Hi, where did you attach the hook of the chain to the motor ?

Yes, connect hoist to rear top motor mount on right hand side. Only way it works. Easy as pie. Oh, but its left hand in England right??.

Could you put the bike on its side and remove the engine that way?

Yes it can be done. I would drain oil first

Do you have to hoist the engine out or can you get it out with 2 people?

Awesome, I was about to start the engine removal yesterday, but after watching your video I thought I might need an engine hoist to unwedge it or something.

How much does the engine weigh about ?

I would guess between 125 and 150 pounds

Carbon Iam That's not bad I figured 200 at least ! I just picked up a complete 75 for 275.00 that I got running after its been sitting since 1988 in a shed with a cover on it, had a no spark issue caused by the factory main power wire that has 2 others attached that sends power to the headlight bucket & ignition, it was soldered poorly at the factory & caused a intermittent contact, had to unwrap the factory back tape which still had the part number tags & some Japanese writing on another tag that I couldn't tell what it said lol, but it's up & running again now that I fixed that issue & soda blasted the carburetors & put new gaskets & needle valve & seats in them both . Seems to run great so far but am thinking of pulling the engine & stripping the bike to paint the frame & build a street tracker out of it possibly so glad I found this video you made !

nightflyer12345 Yeah I just recently found them along with a few others Mikes XS ,Heiden Tuning so I am glad I have more options for parts & mods for it. I also have a 82 Honda XR500R that I have been slowing fixing restoring & finding good parts for it is just about impossible unless you want to spend a arm & a leg for them lol but that's the price you pay for a restoration a vintage dirt bike because they get abused & beat on so bad & once they are beat up bad or there isn't a class to race them in anymore they usually end up in the scrap pile as junk lol. I will take a look at your other videos of the bike if you have more so thanks again for the quick response !
