      It is evident that brushing your teeth 3x a day is too corrosive for your teeth. Hence. the advice is just brush twice daily; morning and night.

      They should work. Read all of those reviews of the product. If the users were able to reduce the pain from arthritis, then the capsules work. That is all that mattered. Standard capsule sold has 450 mg turmeric and 50 mg curcumin (NatureMade, Walmart Spring Valley, and Target Up and Up). Turmeric works but the quantity is small comparing with 1 teaspoon required. 50 mg Curcumin is the extract from a lot of turmeric. If taking it alone, it won't work. But since curcumin is mixed with small amount of turmeric, it works. The supplement companies already figured this one out.

      Yes, if you have whole turmeric encapsulated it should be the same but often pills use an extract of what is thought to be a key ingredient (e.g. curcumin).
      Sometimes an extract is what you want if a key ingredient has been proven to have an benefit.
      Most studies are geared towards looking at an isolated ingredient. This bias can lead to ignoring potential synergistic effects of a wide range of chemicals and/or ingredients taken together.

    Seems some data is missing on these charts. Or explanation.. How is it possible that a semi veg diet where subjects ate less meat actually created more inflammation? Twice the amount? 4:43
    If this is the actual case, it’s probably not the meat that is raising inflammation levels, but rather the other foods eaten instead that lower it.

    • @natmccallum8885
      @natmccallum8885 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Vegans can eat way to much sugar, oil and salt; really is about what you are actually eating.

    • @A.I.-
      @A.I.- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In another video, Dr.Greger showed a research showing the spike in inflammation with food combination; 1) wholefood carbs, 2) meat, and 3) wholefood carbs + meat.
      1) wholefood carbs has the lowest inflammation
      2) Meat has higher inflammation than wholefood carbs
      3) Wholefood carbs + Meat has the highest inflammation of them all
      The combination of carbs + meat just makes everything worse. And this also goes in alignment with his previous research he presented regarding "food synergy". It's not a linear 1 + 1 = 2. but non-linear 1 + 1 = 5. So despite lesser meat combined with the wrong combination, it would produce the non-linear outcome (higher spike).

      If you actually read the study and not only the abstract, you would have come across the discussion section where the authors mentioned a likely reason why differences in outcomes between 2 months and 6 months could have occurred: "As
      hypothesized, changes in examined macronutrients were greatest among vegan participants as compared with the other diet groups, particularly at 2 months. Differences in nutrient intake were less pronounced at 6 months, potentially because of low dietary adherence among all groups." The same dietary adherence issue, of course, also matters for the DII (inflammation) scores if everyone starts eating basically the same diet again. There is a table in the paper showing the difference between baseline DII levels in each group at the beginning of the trial and changes after two vs. six months. There one can see that after 6 months they basically revert back to their original diet as there also seems to be basically no differences anymore to their inherent own baseline levels (they are all obese omnivores). Problems of longer-term adherence often occur in randomized controlled trials where people are "forced" to eat like they would not eat otherwise. This adherence issue, among other factors, is a great advantage of well-controlled observational studies, which, however as their major disadvantage, can only approximate causality. Furthermore, the study was not well powered (n=12-13 per group), which again, is a drawback of such dietary RCT's. It is not easy to find a lot of people willing to participate for such a long time in a study. Furthermore, there are often ethical issues with incentivizing people to continue eating unhealthy diets (control group) etc. Lower statistical power increases the so-called Type II error of frequentist satistical inference. This means that there is a high likelihood that you do not detect a true effect of a given magnitude just because you do not have enough participants. If you look at the actual figure in the video, you see that the difference between the omni group (control) and the vegan group after two months is high in magnitude. However, this effect was NOT statistically significant. Only the effect compared to the semi-veg group was. This is likely a power issue.

    I've suffered Crohn's/colitis issues for over 10 years. As my illness progressed, I focused more and more on plant based nutrition (in hindsight, I think going more and more plant based actually drove my illness). At my worst point, I was following David Klein's healing Crohn's and colitis to the T, with varying flavours from his dietary recommendations at different points. During the two years that I followed his book, I never once got real relief from my issues.
    As a clever Man once said, repeating the same experiment over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of madness.
    For the last year, I've largely removed all plant based food, perhaps cheating once or twice a month at most. So, at the moment, I'm eating pretty much exclusively meat, eggs, fish, and dairy. At first it felt so counterintuitive because, obviously, plant are "healthy" and animal foods are "unhealthy". The result of my radical diet shift is that I've been disease free for about a year - the first time I've felt "OK" in over 10 years. I'm also off all my medications. I no longer shit blood everyday. I go to the toilet between 0 and 2 times a day (almost always 1), rather than upwards of 6-7 on average. A consequence of my diet is that I eat zero fibre, too.
    Thinking about the progress I've made on a meat based diet makes me well up with emotion, but also angry at the vegan propaganda you push.
    There is genuinely a case for animal based diet in people who seem to be unable to tolerate plants. By pushing your anti animal based diet at all costs, you are doing a disservice to your patients.

    Bananas and white potatoes are getting a bad rap in this video and I think that's unfair. The control shouldn't have been meat + bananas, it should have been meat. I'll bet the bananas did decrease inflammation, just not as much as raspberries. And the white potatoes in the other study could have been processed. Potatoes are very nutritious containing all 8 essential amino acids and almost all the vitamins and minerals you need plus complex carbs for steady energy. They actually don't cause blood sugar spike as people assume. And they are the most satiating food, as found in one study, so that you end up not eating as much as other foods.

      Some potatoes have solanine who cause abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting. Last year I eat soybeans with potatoes. I had after 7 hours some abdominal pain for 13 hours. In that day I eat only carrot juice and carrots, olives. Banana who have 12-17g sugar are inflammatory.

      Weight gain/loss doesn't necessarily correlate with inflammation levels as far as I know. Weight also fluctuates between 4 pounds above or below throughout the day (16oz. of water is one pound).
      We know that meat is inflammatory because of biomarkers such as C-Reactive Proteins that increase in subjects after meat consumption.
      That being said, I'm pretty sure fasting is correlated with lowering inflammation. So you could be feeling benefits from the fast, but I don't know your biomarkers.
