Hey, I don’t know if I have ever even made a TH-cam comment before, but I follow you on twitter (fellow critter here!) and saw you’d mentioned you’ve been getting negative comments on this video recently, so I thought I’d come leave a comment too. Just wanted to tell you that I and many others think you’re a very talented creator, and I can definitely see the skill and effort that has gone into designing this. It’s a really lovely creation, and you should definitely be proud of it! Additionally, the way you explain things in your videos is really well-done and easy to follow. As someone with ADHD, following instructions is really difficult, but the way you break things down is incredibly effective. Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you knew you’re very talented, and both you and your work are appreciated!

I saw on your recent video how much hate you got for this. I just wanted to say that I think some the the haters and bottom feeders are because you did something truly amazing! Jealousy and pettiness are easy with something thats never been done before. It takes much more energy and intelligence to render a nice compliment! Take it as praise that you were able to "wind people up" with your creativity and art!

The eyehooks to feed the fishing line through is rather genius. As someone that did theatre costuming for a couple seasons I really appreciate the ingenuity of craftsmanship in this to work around how it functions and how the character actor can be comfortable wearing this for a length of time. I know the video is 4 yrs old at this point but if nothing else it shows the usefulness of the construction holds. Well done.

Expanding foam is the greatest filler of all time. I used it a million years ago to fill my Tetsusaiga sword when I cosplayed Inuyasha a looooong time ago. Made it nice and light so I could swing it easily despite the size.

Oh man! This is beautiful! I thought when I first saw your original centaur cosplay video that this would be much more complex than what it actually is. In actuality it's simple yet elegant! And I love all the ease of life features that you thought of on top of everything else! This version itself feels like v3.0 or more, rather than v1.0! I'm so glad I backed your book and I can't wait to see how the new version will be!

Because some people don't get why someone would spend so much time and effort into looking like a centaur. Idk I think its cool but some people just don't get it. A family member of mine thinks this kind of stuff is a waste of time unless someone was planning to make money off of it

  • @TheSmuey
    @TheSmuey 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Awesome design, and even though I know it's an older video, a little word of caution about the connection for the hooves. I can't tell if you're using those special nylon inserted locknuts that really lock in place, but if you do'nt please note that a repeated circular motion on that joint can cause the bolt and nut to unscrew themselves, potentially losing you a hoof.

  • @Companion92

If you're thinking that you don't cosplay, here's a story.
I never thought I was into cosplaying either, until I went to my first Anime Convention. Literally everyone in there was in some form of amazing cosplay, and me looking down at my painfully normal boring clothes, I felt downright nude! It was like going to a costume party, but forgetting to bring a costume.
That's how you get into cosplay. Conventions are basically huge costume parties and just as fun!

I have stumbled across a few of your build videos now, and I must say you are a VERY creative and INSPIRING individual!! I subbed!!! I read your comment below about negative comments. For me not understanding what Cosplay is was directly contributed to the word Cosplay. Then I realized it was dressing up in costume as your favorite characters/heroes and just getting together with others and enjoying their costumes, their acting, their why as to liking different characters and at the big conventions the same but also potentially meeting some of one's favorite actors, etc. For the vast majority of people it isn't an every day thing!!!

I've been entertaining a similar idea using a more complex skeletal structure to give greater flexibility through additional joints and, thus, a more realistic movement than most traditional centaur costumes that lack expensive mechanical and electrical components. It's interesting to see yours works so well and moves so fluidly, especially with the fishing line, since that's how I've been thinking of making it move! It's a lovely piece of artistic engineering. The bolted joints on the hooves are a new concept and intriguing. The entire thing must have taken months.

Absolutely brilliant. I myself have pictured you like a mermaid or a nymph, but a centaur costume looks fantastic on you.
Cosplay like tod during carnaval here in the Netherlands (it's a batik al thing we do slightly similar to that in Brazil) and you'll definitely be in the spotlights to get first price for creativity.

Love that you explained but it didn’t take over 20 mins. I appreciate straight to the point videos like this!

Wow this is absolutely beautiful (I’m not a cosplayer or anything) but I have mad respect for you and the patience it took to build this!!!

I have no idea how I got here, but this is the only cosplay for one of the Fantasia centaurs I have ever seen. That right there makes it awesome. But you've done really good work crafting it. Seriously, well done. Cosplayers have some real talent being able to put together things like this that match films that had huge budgets, or don't even exist in reality. Seriously, mind blown in a great way by this. Also, you like Evermore I see, so that's points for you right there. I live just a couple miles from it. :D

MAN THIS IS SO COOL!!! This kind of stuff is what makes me miss going to conventions and dressing up. I've been meaning to get into costume making myself, but just haven't had the motivation or skills to start. Those roses look absolutely stunning!! (I'm just a huge sucker for flowers)
