I like the matte box but doesn't that put a lot of strain on the lens mount, especially with a heavier lens like the Sigma orLumix 24-70s?
Thank you for your video. The Wireless monitoring option is great but it lacks the focus pulling as in the Creator app compatible with the best cameras. Is there a Panasonic alternative hiding somewhere? Thank you.
@CalebHoover, I'm wondering the same thing as @Ansonandco, how are you wiring the V Mount power supply to the S5IIX? Via USB-C power input cord or a dummy battery adapter??

yeah i power through usb c since i’m recording to sd card
so are you not supplying power with a dummy battery are you using usb c?

Greetings from 727. Exactly what I needed to see I’m building out a s5ii rig for video. Does that follow focus just mount to your cage then? What are you using to record audio? I’m also hoping the new g7 that’s rumored is a cinema camera and left of a hybrid.

Great video! I have a question. Are there differences between powering the camera through a dummy battery and powering it directly via its USB-C? thank you
Yes, When you power through a dummy battery, you'll have to stop, turn camera off, replace battery, back on. When powered via USB, it keeps redundancy to the camera battery so your battery pack trickles the camera battery. So should you be doing a long shoot for days or so and lets say you're shooting and the battery pack gets low, you can replace the battery pack(while the camera is still on) and boom still going. I prefer the battery pack redundancy over the dummy battery so I never have to turn off the camera DURING a shoot
So have you kind of waved goodbye to MFT then? I assume the crop in 4k60 hasn't bothered to on the S5s. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the change professional and the ways it has or hasn't affected your work.
hasn’t really affected me too much. i can easily adjust if i have to shoot at higher frame rates

My good guy, I enjoyed the rig build... until you pulled that lasagna noodle of an HDMI cable out lol. I was like really you ended with triple wrapping HDMI cables? LOL Where's your coiled cable my guy!? lol
nice set. I'll never undestand the use of a matte box other than looking cooler and more expensive. It makes no sense at all. But nice set and great content!
Control flares and unwanted light on lens. I’ve noticed when light sneaks in from an unwanted source from the side it actually hits the sensor and exposure changes. Extra lens protection from getting touched or if falls. It and body take the damage and not the lens. Matte box also has options for slide in filters. Much more efficient / better quality than screw on filters. Also creates an easier point of focus for your subject if you’re doing interviews, music videos, etc.
What's the total weight of this rig?
didn’t weigh it but it’s got some weight to it especially with the 99
