appriciate how easy it was to just drain and refill some oil and be done. No scrubbing no slack adjusting, no chain replacements. You just get to ride it. I just think id buy a sportster if harley still sold them because a belt is also not as bad as a chain in terms of not being in the way of me riding and being reliable for civilized road use at least.

I've ridden alot of brands only one I've never been on is an Aprilia that im aware. Honda has made some of the most reliable and dependable motorcycles of all time. They captured Mr Hondas essence with many of thier platforms, built to ride, not built to fix.
I love my 750 aero. It's a relaxing ride and enough power for me. I have my R1 for the adrenaline rush but mostly ride the shadow now because it's more relaxing.
I love my little 750 Shadow C2 but i wish it had a little more horsepower. Windy days makes it work extra hard. But it’s a very simple fun motorcycle compared to my Yamaha Vmax. It’s worth having.
My first bike i learned on 2 weeks ago i can't wait to get my next one hopefully a valkyrie with 6into6 exhaust. The first ride was scary but the 134 miles home wqs great and a learning experience for my first time on a bike. Edit wish it had aa 5th gear tho but other than that it was a perfect bike to learn on especially with no front brake lol that drum is perfect with engine braking
I had an 03 750 spirit and put a 38 tooth rear sprocket on it and it made a world of difference at 70 mph. They really don't have enough power to support another gear. I'm not dissing the bike because now I have an 09 750 spirit and love all the shadows.

Bikes too slow for me, imo shadows make good starter bike. I started on a 82 650 maximum 73hp 42ft pounds of torque. I now own a 2022 mto9 117 hp, and a 2016 Harley sportster 72 for crusing around town
That low seat height clip at the end comes from a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 lol, definitely not a cruiser. Though they now have the super meteor 650 which is definitely an awesome cruiser!
I have a 30 inch in seam with 5'8" height and the int650 is my only vehicle. I've got 15k miles in 11 months and I gotta say, either I'm shorter than I thought or the int650 does not have a short seat height. She sits high for sure
When I was a new rider looking at cruisers the 1100 just sounded like a big machine and can imagine lots of folks probably felt the same way. Now that I have ridden my 750 for almost 3 years I'd have to recommend the 1100 over the 750 simply because you will get more longevity out of it. From what I hear most of the difference is in the higher rpm range and down low it is comparable to the 750. If I had started with an 1100 I probably would not have picked up a 1600 Mean Streak.
How do you mount rear pegs low on it so that you can put your feet backwards on the passenger seat pegs. I love doing that on my CM450, but I don't see any way possible to do this on a Shadow. The rear passenger seat pegs are way up high near your bwtt to clear those stwpid pipes taking up all of one side.

Don't turn down the idle on a shadow and you won't have any problems. My father in law put 65000miles on an 05 aero without any valve adjustment and it ran like a top when it got wrecked.

there are more types i have a c2 american classic. there are small difference in each model, some have different clutch pad thicknesses as well so know ya model becasue if ever need to change ya clutch out ya can order the wrong ones.
The stock seat on my Shadow was horrible and I had the same experience. $600 late I can ride all day. I'm the opposite though. On my Suzuki Katana (which isn't even a true sportbike) I find the hunched over position to be less comfortable. Different strokes different folks. I had an R3 and a Shadow. The R3 is a great entry level bike yet has bugger all power. I ride a litre bike now, amazing power yet 45 minutes and I am seeking a break. Each to their own I guess.
Someone needs to make sure this guys brain is right. Part of my loves these r3 type bikes because they seem to get imprrsdive fuel economy but thry look so uncomfortable
In some aspects they are all nearly the same. I think the RS has mid controls so your feet are not as far forward. The Phantom is the model that replaced the Spirit and the Aero has more of a retro look.
@@yehoshuacastroduarte5064 The Phantom and Aero should both be shaft drive, meaning there is no chain to replace, clean, lube. I know the RS is chain drive and am not sure about the Spirit. The Phantom should also have fuel injection (newer Aero is also) and will have a fuel light. With older carbureted bikes it is recommended to keep an eye on your mileage and fill up every "X" number of miles (for these bike about 100-120). I'm not an expert between the different models but I think those are the main differences.
Gotta disagree. It’s comfy, but after a while on highways and getting passed by semis the wind will toss you again and again. It’s a good small trip bike

Night and day difference between the Spirit and the Vmax! If the 750 had a 6th gear it would do 99% of what most people need out of a motorcycle.

I'm 6'1 and I drive a GS and I would suggest you be at least 6'4 or taller to ride a GS. I can only flatfoot it when I have a passenger on.

When driving long distances on a high way you get a lot of wind at your torso. Classic bikes or supersport bikes are by far much better.

It will do it but you will be turning at least 4500 rpm. There will be a fair amount of vibration but it can be done.

Honda cb 750 is better less maintenance longer lasting valves the low idle has issues putting the oil to the valve covers
CB750 engine in the Shadow frame would be interesting!
